Bubba replaces JB & Other Bubba Discussion

Buba was fucking awful. He acted like a celebrity trying to shove his way into a job, and even though that's what he is, it looked like shit. JB is far better, and I hope that last night's stuff was just to remind people how important JB is to the success of TNA programming.

He has a chemistry with the roster, he can talk to anyone, without backing down, and he actually asks decent questions. He's a (very) poor man's Mean Gene.

I wouldn't worry all that much about Bubba's presence in TNA. On his show today, he did little more than blast the shit out of the company. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/scripts...sh/TNA/article1009612.shtml&headlineId=474420

The link show a recap of some of what Bubba had to say about his involvement with TNA land not very much of it is pretty. With the exception of Jeremy Borash, Bubba pretty much flogs TNA in general. No big deal to me as it's one less Hogan lackey running around in TNA. Of course, this could all potentially be some kind of work but I doubt it personally.

Bubba should be grateful he got his ass on TV. So should the Nasty Boys, Hall and Waltman, Orlando Jordan, and Val Venis. They should all be grateful to Hogan and Dixie for allowing their ugly mugs to be shown on a syndicated television broadcast. They haven't been worth anything to the wrestling business in many years. The only free agents to show up that were worth something were Jeff Hardy, Shannon Moore, and Ric Flair.

That being said, Bubba gets a lot of face time on TV (free advertising for his radio show), and then turns around and blasts the company who let him do it. Maybe he had a right to, but he is probably confident that his pal Hogan has his back...which Hogan probably does. Still, he should be grateful in some capacity.

That also being said, I hope that TNA keeps JB as the backstage interviewer. He seemed dorky to me at first, but I think he really came into his own during the whole Angle Alliance era. He has a great rapport with many of the wrestlers and can act either confident or intimidated (depending on the performer he is interviewing) pretty easily. Yeah, they will miss Lauren for sure, but they can live without her because JB is solid in his own right.

I really hope JB doesn't get replaced by Bubba.

I love JB's mannerisms backstage and how his interacts with the wrestlers. He doesn't interact with everyone the same and that's what I like about Jeremy Borash as a backstage interviewer.

On his show today, Bubba The Love Sponge, mentioned that he has yet to sign a contract with TNA, because the terms of the contract dictate that he will not be allowed to talk negatively about the company. Not Bubba's style is it.

He also said that Vince McMahon has been in contact. Seems like more worked-shoot nonsense.

Someone call Patrick, and get this fat blob off my TV. His interviews are horrible, and his voice annoys me. He hasn't been involved with the business the way that Borash has, and I think Borash is a great interviewer.

At least his TV time was seriously cut back this week, which is always good. He had one, maybe 2 segments (I'm not keeping count), and was toned down a bit. I'm thinking it was due to editing, but let's hope it continues to get cut...

No dont replace Borash he's awesome and anyway isnt JB like good mates with Double J i doubt Hogan could have that much authority could he????

Hell fucking no. If this happens, then...I really won't do anything. But TNA will be making a very shitty decision. After watching Bubba the Shit Sponge do interviews on the 1/14 iMPACT, I have come to the conclusion that he is the shittiest shit of all the shits as an interviewer. Even on the stupidest episodes of iMPACT, Jeremy Borash was always entertaining with his interview. The only interviewing Bubba The Love Sponge should be doing is with the smelly, gap-toothed crack ****e outside of the iMPACT Zone. Bubba looked out of place when he was interviewing....Sigh...."The Band". Speaking of which, why couldn't they come up with something more creative for the former nWo? Anyways the point is, Bubba is shitty, and JB needs to remain interviewer.

I had reservations about seeing Bubba on my TV on the 4th. He was just in too many segments, and made Borash look like a punk when he told him to back off. First, JB loses credibility when he backs down from a guy whose only audience to that point was his fucking radio listeners. Casual or new fans were probably going "Who the fuck is that guy?" As of now, JB is their longest-tenured and best interviewer. Keep him there for the non-"Band" segments.

Which brings me to my next point. Second, for some odd reason, he just seemed to fit right in with the "Band" during that interview. Apart from demanding an answer on the whereabouts of Foley, he looked like part of their crew, with the leather jacket and the shades and all that. So, I think he could be used sparingly as a mouthpiece for the "Band." That way, Bischoff can remain an authority figure alongside Hogan, and when the "Band" needs to have something said, Bubba can do the talking. And no one in that group appears to have promo skills anymore besides Nash.

Actually, it looks as though Bubba will be leaving TNA. Talk about a short-lived honeymoon.

Apparently the comments he wrote about Haiti really flared up in the company, and Bubba went home and sent his agent to deal with TNA. Doubt he comes back, but honestly, does anyone care? Did Bubba really even matter? Did anyone really think he was a better option than Borash?

IMO, Bubba was just a Hogan crony. I don't think he really brought any major notoriety to the program outside the potential to perhaps bring new fans in via his show.

If they really want to bring in a radio personality, they should go with Rush Limbaugh. At least he knows how to get people to tune into his show, whether he's pissing them off or not. Plus, people actually know and care who he is.

I hope whatever story they're trying to do with Borash plays out quickly and they get him back on TV ASAP. In my opinion, he's TNA's answer to Gene Okerlund. Keeping him off TV for any real amount of time would be just plain dumb.

i heard about Bubba the jizzmop's tweets on haiti, thats really bad for business, especially a new TNA. hope the send his fat ass packing. JB is cool, his segments with foley are usually pretty fucking funny, too bad Hogan and Bischoff are pulling him off of TV.

They fucking "fired" Borash. What the hell? I can see this ending badly, with them putting JB in shit jobs, and he snaps, and they put him in the ring.

