Momentum was lost for both these men in Week 2 of the Elite X League. For Week 3, both men look to gain that vital point so they can remain in the running for the Elite X Title shot at Kingdom Come.

Deadline is Tuesday 5th January 2010 23:59 EST

Leon is on-camera, walking through the backstage area before Ascension. As he and the cameraman round a corner, they come to the locker room where Trevor Steel is just about done taping his fists.

Leon Kensworth: Hey, Trevor?

Leon leans into the room a little more, and is surprised at the lack of a response from Trevor.

Leon Kensworth: Trevor?

Still no response. Leon steps completely into the room, followed by the cameraman.

Leon Kensworth: Trevor? Hey, Trevor?

Trevor Steel: What? I heard you! Damn.

Leon jumps, and composes himself before saying anything.

Leon Kensworth: Can I get an interview?

Trevor Steel: I don't feel like talking right now.

Leon Kensworth: I understand, but you have a match next. You have to have something to say, right?

Trevor Steel: I'm pretty sure I said, "I don't want to talk right now".

Leon Kensworth: No comments on your loss last week?

Trevor shoots a glare at Leon, and says nothing.

Leon Kensworth: C'mon, Trevor. It was your first loss here in WZCW. You don't have any comment?

Trevor takes a seat on a folded chair, and grabs his boots out of his locker, still ignoring Leon.

Leon Kensworth: Hmph. What about your opponent this week? USA? He's a tough guy. You could really use this point to keep yourself in competition.

Trevor Steel: You just don't take "no" for an answer, do you?

Leon Kensworth: Don't be like that, Trevor. It's my job to ask questions. We're buddies. Why won't you even talk to me? Want me to send the camera guy for coffee?

Trevor doesn't respond, and slide on both boots, before starting to lace them up.

Leon Kensworth: Well, OK then. You fought your way into the Elite X league, you pick up a huge win over Ace, and then your first loss comes to a former champion, and you throw in the towel? I thought you were better than that.

Trevor pauses for a second, but doesn't break his silence, or even look in Leon's direction.

Leon Kensworth: Does this have to do with Showtime? I thought that was all held up in the legal system now?

With that comment, Trevor stops lacing his boot, and sits back in his chair, staring into his locker, where a picture of Damien is taped up.

Leon Kensworth: Look, I hate to bring up sore subjects, but I need to get something from you. As a friend, not an interviewer, I want to know what's going on in your head.

Trevor goes back to lacing his boot, still not speaking to Leon.

Leon Kensworth: Fine. Whatever. You want to speak, you know where to find me. Good luck tonight.

Leon turns and leaves, almost knocking over the cameraman in the process. The camera follows him into the hallway.

Leon Kensworth: Poor guy. So much going on. That loss really came at a bad time. Let's hope this week turns things around for him.

USA walks out of the ring at Patriot's Gym. One of his soldiers is picking himself up off the mat. USA turns back and salutes the kid, who find the energy to salute back before rolling under the bottom rope into the care of his unit. USA has a big smile on his face as he approaches the camera.

USA: Do you have any idea how hard it was to find someone to mimic Trevor? I needed a big boy with agility that just so happened to be strong as an ox and a little sick in the head. Thank God for family. I had to talk my cousin into it, but he seems to have filled the role quite well. I can't wait to use my Ricky and Everest clones, but first I need to get through this league and capture some Elite X gold.

We're going to go ahead and answer some fan mail. I asked you guys to come down here so the entire WZCW Galaxy can hear some of the things I am told. They are quite touching. As always, these are real letters from real fans.

USA opens a mailbag and pulls out a letter, he begins to read...

Dear USA,

I am a 13 year old Leukemia patient and I want you to know that you inspire me to keep fighting. Your battle against evil is like my battle against disease. I need to overcome it so that I can get on to bigger things. You have taught me that beating evil is not the end, but the first step to making the world a better place. I have a lot in me to give, just like you.

Tomorrow I go in for my last treatment. If all goes well, I will be disease free. If not, the Leukemia will ravage my body and eventually destroy me. I know you face odds like that all the time. Please, write me back and tell me how you stay calm.

Your biggest fan,

Lee

USA is obviously tearing up. But he straightens his face and begins to speak.

Well, Lee, you need to understand something. The battle you fight is not just your own battle. Your friends, your family, and, since you have so much to give, and I know you do, the entire world are fighting with you. I hope that gives you comfort.

Knowing that my friends, my family, and this corps are behind me gives me great comfort as well. This is how I am able to succeed in the face of failure.

Look, I don't always win, but I always compete, and as long as I never give up, those that love me will never give up either. Keep fighting Lee, because those that are with you will keep fighting with you.

Good luck, buddy.

He reaches back into the bag.

Here's a good one. I've been asked this question quite a bit lately.

Yo USA!

Where ya been man? A letter and then nothing. Talk to your fans!

Signed,

Half the freakin country.

Well, everyone, I do need to explain my absence these past two weeks, as well as the General's absence today. You see, I've lost some matches lately. I will never get gold, which means I will never get to share my message with the world if I don't start winning.

My corps has trained hard and is very loyal. Look at them, standing in lines like good Marines. The problem is, some of them lacked the strength, speed, flexibility, or quickness of their inspiration. Well, those guys got reassigned, and we left to find new recruits. We got 1,000 people in Houston, 1,200 in LA, 800 in Vegas, and, get this, 2,500 in San Diego. Of these people, we chose two. We've had to get them in shape, get their minds ready, and get their movements choreographed. It took time. I couldn't have the cameras in here to see my methods, so, I ignored the calls to speak. I figured my fans would rather see my win quietly then lose with bravado. The General is out looking for one more willing soldier while I train our new recruits and prepare my veterans for more conflict.

So, I apologize to those who missed me, but, I was out trying to better prepare myself to fight evil.

And, speaking of evil, we come to Trevor. I know there is good in you, man. I know there is. But, to see you hanging your head over a loss, it makes me think you're weak. I get upset when I lose, but I do not dwell on it. I get back in the gym and get stronger, get faster, and prepare my body. You, though...You mope. Well, if that's how you cope, then fine. The problem is, I don't think you're mentally tough enough to fight evil with me.

You are either with me or against me, and Trevor, at this point, I couldn't let you fight with me.

We are at an impasse. I think you're a good man, I do, but I feel like you are letting all that is good down by not fighting your way through your darkest hour. Because of this, I have no choice but to go out in front of the people and show you how a Marine rebounds from a setback. I lost my last match, and I lost the one before that. Well, now, it is time to come back. The great Marine Corps has not won every battle they've been in, but they have never lost a war. I will not lose this war.

Watch me WZCW Galaxy. Watch me return to glory, watch me raise the flag in the corner, watch me conquer the Elite X league from here until the end.

Now, I have some work to do. Semper Fi.

The Corps responds with a loud Hoo-Rah! and the Trevor clone climbs back into the ring with USA as three men come to escort the camera out of the gym.
