Ascension 1 - Big Dave vs Sanna

Leon is standing outside Big Dave’s locker room with a mic ready. He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.

Leon: Hello? Big Dave?

He nervously opens the door to find the room is empty.

Big Dave?

He searches around the whole room but finds no-one there, he walks out of the locker room, closing the door behind him. He’s suddenly startled, for standing at the door is Big Dave, bearing his hoodie, sunglasses, tag title belt and a sports bag. He looks annoyed at Leon

Big Dave: First day back and you’re already a peeping tom, Leon! What in the blue hell are you doing?

He drops his bag and places his title belt on top

I…I was trying to…

Dave places his sunglasses on his head

…conduct an interview

So breaking and entering is the way to do it? As you can see, I’ve only just arrived!

Oh…right, how comes?

Because there was a mix up! I get down to Meltdown with Ace, only for Chuck Myles to go “Woah Dave, you’re on Ascension”. Now as much as I appreciate being on the first ever Ascension, Myles and Bateman need to clear their bookings up! I mean, only one half of the Tag Team Champions on both shows? Bateman should have booked us both to get a solid first show going!

Oh right, I’m sorr…

Being sorry doesn’t make up for this mess! It’s been a long day just getting down here after being at the Meltdown arena only 24 hours ago. I did ring ahead though, I would assume Bateman got my message, right?

I believe he did….Anyway, congratulations on retaining the Tag Team Titles at Civil Revolution! The tactics may have been questionable but…

Dave looks offended

Questionable? Leon, was there a call for a disqualification? Was there anything wrong with the tactics Phoenix & Black used at Meltdown 24? If you claim otherwise, then Ace and I only did what was legal to keep our belts! If they want another shot they’re welcome to it, but we proved why we are the best tag team in the WZCW and made their Second Coming a lay out flop! Now onto Ascension, who am I playing solitaire against tonight?

You’re facing Sanna tonight, standard rules

Sanna? Hmm, an interesting opponent. I have seen only so much of him, but that is the case with anyone seeing Sanna. He’s dark, mysterious, slightly insane but somewhat of a competitor. I’m sure he won’t disappoint me but where you only get a half priced FHD at Ascension, you’re still getting a champion tonight. And the first ever Ascension will be remembered for Big Dave stamping down and checking out Sanna back to the darkness to rethink his tactics of stepping into the light to face me.

Dave looks at the camera

Sanna, tonight you’ll need heart, brains, courage and even your ruby red slippers tonight, as I’m sending you one way through Munchkinland onto the Emerald City and landing back right here at Kansas with Auntie Ann and Uncle Henry! Your yellow brick road turns brown tonight and don’t expect any Wizard to cure your problems. Tonight, the light takes over the darkness, where you’ll fear me the most, I'm ready for you!

Dave turns to Leon

Leon, you may leave!

Leon walks off. Dave picks up his belt and bag as he goes to enter his locker room and closes the door
