Buy a Satellite and Get a Free... GUN?!

As I said earlier, it's either a handgun or a shotgun, depending on preference.

Sorry man, i didnt see it but thanks for clearing it up, but this is just rediculous...A SHOTGUN!?!? really? really? reallllllyyy? (bad attempt at humor) but back on topic, this is just dumb. who got this idea??? like i recently went on my ride along for my city police academy and its just stoopid how many kids have guns. this is just going to make it easier for young kinds to get guns. Luckily this was stopped before it even started because there MIGHT have been a raise in Armed Robberies/Homicides

Apparently you've never been to the South? Seems like a decent way to get these morons to buy a satellite in all seriousness.

Crock, what I dont understand is why they would use a television company as the means of pedaling this. Does the tech who installs the gun show up with gun in hand once the background check is complete? It just has a bad feel about it.

The most recent article I could find on it has a picture of a man sitting in front of his privately owned Radio Shack with the marquee reading Get A Gun.net. Apparently this has been something already in effect for 5 months already, and sales have tripled as a result of it. I dont know Montana well as Ive only been there once, but I just dont see the need, even though the place is mostly cow and farm boys.

Crock, you should get your ass to your favorite place in the CL and start a thread. It would be epic, the SECOND Crock CL thread! Heres the link for the article.

On the other hand, the people who are using guns to commit crimes aren't going to buy a subscription to a television service in order to also get this gun, they're going to go buy one at a gun store, pawn shop, or acquire it illegally.

I don't understand why they wouldn't, under the first two circumstances, there would be a record of who owned it. They could just as easily wipe the ID off of that as they would they a gun they got otherwise. But I understand your point, and I think they'ld be less likely. With sales tripling as a result, one would have to think that there are some there who got the subscription just to get a gun to use illegally. I dunno, I think the less guns in people's hands, the better.
