Best PPV Match of All Time

Downward Spiral

I'm Not From Your Country
I haven't seen a lot of the old PPV's so I don't know if this is the best ever, but from what I've seen, the best PPV match of all time was at Vengeance in 2002 - a dvd I purchased a few weeks ago. The match was Kurt Angle vs the Undertaker (badass gimmick) vs The Rock for the Undisputed Title. It had so many near falls and was very exciting and long with good wrestling in it. That is a match that would please all types of fans and so that's why I think it's the best. I know that some of you will know better ones so state them here.

personally my favourite was Austin v Rock at WM17 followed by the TLC at WM17. hell just go watch WM17 add taker v HHH to that you have the best PPV ever.

hmm what a discussion best PPV Match eh ....I would say Austin VS Hart in the I Quit Match ranks up there. Kane vs Shane-O-Mac where Shane jumps off the Ambulance. I also recall a Match tween Jerry Lynn and RVD on a ECW (original) PPV yes Austin vs Rock III was good, War Games and the Match Beyond was great( I love that concept and wish they put something like that in the survivor series) Hart Foundation VS the British Bulldogs and although it wasn't on a PPV the first Match between Sting and Flair that ended in the 45 min Draw. I can go on and on as I remember more of the matches from ECW WCW NWA and WWF/WWE as I have only seen one TNA PPV and wasn't impressed with the Ultimate X match cause the "X" fell off lol other than that hmm can't think of anymore right now so I will leave it as that for now unless I remember more and I will post em oh yeah Iron man Match Hart VS Shawn Micheals with the Overtime.

One of my favorite PPV matches was from WM III. Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat. It seemed like it would go on forever and they sold it that way. When i saw the match i could feel the emotion that the match was built on. That why it was a great match.

Canadian Stampede 1997

Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Davey Boy Smith and Brian Pillman vs. Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, Hawk and Animal

There's been better wrestling match's but for atmosphere you could'nt beat it. It was at the time when The Hart Foundation were heel's and Austin was the ultimate babyface. But being in Canada The Hart's got an amazing ovation. Austin got booed out of the building. This was also the time when WCW was the main wrestling company but in 97 nothing could touch WWE/F for wrestling action.

Bret hart vs Mr perfect at summerslam when bret won the IC title was amazing....steve austin vs shawn micheals for the world title(austin wins austin wins austin austin austin) was amazing even if solely for the fact that micheals's back was torn up....if just for crazy memorable moments, how about Hulk hogan vs UW at WM 6?? Cena vs Triple H at WM 22 had the most insane atmosphere and crowd reactions ive ever heard...Hulk hogan vs the rock at x8....Mankind vs Undertaker at KOR....

one of my favorites was the interpromotional match between kurt angle and HBK and Money in the Bank Ladder match at WM 21

I think the greatest match ever would have to be, wrestlemania 3 wen Hulk Hogan faced Andre' the Giant

For me, wrestling wise, the greatest match of all time is Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle - Wrestlemania 21 --> OMG.

In most recent memory, I would have to say that Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker at No Way Out 2006 and the four way ladder match at Armageddon are the best.

For classics, the greatest matches would have to be Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage at Wrestlemania III and Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat (on more than one occasion).

As for the atmosphere, the greatest matches would definitely have to be Andre the Giant vs. Hogan at Wrestlemania 3, the Rock vs. Austin at Wrestlemania 17, Hogan vs. the Rock at Wrestlemania 18 and John Cena vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania 22. Actually add Hogan vs. Michaels at Summerslam 2005 I think and you've got it good.

Others that were a lot of fun to watch were Benoit vs. Angle at Wrestlemania 17 for the "amateur wrestling" style, the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania 21 for it's high spots, and Hogan vs. McMahon just for Roddy Piper's surprise appearance.

for me.....either

The Dudley Boyz vs The Hardy Boyz
Tables match
Royal rumble 2000

or

Kurt angle vs Samoa Joe 2
Turning point 2006

I also forgot all the TLC's that have been around. They launched the careers of the young wrestlers in them and were filled with entertainment and high spots.

any Rock vs Austin match and tlc's are great and also HHH vs HBK in the last man standing match a royal rumble

Here is my list:

WM2000- 2 Fall Triple Threat Match for the European and IC Titles: Kurt Angle(c)(c) vs. Chris Beniot vs. Chris Jericho.

WM 17: Rock vs. Austin

WM10: Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart

Judgment Day 2000: Iron Man Match for WWE Championship: Triple H vs. The Rock with HBK as Special Referee (plus the return of The UnderTaker)

Invasion: RVD vs. Jeff Hardy

WMXX: EddieGuerrero vs. Kurt Angle and Triple Threat Match: HHH vs. HBK vs. Chris Beniot

SummerSlam 2005: HBK vs. Hulk Hogan

And For Tna:

Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner from Slammiversy 2006

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels Iron Man Match from BFG 2005

HBK vs. Bret Hart - WM12 Iron Man Match
Stone Cold vs. Bret Hart - WM13
Stone Cold vs. HBK - WM14
HBK vs. Razor Ramon - WM10 IC Ladder Match

WM22-Edge vs Foley
WM21-Money in the bank, Kurt vs HBK
WM20-Chris Benoit vs HHH vs HBK
WM17-Rock vs Austin
No Way Out 2006-Kurt vs Taker
Armageddon 2006-Fatal 4-way ladder match
WM14-Austin vs HBK
WM13-Austin vs Bret
WM12-HBK vs Bret
HBK vs Scott Hall- Don't recall arena
Vengeance 2005-Hell in a Cell Batista vs HHH
Backlash-Batista vs HHH
And a lot more!

I believe in WWE was WrestleMania 21 with HBK Vs. Angle, and their match at Vengeance that year. In TNA, the three triple threat matches for the X-Division Title between Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels in 2005 with each of them getting a win.

The original TLC match with thte 3 greatest tag teams ever

hardy's, Dudley's and edge&Christian, can't remeber which PPV though but it was incredible!

Gotta go with RVD/Lynn at Hardcore Heaven 99. WWF couldn't beat it and WCW sure as hell couldn't even touch it.
Co-sign. There were a number of PPVs that ECW put out that absolutely buried anything WCW or WWF ever did...including any of the Wrestlemanias and Starrcades. They just would stack the card with action from top to bottom. Whether it was hardcore matches, technical showcases, import matches (Hayabusa/Shinzaki ruled), or any of the other wrestlers, it just slayed. Whether it was the Lynn/RVD battles, Super Crazy/Tajiri, Sabu/Taz, or one of my personal favorites Awesome/Tanaka, they just put on a card that always made me never regret dropping $29.95 for a PPV. Hell, sometimes I felt like I should've given them more.

Vengence 2001
Angle vs Austin
Jericho vs The Rock
Austin vs Jericho

All in the same night for the indisputed championship. I remember watching this and been so happy jericho had finally reached the top

Kane vs Undertaker Wrestlemania 14 and Triple H vs Chris Jericho Wrestlemania 18 and HBK vs Kurt Angle Wrestlemania 21

Hogan vs. Andre had the biggest impact on the wrestling world but the best has to be Savage vs. Steamboat at WMIII. Don't forget Bret vs. Owen at WMX, a classic technical match. One more to throw in is Sting vs. Ric Flair at Great American Bash '90. Also, the very first war games at Bash 87.
