Best Smackdown Commentator?

This week saw the introduction of Booker T to the announce table. Smackdown seems to like going down the route of getting Superstars to help call the matches. I know he has only had 1 show, but what did you think. Was he has as good as previous Superstars Tazz, JBL, Foley and Striker?

Personally Tazz was my favourite. Him and Cole just seemed to click. The enthusiasm from both was just brilliant back in 2000-2003

I think Booker seemed a little bit nervous on his first night on SmackDown. I reckon once he gets settled he'll be awesome to listen to.

As for the best, I'd say it was JBL. He optimised what a heel colour commentator is supposed to be, and his relationship with Cole on-screen was brilliant.

I LOVE Josh Mathews, this guy is doing a hell of a job, he say somthing and we all listen, is like a family voice, he is TOP right now with Cole, so i dont vote anyone..

what about the Coach...he was a commentator for a short time on Smackdown.

Seriously though, i would say JBL. he was a great heel. funny to listen to and was always owning cole. Mick Foley was good to but none of them were as good as JBL. Booker just got there though, so im sure over time he will get better

I picked Tazz, because out of those listed, he was there the longest. I just associate Tazz with Smackdown whenever ECW was defunct. I do like JBL’s, Mick Foley’s, Matt Striker’s and Booker T’s respective styles of commentating, but The 2nd voice of the Blue Show is Tazz.

I know ill get a bunch of "WTF???'s" for this but id say none of them! I think Michael Cole is the best smackdown announcer ever. Tazz was great with him, and Striker is alright. But i didnt think JBL was good a commentary(which is suprising cause his promos were the only thing about him i liked), Mick Foley kinda sucked and sounded to raspy the whole time, and Booker has yet to amaze me. And for the record i absolutley HATE michael coles current gimmick, but compared to the likes of todd grisham, i think he is the best play-by-play announcer for sd ever. He NEEDS to go back to paly-by-play!

I know it's not a choice, but Josh Mathews. I'm really starting to like his commentating, and he and Booker were awesome on Smackdown last week, so that's a major plus in the right direction.

ok i have to say JBL on this one, and not thinking it for too long, he was a great commentator and he talked like there was no tomorrow, he was heel but not in the annoying way, but heel enough to rip on the babyfaces and recognizing the good things about the heel charactes of the show...

I liked the work of tazz too, but he was to bland on the commentary, he was more naming correctly the moves than giving his opinnion on what was happening, so IMO sometimes it took you off the wrestling with stating the moveset of the wrestlers, but it was still enjoyable commentating...

JBL was by far the best commentator on Smackdown out of ANYONE with the exception of J.R.

He had the experience in the ring to call everything, he was absolutely hilarious, especially when bullying Cole, and he's always been a perfect heel, in and out of the ring.
Taz was good, but Color Commentators really aren't suppose to play face, and that was one of the issues I had with Taz. He was good, but he wasn't great, and he didn't play the foil very well for Cole- though they were a memorable team. Foley is God, but his team with J.R wasn't memorable at all, and Matt Striker, while better than Tazz and Foley isn't nearly as good as John Bradshaw Layfield behind the desk, and I wish very dearly that he comes back at some point.

John Bradshaw Layfeild.

He was so good and the fact that we never got the team of Jim Ross and JBL is a damn shame.

He was the only man to make Vito wearing a dress enjoyable, and he was a huge loyal subject to King Booker. He also knew how it was to be in the ring with the wrestlers. He was a great commentator. I wish he come's back one more time. Maybe the RAW GM?

Well at first Matt striker was a very good commentator and he made lots of good points. But over the last few months he hasn't been as good. I am really starting to like Josh Matthews, he has improved over the last few months. Michael Cole really annoys me. He try's to challenge the faces and always fails apart from jerry the king lawler and he goes on about the miz. Tazz was awesome and for me he was the best. He always got straight to the point and his points were interesting. JBL was also very good. If only he was there he would tell Michael Cole to shut up like he did one time. Lastly its great to see booker t on our screens. He was an entertaining wrestler and has been a 5 time wcw champion so he knows what it is like wrestling. he commentated for the first time and seemed pretty good.

I voted JBL. The guy was a classic & I loved how he kept his original gimmick but could play a heel or face while announcing.

I personally hate tazz, but he is a pretty good commentator and his voice hooks you in.
As much as I love Foley, he was pretty bland while commentating.
Matt Striker is just a bore and he reminds me a lot of Paul Heyman's announcing. He just butts in every now in then with some comment putting a wrestler over.
And Booker looks pretty promising but, and I mean no offense, his voice is a bit to... well... black. He can be a bit hard to understand at times.
