Buying a New Computer is Harder Than Buying a New Car!

Milkyway!

Hodor!
Well for me anyways as I know cars, and know dick about computers.

A little help would be great? I'm looking for a new desktop for somewhere between $1000-1250. I could go a little more if recommended, and I saw the value. This computer I'm on is on it's last leg. It ticks, buzzes, and occasionally growls. :lmao:

As I know literally nothing about graphics cards, what to get, what not to get, etc. Keep in mind user friendly would be great as I'm no programmer. Ha.

I play a lot of Blizzard games, and of course League of Legends. I don't really do anything "high end" like battlefield 4.

It'd be a great help with some of your recommendations?

Edit: The only thing I really need the computer to include already on it is an OS. Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor I already have.

Then look no further than the Asus Republic of Gaming desktops. Those are beasts. Or if you wanted to, you could customize your own with Origin or MSI. If you need help they have extremely knowledgeable tech guys.

I was looking at these. The $1,749 seems a little far-fetched, but at the same time it has to be $1,749 vs the $1,349 one for a reason. But would I be better to go for the $1,749 or is it like going from a Nissan to an Infiniti and just paying for name value?

The XPS's are nice but considering I'm a PC gamer myself, I usually go with Asus stuff since they're more customizable. However, Dell is getting to be pretty reliable themselves.

Asus does make their own components.

Meaning you can add in something like a liquid cooling unit, a larger power unit for lets say a GTX 980.. that kinda stuff.

That's so over my head I don't think I'd ever do it. Ha! I'm not tech savvy to say the least when it comes to keeping up with technology. I just got my first smartphone about a year ago.

Comparing the specs to the computer you just showed me the only major difference between this computer and that laptop is the graphics card. Is the NVIDIA GTX 970M really that much better than the Intel HD Graphics 4400?

Y to the E to the S..... An External Graphics card is ALWAYS going to be better than an integrated one.

So after talking with a buddy this is what he suggested, but he doesn't know if it's exactly possible with this particular computer.

That tower, but replacing the graphics card with this particular card. He said I may be better off getting 2 of the card, but didn't know if it could hold 2? I dunno. I was mildly confused when he started talking about whether or not it could hold two cards.
