Billy Gunn to WWE??

I'm not even sure if Billy Gunn is still an option to get hired by WWE again. I am a fan of Billy Gunn and would love to see him return to WWE, but I'm not sure if it would be a very good idea because of the way that WWE has been treating their performers lately. If he did return to WWE, he'd probably get all those promos (or none at all), wrestle a few matches here and there, and then get released in like eight months time. Billy Gunn was a very valuable asset to TNA back when he first signed with them, but those days are gone and if he does get released from TNA, I would want him to go to where he thinks he'll benefit from more.

Wouldnt it be a great segment if Dolph Ziggler went up to Billy Gunn in his first appearance back on RAW, tapped him on the back and introduced himself? The crowd would pop to see Billy back and then laugh at the introduction because the two look so similar. Billy Gunn would look back at Dolph and see himself in him and then the two become a tag team. That would be good stuff. But, of course, that will never happen :(

No they wouldn't, they didn't pop for him a few years back, so why should they now? There si no way I want Billy Gunn in WWE, especially after his anti-WWE crusade when DX 'reformed' it would seem a bit hypocritical.

after reading everyones comments and thinking about it, i kinda do regret posting this blog, becuse as much as i thought i like Mr.ASS, i am starting to think it wasnt just him, but it was the whole band together at one point, and figuring in WWEs stupid PG rating, this junk deffinitely wont go down

It would be much like when D'Lo returned with a small 'we missed you' cheer, but half the crowd will still not remember him and then, like D'Lo, the crowd will not give a damn again. The audience likes legends, not failed middle carders from the past. At half way to 40 and about 4 years since he's been in the WWE, I don't see a return to the WWE in the books for Gunn. He's well past his prime and offers nothing to the WWE. A D-X reunion is long over, bring them back again with the middle card rejects Dogg, X-Pac and Gunn, just wouldn't suit well with the current HBK and HHH, especially with HHH now officially back to being married to Steph in storyline universe again. Might've worked when D-X first got back in 06, but not anymore.

WWE gave Gunn many chances to be a star and he dropped the ball every time. The crowd liked him, but much like many of the middle carders of the attitude era, never got behind him enough to put him in the main event. He was an average worker and wasn't terrific on the mic, no better than a Venis or a D'Lo and well below Goldust. When Gunn leaves TNA, I'm sure his wrestling career will be pretty much over, save maybe some independent appearances if he still wants to wrestle. So to me he should ride out as much as he can in TNA and retire into the sunset without much fuss.

Best case scenario, he may MAY be a HOF (hey with KoKo getting in, Gunn's accomplishments are boarderline, and he was a member of 3 successful tag teams) it's definitely a long shot and I don't support Gunn getting in, but it's the best and should be the last and only thing we ever does with the WWE again, if it were ever to happen.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that if Kip James gets released from T.N.A, he will infact be brought back to the W.W.E to work under a type of pay-per-show contract. Similar, I believe, to how Goldust and Hacksaw Jim Duggan are with the company.

Billy Gunn's name within the company is still good enough to get a pop from the fans, and good enough to sell small merch. His 'Mr. Ass' shirt was very popular in 1999, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to a similar gimmick, only due to the PG-turn I wouldn't expect the word "ass" to come into play. That could be the only thing that keeps him from a return as what he thrived as.

Personally, I'd love to see Billy Gunn back with the company, but he'll never amount to anything more than an "old school" name with only the bare-minimum of name value to fans. Most in today's industry might even only remember him for being the flaming hair-dresser of the Beautiful People and not the once decent Intercontinental Champion and Tag Team Champion.

Smoking Gunns - 2009 Reunion, anyone? :lmao:

He wouldn't anyway, he was censored by RTC for using that, he may have used it afterwords, I can't remember, but if Billy's not Mr Ass who can he be?

Billy & Chuck again? Smoking Gunn? RokaBilly? The One Billy Gunn? Gimmick infringement there Will!

On a serious note, I see no place for a career midcarder who is 45/46 coming back into WWE, they should be supporting their own young guys, not someone who had a WWE crusade a few years back.

Yeah, R.T.C censored him and the "Mr. Ass" gimmick, which turned him to stealing my name. But because R.T.C isn't around anymore, there would be nothing stopping him from returning as that.

Afterall, the Godfather has returned since his Goodfather days, as the Ho supporting Pimp. So anything is possible. But I do believe the new direction W.W.E is taking will be the new R.T.C that prevents him from using the word "Ass" in his name.

Billy & Chuck again?

To my knowledge, Palumbo isn't with the company and wouldn't return for this gimmick. Not to mention, I question how much Billy Gunn truly enjoys playing the role of a wannabe gay guy.

I would imagine Gay's hate him for being fake. And Straight's hate him for even pretending to hit on them.

Smoking Gunn?

Honestly, they were never a great team. But right now, I'd be open to a Smoking Gunns return just to add to their Tag division.

RokaBilly?

:lmao: NO chance in hell.

The One Billy Gunn? Gimmick infringement there Will!

Agreed. He stole my name, and I'm outraged.

*cough* Goldust *cough*

Just sayin'

The W.W.E will bring in anyone they believe will get even the slightest bit of a good enough reaction from the crowd. They no longer care how old a person is, on whether they'll push them. Or at least use them.

Yeah, Will, but Goldust has aged in the memory of the fans far better than Billy Gunn has. Not to mention, Billy doesn't have a younger half-brother in the company waiting to create a natural feud. If Billy returned, I would predict he'd get even less ring/air time than D'Lo got.
