Bubba the Love Sponge Released From TNA

Effective immediately, TNA Wrestling has elected to terminate the services of Todd Clem p/k/a Bubba the Love Sponge.

TNAWrestlingNews.com can exclusively report that Dixie Carter was irate when she heard the audio of Bubba The Love Sponge calling out Awesome Kong during a recent interview.

TNAWrestlingNews.com can also report that Bubba was notified by Dixie of his release yesterday evening.

Yeah I am really not surprised at this at all after hearing that radio interview where Bubba called and harassed Kong calling her every name in the book. I think this has happened a few months too late. I think Bubba only brought bad publicity to TNA. It's not like Bubba helped TNA grab any ratings during his brief time.

Hogan said on Howard Stern that Bubba had "legit heat" even more then the Iron Sheik back in the day. The thing is that Bubba is an asshole in real life so of course he gets heat. Maybe if he was playing a character we could respect that, but any one that calls and threatens a woman is beyond sleazy. I don't agree with what Kong did, but at the same time I don't blame her either considering how this guy acts.

What do you think about the recent release of BTLS?

I'm with you on this one...

Personally, I think that TNA should have axed Bubba right after his awful Haiti comments. Whether you agree with what he said about Haiti or not, it was ill timed and disrespectful, considering the amount of deaths involved. I listened to his awful ambush of Kong on Youtube and it disgusted me. Again, whatever you think of Kong or what actually happened, what Bubba did was absolutely disgraceful and blatantly racist. Add to that, speaking to a woman like that is just disgusting, even though the woman in question (Kong) would quite easily snap Bubba in two (careful what you wish for Bubba).

I'm glad that Bubba is now gone from TNA. He didn't bring anything good to the shows and TNA were wise to axe him and distance themselves from such a loose cannon / wannabe "shock jock".

I live in Florida and sadly, his awful show will continue to pollute our airwaves. Fortunately, I'm going to be switching to Sirius very soon.

I'm not too surprised about this at all. Bubba was always more of a liability than an asset, and he never really made any significant contributions to TNA. I'm just surprised he stuck around this long. I thought he should've been released after the first incident with Kong, but he managed to stick around a little while longer after that. There are times where I have listened to Bubba's radio show, and the guy is a dick in real life.

He never helped TNA in any way, so I'm glad he's gone, and he will not be missed by anyone.

Thank God!!!

It is about two months too late, but better late than never...

Bubba's "Army" had no effect on TNA's ratings and from a corporate point of view it was embarrasing to have him on the payroll...

And we won't have to see him waddle to the ring to interfer in anymore of the Band's matches... Why the hell did they stick him with the Band anyway...

Thank God!

Maybe Kong will come back now...?

I'm not surprised about this either.

Of course, I must admit Bubba at least got some kind of reaction from everyone. Legit heat might be better than crickets chirping, but eh, that guy took everything he did too far. I get that it's his thing to be provocative and if he thinks that appeals to some people, some kind of "bubba army", then good for him.

And now he's throwing some kind of tantrum about his release (see main site), albeit he brought it onto himself, in my opinion. That only makes him less sympathetic.
It's over, you're gone, you're not gonna get your job back and your so-called army can/will do nothing about it.

I agree. I didn't like Bubba when he debuted, didnt like his interviewing and didn't like the way he acted. When i heard what happened between Kong and him i thought that Bubba would be fired then but it was Kong instead. Bubba done nothen for TNA and I'm glad he's gone. I don't care about him or his work and he was a waste of the paper TNA signed him on.
Just my opinion

Yeah Bubba the Love Sponge is not only what was wrong with TNA but also what's wrong with radio. Listening to him in that youtube clip was offensive beyond belief. As others have stated Bubba added nothing to the content of TNA. And it's actually very amusing the way that Bubba and his team are taking this rejection. Nevermind Bubba trying to be cordial, he and his team are taking this as TNA's way of showing they have no spine. I guess Bubba never knew what it was like to work in a real organization where you have to be accountable for your words. In the end though I don't think this helps TNA in terms of fan appeal but I could be wrong.

i was wondering why the weather was so nice in northeast pennsylvania today. what a great day for tna fans.

like everyone stated previously, tubba should have been fired the day after he came out with those stupid haiti comments. plus, he was all-around bad. his backstage cameos were awful and his ring work wasn't great. i still remember brother ray standing ontop of the turnbuckle waiting for this guy to waddle to the ring to "distract" him.

this is also showing me that hogan is doing what's right in order to make tna a better product and not keeping guys around because they are "his" guys.

now i hope this will allow tna and kong to talk about a new contract, although i wouldn't blame her if she didn't want to come back.

