At Least Your're My Hero, Mr. Ham-and-Egger

Cena's Little Helper

Mid-Card Championship Winner
As the title of this post indicates, this is a thread dedicated to those wrestlers who must, more often than not, perform the walk of shame back to the locker room while their opponent basks in the glory of a victory. My inspiration for this thread came while watching an episode of WWF Prime Time Wrestling wherein the Junkyard Dog laid down for the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. While this alone should not have been a cause for concern, it made me think: the only thing of real significance that I could recall the JYD winning in the WWF/E was the 1985 Wrestling Classic. But, even after realizing that I had always marked for a man with an abysmally low win to loss ratio, I could not have cared less. Because of his catchy theme music, because of his terrific and hilarious no-selling of head shots, because of his short but fast jabs, because he routinely got on all fours and head-butted his opponents all around the ring, because he brought in kids from the crowd to dance with him in the ring, because of all this, I always had a soft spot in my heart for the JYD.

So, fellow forum-members, if you would indulge me, I would like to hear of the enhancement talent that you can't help but cheer, even if it is a lost cause. Of course, who you mention does not necessarily have to be someone who spent almost all of his career as a jobber (e.g. Mike Sharpe or the Brooklyn Brawler). It could be someone who either became a jobber once he jumped ship to another company (e.g., the JYD once he left Mid-South for WWF/E) or it could be someone who, as they got older, gradually transitioned into a jobber (e.g. Jimmy Snuka or Hacksaw Jim Duggan).

Actually it's not a singles wrestler that comes to mind as much as the team of B. Brian Blair and Jumping Jim Brunzell, collectively known as The Killer B's. I mean, other than the Conquistadors, what other samely dressed tag team had their been in WWE history that never won a match that wasn't against two journeymen. And it wasn't so much that they lost, but the fact that they put on a full blown match from beginning to end and looked like contenders who were on the very cusp of greatness.

Every time they stepped into the ring, even during their cheating mask days, you wanted to believe in this quick as lightening tag team who brought fans to their feet to cheer them on in battle. They danced with kids. They drew attention. They were super babyfaces. And all of this without having a catchy theme song like Koko B. Ware or Outback Jack. All they had was black and yellow striped shorts and a high flying style that was later emulated by The Rockers and other successful tag teams that actually held gold.

I remember a Saturday Night's Main Event where they faced off against The Brain Busters in a two out of three falls tag team match. I watched as The Killer B's had the first fall stolen from them by an illegal tag. Then I cheered as the B's fought back and stole fall 2 with some slight of hand of their own. And as they sweated, panted, and painfully wrestled throughout the third fall, I cheered for them and prayed that these good guys would pull through and capture the win. But alas my hopes were dashed as The Brainbusters won with help from their manager Bobby The Brain Heenan. I was let down and disappointed. That was, until, I realized later that The Killer B's NEVER won a match against an actual preformed team and that they were just...... talent enhancement.

I always have and always will mark out for Val Venis. Other than squashes I remembeed Val having a decent match with then King Booker in a championship scramble. Val performed very well. If you were not watching Heat The Porn Star never had a chance of winning. I would wager to say that Val would get major female pop if he came out today. And when he set up for the Money Shot, everyone went crazy. Venis accualy made Vicera watchable in the V squared tag team. But alas he was only an enhancement talent so all my support is for naught.

Second an honorable mention goes to Tommy Dreamer. Its a damn shame in the new ECW he will never be anything, but this man embodies the soul of Origional ECW. But he looks to be happy to put over every new heel that enters ECW. But I will always cheer for dreamer.
