I'm not sure yet, but I'll probably lean towards Tetris. Note, though, how no one criticises it for having a weak story, and comments on the addictive gameplay and the fact that everyone's played it ;)

I'm a huge Tetris fan, always have been. Something is just so addictive about the game, I often find myself playing it on my cell phone or on the games section of these forums. Simple, but just strangely comfortable and exciting as hell. I love the game to death.

But Doom 3 is better. In every way a video game possibly can be. The puzzle genre is probably the weakest gaming genre to exist, which is why outside of Tetris there are almost no popular other games or franchises. Doom 3 on the other hand was just mind blowing. The graphics were stunning, but the atmosphere is what really lifted the game above your average shooter for me. No game has that strange, dark kind of twisted atmosphere that Doom 3 has, it's a different kind of horror than your Resident Evils or Silent Hills.

Doom 3 deserves your vote here people. Tetris is great fun, but compared to the masterful game that is Doom 3, it just doesn't stack up.

I have to go with tetris here because it's so simple yet so fun. It's been on practically every major console and has many duplicates. It's sold very well on most consoles and has had no major innovations so i have to go with tetris.

Tetris is fun for about 10 mins then it just gets boring. Doom 3 is not much better but it's better enough to take it past Tetris. Whoever wins will not make it too far in the tournament so I suppose thats a good thing.

Tetris, hands down.
Tetris was influential, and one of the biggest time wasters ever invented. EVERYONE played Tetris. My mum played Tetris! She hates videogames!
It set the precedent for puzzle games today. If you look at today's puzzle games, most of them are some variant of the "falling block" formula, which all ghoes back to Tetris. It has been made and remade hundreds if not thousands of times.
It also helped Nintendo corner the portable market. Tetris for Game Boy crushed the combination. It was simple, fun, addicting, and had a great soundtrack.
