Book This! - General Discussion

I just haven't had time for my 2005 thread, but once I get my computer, all systems go. Got the thread all planned out to WrestleMania.

While I don't want to be the burden of bad news, a lot of times overplanning is a reason why BT's fail. People want to get past what they currently have on their plate because they think that whatever they have in the future is more exciting. I know. I've fallen to this as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't have a general outline of things, but (I haven't looked at your thread yet, so you can correct me if I'm wrong) having all of your plans out to Wrestlemania might not be the best of ideas. Take some things in stride, I'd say.

Now, onto my own question. After reading the updated rules, do we HAVE to make our own webpage? I mean, I can if you guys want to, but I'd prefer just keeping everything in my one thread.

Ehh. you don't HAVE to.

Just went reading through the multi-man BT's that used to go around... good, fun times... although we never managed to get one done for a whole PPV cycle. Makes me want to do another one.

If one ever does come up I'm willing to come out of retire and work on a project. So if you do ever decide to do so shoot me a PM about it and I'm most certainly game.

I agree with you, I have an idea of what I want to happen. But it is not set in stone, I can, and will change it. I may be just watching wrestling one day, then bang, I get a better idea than what I had planned may pop into my head. I'm just focusing on the next PPV, and then the one after that.

EDIT: This is the thread link, if you feel like taking a look.

Overplanning can be a huge issue, but the problem for me is two things:

- Getting started (i.e. feuds & storylines)
- Keeping the feud interesting for a pro-longed period of time.

I don't overplan, I underplan with a shitload going on.

Guys, I hate to say it, but I have to quit Booking, turns out I have been diagnosed with Lung Cancer :(. I have had soo much fun here, I'd like to thank Proph for being a great help, and I would like to give all of you guys the best of luck for your projects! But it is time for this bird to fly, no more Booking :(

Beast that is terrible news my friend. Hopefully everything works out for the best for ya mate. I'll keep ya in my prays brother. Stay strong my friend.

Hope it ain't serious and ya get well from it soon Beast.

In other news, my last project fell through. But I have a new one laid out, and I'm gonna have to commit myself to stick to this, as it has alot of potential. It's more of a combo of Indy and TNA guys with a couple of WWE stars. I took a couple of big names, but no Cena, Orton, Sheamus, etc...

I'm gonna work on a backstory and first show here this week.

Get well Beast, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Falk, I would like to sign up for a multiple man project.

Has anyone got a link to some of these from the past? You're all discussing them and I don't know what to look for!

Nice so that would pit four of us (FalK, Prophet, Peep, and Myself) and the possibility of GCB (not sure if he was expressing interest or not). If not I'd be a lonely American amidst a wave of Aussie talent haha.

Hi fellas, I had a doubt....

I am planning to BT and it is set in early 1990s. So, this means I use a lot of currently deceased wrestlers (though they are active at that time). Now, the question is like when the time comes (when they have actually died), should I stop using them?

In other words, just for an example, if I use Eddie Guerrero from 2004, should I stop using him once I reach 2006?

Eddie died in 2005, however it is up to you. Some people don't mind using deceased wrestlers, I for one try not to use them. But it really just comes down to you.

I don't really see the problem with using a deceased wrestler if you are using from a time period where they were alive. And since you are doing a BT prior to the passing and everything is in a different world per se, Eddie doesn't have to die in that case and you could continue using him so. Now if it were a more modern thing then I'd shy away from using deceased superstars.
