Attitude Era VS Ruthless Aggression Era

It's hard to go on a wrestling site, watch a wrestling show, or even talk about wrestling without someone saying boy attitude era was the best! pg era sucks!
i hear that way to often, but ruthless aggression is hardly ever mentioned, it seems like people seem to ignore any other era other than attitude, now i personally love the aggression era it was a fresh coming of the wwe, i enjoyed the diva matches, aggression was the new breed, freshness that the wwe needed, but no one really mentions ruthless aggression,
why? is it cause it's to soon to mention it? or is it that the attitude era was so great? I do not like the attitude era as much as a lot of guys do. mostly cause that was way before my time, but even when i watch old matches i'm bored!
so my question is what era is the best? now this can be any era from any time, please give a complete reason?

I agree with your post for the most part. I loved the Attitude Era but when I really became a watch every week kind of fan it was the Ruthless Aggression era I love that era man you had so many new stars rising up you had some of the best matches in history. The stories were a lot more realistic than the AE which was still great but my personal favorite era has to be Ruthless Aggression. I can't say which is the best but I'd like to hear someone say how the AE was better than RA.

I'm inclined to agree with you here, however, what really separated the attitude era from the rest was the TREMENDOUS star power (HHH, Austin, Rock, Ministry Taker, Mankind and DX) and the extreme unpredictability. The Ruthless aggression era was great but who out of that era can truly match the careers that were made in the attitude era? The attitude era was also so unpredictable, you really had to tune in every week to see what would happen. This for me gives the Attitude era the edge over the ruthless aggression era

I agree what made the attitude era the best was the stars that came from it and everyone from the top of the card all the way to the bottom of the card were involved in some kind of storyline, everyone in WWE seemed like they were a part of something but the best part was the unpredictability it kept you glued every week because you never knew what was gonna happen next

I did enjoy the Ruthless Aggression Era and it must have been somewhat difficult for the WWE. Yes, WCW and ECW died but they lost their two biggest names, The Rock and Austin, and had to move to replace them. Indeed, I'm sure they lost many fans in the time period yet still remain popular. The Brand split was something unique and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Raw and Smackdown were both different which is a concept I prefer. I think it is very easy for some to think that after the Attitude Era wrestling became crap and John Cena/PG orientated which simply isn't the case.

I'll always remember this time for two men in particular: Triple H and The Undertaker. This is when they really excelled after, in my opinion, they were in the shadow of The Rock and Austin during the Attitude Era. That might be a little unfair but I think the majority of people remember the 90's and early 2000's for the Rock/Austin/McMahon feud. Of course DX, Taker and Mankind were great but god knows what would have happened if that feud didn't happen.

Triple H and Taker showed how great they were and why they are legends of the business. HBK was there as well and I am very thankful he returned after his injury. They really helped to carry the company and in addition to that we saw very talented wrestlers achieve success -Jericho, Angle, Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio - and of course the emergence of names like Edge, John Cena, Lesnar, Batista and Randy Orton. It might not have been filled with iconic feuds and moments but there were some incredible matches with the aforementioned names. In terms of sheer talent and depth it was impressive; moreover, it was a transitional stage that built some great names that are vital to the WWE in the current day.

I think part of the reason the ruthless era is not brought up as much is because it was more a continuation of the attitude era than anything else. The main difference was no Rock, Austin or Mankind, but the show was still edgy and adult oriented.

for me it breaks down to

Attitude era was OMFG momets constantly and what the hell is gonna happen next and everyone had a shot at the spotlight which is best for business IMO, as a viewer it was tiring trying to keep up with it

Ruthless Agression was more about the wrestling, the matches were overall better and far less they went way too far on that. Plus you had the two groups that were going head to head seperately were now together fora common goal and for the most part it created more of a clash of styles.

Attitude Era for me just cause that was the best time to be watching as a fan IMO RAW was the be all and end all and Nitro was a good alternative for the most part. after that RAW and Smackdown weren't and never have been on equal footing.