Does anyone want to see this? NO. JB is a great interviewer, and the fans all know and love him, so why do this to him, and why do it now? It's a pointless move, and they're going to look stupid when Bubba is gone, and they have only have Christy.

Well he is apparently gone now, which is a shame because I do like JB.

He won't be pushed out of TNA but maybe they're trying different things. Annoys me though because Bubba annoys the CRAP out of me

Goddamnit! I love Borash, I didn't like him when I first started wtahcing Impact but he's grown on me so much. He's pretty funny, and he can be somewhat charismatic without taking the spotlight off the wrestler he's interviewing. I wouldn't say there's a better backstage correspondant-type guy in the business than him, and certainly not Bubba. That guy is a joke, and he's not drawing any publicity (well, not good publicity) for TNA anyway. Hopefully Bischoff, Hogan and co pull their collective heads out of their asses and bring Borash back to on-camera.

Is all the chaos with Jeremy Borash story lines?
Following his story line removal by Eric Bischoff from the interview position in TNA at last night's PPV, Jeremy Borash Tweeted, “Someday I’m gonna host a show where young, semi-exciting television talent is appreciated. Like NBC. Seriously though, gonna take a break from Twitter & FB to regroup. Thank you all for you kind words. Furleys out. O-O”

Ok well this quote clearly states story line. There was something else that says Bubba the love sponge said that JB was pissed.. Again storyline for twitter followers or is this backstage shit.

Hot off of the heels of Eric Bischoff taking him off TV publicly during Genesis, Arda Ocal and Corey Erdman on "Right After Wrestling" (SIRIUS Radio Channel 98), brought Jeremy Borash back to the station where Bischoff once publicly claimed that Borash should never ever appear on any television prrogram. JB talked about the following:

* What his future holds with the company (on TV, web, etc)
* If he will be doing upcoming TNA tours (UK)
* How long he will refrain from social mediums and if TNA brass told him to refrain
* His thoughts on if that worked segment had an element of truthfulness to it

I personally have almost no clue what is trying to be said in this quote but it has to do with genesis and a radio station? Seriously?

What kind of bullshit is that? Is bischoff serious? Borash is GOLD. He is the single best backstage interviewer in both TNA OR WWE. Bishoff is the one who shouldn't be on TV. Hogan too.. they have no idea what they are saying half of the time and their promo's make you wince. They cant even complete a simple generic phrase with out stuttering or an awkward silence.

I just wanna know what the hell is going on with the JB angle. Storyline or not. Seriously confused:wtf:

It's his hateful attitude against JB.

Hogan and Eric did say they will change things both TV and non TV. I guess this is one of the things from turning TNA from Jarrett to corporate Dixie. In 5 years TNA will be like WWE is now. Crap.

I figure it's part of the Mick Foley storyline. Give it a month or so. If JB is still off tv by then, we can discuss how crappy TNA is. For now, lets not believe everything we read about a scripted television program.

... is a stupid, stupid man. His apology was as fake as his credibility. He's as stupid as that Copie guy or whatever he's called - the one who got into the on-air fight with Jesse Ventura. They're the sort of people who get people on-side by vocalising thoughts that haven't been thought through whatsoever, and rely on a "yeah, that sounds like it's correct" mentality which is grounded on ignorance, selfishness and a lust for aggression. He's the sort of person who runs off at the mouth about things he doesn't even know about and then says "AMIRITE!?".

If he has ever been to a devastated third world area and he still made those comments, then I feel sorry for him for not being able to hold a sense of empathy and a stronger desire for a first world country, regardless of any financial crisis, to help out as much as possible. Much more likely, however, he has never been to such a place and thus his comments are completely founded on ignorance and selfishness. He needs to shut up and stick to using his stupid mouth in wrestling where somehow he retains a sense of popularity. It really, really sucks that TNA hired him in the first place, as he is EXACTLY the sort of person that nobody should be forced to listen to.

I wonder how Bubba and Mick Foley get along...

What is Bischoff thinking, taking JB off, i have never seen any bettter backstage announcer, period. unless this is a Foley beating the crap out of Hogan at an upcoming PPV, fire them both now or restrict their creative control of the show and leave it too the producers and head writers.

If hogan and bischoff aren't restricted of power, and TNA starts a downhill spiral, send hogan back to WWE to kill it off once and for all.

If TNA is turned to WWE because of Hogan, Kill WWE cause we don't want two companys with crap wrestlers who care more about what they're gonna buy with their next pay check than entertaining the fans

How about Bubba & Mr Anderson vs Mick Foley & Abyss in a tag Monster's Ball, 2-missing-ringposts-where-the-sun-doesn't-shine match?

Or, just keep the sucker off my TNA TV. That'll work.

from the way it sounds, they are really making it hard for bubba to enjoy his stay in tna. i agree with you that his Haiti comments were pretty ridiculous. his tweets are horrific to read as well. we keep talking about wrestlers hanging on hogan's coattails, but this guy is the leader.

I expect Bubba to be gone pretty soon if he keeps this kind of stuff up. The last thing TNA needs is bad publicity. While I don't necessarily disagree with Bubba there is such a thing believe it or not as having bad publicity and saying Fuck You to 70,000 dead Haitians is bad publicity. Its best if Bubba just kept his mouth shut and if he doesn't want to keep him mouth shut he has to pick between his radio show or TNA because both don't seem to be intertwining very well.

i remember there an article here a few months back, about a plan to take JB off the air... or was it somewhere else i read it???

He shouldn't have ever been allowed in TNA in the first place. Why this man is allowed be part of the wrestling business is beyond me, he has no respect for it whatsoever. And if his Haiti comments can add to him getting fired, then I hope he makes more of them!
