With regards to the general announcement regarding sexual images, how do you guys feel Google is affecting civil liberties?
Note: This isn't a thread to bash the mods, this isn't their decision, but if you want, you can rag on Larry Page all you like...

I don't really feel Google is directly affecting civil liberties at all. If anything its either the general public or governments that influence google to do such things. Take for example the fact in China google is highly regulated. This isn't google's choice but more the choice of the government. Even in the United States the NSA is what is causing certain companies to be higly regulated. As for the sexual images being "lessened" I don't think it necessarily infringes upon our rights considering that the images are still available it just takes a few more clicks.
 
I mean, I'm not huge on porn, but pretty soon all jeans adverts will end up getting banned...
 
We get money for posting Google's ads. If they don't like the material on the sites they're sponsoring, they can leave. It's business, not civil liberties.