He brought nothing to the table, there was no purpose to his being there, other than being a Hogan crony. Hopefully management takes note of what happened with him and with the Nasty Boys. And hopefully they bring Kong back...I see her on TV, I want to watch and see what she does, I see BTLS and I change the channel.

i aint shocked about this. i aint one to use the racist card cause i think it gets
used too much but this guy was just a pure racist dick.

glad TNA got rid of him:bringit:

This isn't shocking for me, after hearing that attack on the radio. Now i pose this question...Will Bubba be fired for his actions, or they gonna sweep this under the rug. Imus said nappy head ho's, a general statement towards a group of women. Bad? Yes. Bubba called Kong "Black Bitch"...isn't that the line? If so, he's WAYYY past it. And he didn't say this once....SEVERAL F'N TIMES!!! I didn't know who Bubba was before TNA, and still don't. He ain't Howard Stern. He might wanna do something before Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson get involved...and he don't want the mainstream media to be apart of this.

PS i'm trying to post new threads. if anyone can help me, please feel free to message me

All I can say is Thank Goodness!! Its about damn time they got rid of this toxic person. :wtf: kind of talent was he? All he seemed to do was rub EVERYONE the wrong way in TNA. Does Hogan even realize how this dude reflects on him?? Obviously not. To me it almost seems like too little too late. BTLS is a reflection on the type of people in the management and that is just a small taste of what is going on, and it sucks to think that it took a public punk'ing of Kong on another radio show to show the Bull-crap that is going on behind the scenes.
This could definitely qualify as working in a hostile work environment. There is civil laws against that type of stuff. I'm surprised or wouldn't be if others wanted to come forward claiming harassment. You know they say karma is a bitch. I certainly hope BTLS gets harassed himself to see what it feels like. But I bet this will be the start of hopefully Hogan and his cronies being put under a microscope, and you can maybe see why so many people that were 'original' TNA product either leaving, or being 'fired' or being future endeavored. Hopefully Dixie will wake up and smell the testosterone that crashed the doors, and she and Jeff Jarrett can restore order back in the Impact Zone. I wonder if Hogan would have allowed Bubba to talk to Brooke Hogan like that if she was the one in the same situation?

It's about fucking time this was done. I was wondering when TNA/Panda/Spike was gonna realize that Bubba needed them a lot more than they needed him (which was not at all). The Band didn't need the extra baddie rolling to the ring with them, they get enough X-Pac heat (seeing as how they already have X-Pac!). I never understood what his position was going to be with them. He's useless and offensive in a way that makes even someone as stupid and irrelevant as Mancow look educated. Best news out of TNA since the debut of Mr. Anderson!

Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

This may not help viewership as I'm sure no one will really notice that he is gone but it can't hurt.

To the people who thinks Kong to return for TNA is wrong! If you had been following Kong this inscedent had minor effects on her departure.

She left TNA cause her misuse in character, changes in management, and her payroll issues. I totally agree with her statement since the knockouts are the draw why do they have the least amount of salary. All major knockouts are leaving TNA because of their salary. (Gail, Kong, and now Tara) w/o this draw TNA WILL lose ratings.

Srry I went off topic

Another Hogan crony bites the dust. At some point his choice of friends really does start to reflect badly on himself. I have been on the fence about if Hogan is still an egomaniac, arrogant, asshole and since everyone surrounding him is still one I might have my answer. At least Foley got to do what we all wanted to before Bubba got shown the door.

This was never going to work. Bubba has practically no experience in the wrestling industry and was thinking he was superior to everyone. That is a guaranteed huge problem in the making.

