Bound For Glory 2014 LD

The matches themselves have been decent. However, when Team 3D's HOF Induction is being treated as the most important thing by far, I can't imagine that it's going to be an event that'll be talked about for the days to come.

Is anyone else as sick of Tommy Dreamer as I am? For years now all he's done is pay homage to various hardcore legends, talk about how much he loves wrestling and cry about how much respect he has for people.

I'm almost certain that I've never seen Tommy Dreamer deliver a promo other than sad, emotional one detailing how much love and respect he has for *insert subject here*

I'm certain I don't ever want to see or hear another Dreamer promo as long as I live.

The matches have pretty much delivered what we saw on paper.
Shitty phrasing I know.

We haven't really gotten more or less than what we expected.

I can't imagine anyone would other than the people in this crowd and the suspect sections of Philadelphia and New York.

Also, I could've sworn that Abyss was a face, or did I miss when he finally broke Big Show's record for # of turns?

Nobody will believe this, but I'm going to defend TNA here... to a degree.

This is a joint show with Wrestle-1. There may have been some hype around Muta's promotion when it opened and sure, the main page does post some stories on it when they happen, but for the most part W1 has been a failure. They're not drawing large crowds, they don't have very noticeable names and their biggest shows have probably been the ones featuring TNA guys because Japanese audiences like to see American wrestlers, like how say a certain part of American wrestling audiences would like to see Japanese wrestlers, case in point, ROH drew 1,300 in Toronto for Global Wars and 2,600 in NYC for War of the Worlds. Both completely sold-out. Weeks in advance. With the shows happening on back-to-back weeks. Over 5,000 people also bought both iPPV's.

ROH was doing that with NJPW. NJPW has everyone of interest. How many American wrestling fans are going to say, "man I'd love to see Minoru Tanaka!" None. However, judging from the pops they all respectively got when they came over to America for ROH, Okada, Tanahashi, Liger and Bullet Club are in-demand in America.

Here's where I make TNA look like - what they are - idiots. ROH brought over something people wanted to see to places it already has good fan followings in, ROH can draw bigger crowds in NYC than TNA can and ROH runs Toronto a lot. That was smart, because they already had a basis to work off of. They brought over the biggest names in Japanese wrestling. TNA went to Japan, to do a joint show with W1 - it was like throwing water at water and expecting fire. It was never going to happen. To be fair, according to Meltzer there has been a lot of politics involved and Muta is supposedly souring on the TNA relationship a bit, but he knows that other than TNA there is no real promotion he can co-promote with in America. NJPW has ROH, GFW and NWA, NOAH has ROH, BJW has CZW, Dragon Gate has DGUSA and so on.

So question: will the supposed GFW PPV partnering with NJPW fair any better than this?

Depends on advertising, etc. The idea it seems is GFW will be an umbrella group and will showcase different events from their partners on PPV and TV if they get a deal. Will NJPW be advertising it or GFW? Who knows. But one thing I know is, it seems Jeff Jarrett is in the long term plans for NJPW.

Personally I'm interested in seeing how Jarrett works with ROH considering NJPW are supposedly looking to have the ROH World title defended on the January 4 show and have booked reDRagon for an upcoming tour.

That's interesting, I love seeing more Redragon so I'm interested. Though with virtually nothing known about GFW let alone any wrestlers signed I do wonder if they'll address ROH as well.