I don't want anybody to mistake me: I detest Bubba the Love Sponge and am pleased as peaches that he is gone. Using the 'heat is heat' argument that most people in wrestling tend to stick to I can understand the point of where TNA was going with him. He was quite possibly the least likeable person in TNA in the brief time he was there (I think someone could make a strong argument he's one of the least likable people in the state of Florida, somewhere in the midst of a long list of sex offenders) and I suppose that counts for something.

Alright, I think I did a good job setting the platform for someone to come along and support Bubba. Anybody? Show of hands? Yeah, alright, he's a douche who doesn't deserve anything positive to happen in his life; I think we're all pretty unanimous on that.

One more Hogan fluffer gone......WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!

When it was announced that Hogan was coming to TNA my only reservation was that he'd bring his motely crew of useless meat puppets. I fucking hate being right sometimes.

Blubber the Spooge Sponge has no business on wrestling TV. Maybe if he was giving acting lessons, and wasn't such an asshole he'd not be half bad. Being there solely cause you're Hogan's ball tickler is bad business. Na na na na. Na na na na. hey hey hey GET THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!

Bout damn time. I thought he was just awful. Then I heard his radio segment with Kong, and it was just kicking someone when they were down. They said he would love to fight in a MMA match or boxing. Dude, she is gone from the scene, you have a TNA job, and all you have to do is just interview a couple people. Your job is easy, Why pick a small fight.

See you in hell Bubba.

if it's anyone, it won't be dixie. i don't mean to knock her down a peg, but she is clueless when it comes to foreseeing what works and what doesn't.

Thank you TNA,he was a waste of space, sure he helps promote tna with his show, but he was just nothing in TNA, didn't belong there and joining the BAND!! what was that all about.

You have to say, nananana nananana hey hey hey good-bye..

Hogan just got rid of his biggest mistake. BTLS adds nothing to a program. He is a radio personality that no one, outiside of his little fanbase, gives a shit about. So not only does he adding nothing, he takes away. The guy is a liability, especially during a live show. He could say anything.

It was time for him to go. In all reality, it was never time for him to be there in the first place. He is a bitter, bitter man, so I would guess his radio show will consist of nothing but TNA bashing for quite some time. He should be on his knees thanking Hogan that he was even allowed to be on television in the first place. But no. He'll handle it like a 5 year old, calling names and throwing a fit.

The only thing they could have done worse would have been to actually let him wrestle. Thank God we didn't have to see that. It's bad enough we have to watch Hogan and Flair, at this point in their lives, but they are legends. Two of the three or so biggest stars in the history of pro wrestling. Bubba...is nothing. I can't believe I have actually written this much pertaining to BTLS. I'm done. Good riddance.

HOOO F*CKING RAY
maybe Hogan is finally wising up and is actually thinking about TNA and not his "friends"
the guy was a prick, i hated him, the fans hated him, the wrestlers hated him
he was just a cancer great move by TNA
maybe now we can get Hogan to stop putting his face on each and everything

Some new twitters from Fat Boy

i was going to take the high road but looks like tna has fired the first shot.
No Bubba it was the only shot. You are gone fat boy.

Bubba army.let ur feelings known now!! @TNADixie She based my firing on anti bubba tweets.
Bubba Army or Crucial Crew? Who had the worst name and brings the least to TNA's fanbase? You decide. Plus there was only ever anti-bubba tweet.

Bubba Army, you guys are simply the best. Nobody could ask for better fans. TNA fans are nothing but a bunch of little cowardly [EXPLETIVE]
So now he attacks the fans for what? Because we stucik up for the wrestlers and the company that we love as opposed to somebody who brings nothing to a company? Yeah I guess I'm a coward. Love for him to say that to someone's face.

You love oiled up men in tights. You are a douche nozzle that thinks wrestling is real. Get a fucking life. Go away
What 40 year old man uses the world douche nozzle and thinks he's cool? Plus isn't he friends and just worked for a company that employs oiled men in tights?

You're entire life is pointless. Go back to screwing your sister and watching TNA you white trash simpleton
A fat man who wears sleeveless shirts and leather jackets named Bubba is calling someone else white trash? Buy the man a dictionary and a mirror please!
