Mike Johnson is reporting that The Undertaker will take on Ken Kennedy in a Last Ride match and MVP will take on Kane in an Inferno match at this year’s WWE SmackDown Armageddon pay-per-view.

Armageddon will take place on December 17, 2006 from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia.

I see this as a big announcement. I might feel like ordering Armageddon, even though I don't hardly watch SmackDown.

Post your thoughts on this.

yea i would order it except for 1 thing: how in god's name is kennedy ever going to last ride undertaker? that is the rules right...to win the match u must last ride your oppenent right?

I will be well pissed if the Power Ranger beats Kane at his own match.

Kane says he wants to help younger guys to get over, very admirable, but it's killing the monster gimmick.

No Ken doesn't have to deliver A Last Ride to Taker to win the match. This is a rarely seen specialty match, think there has only been one or two other ones, where basically to win you have to beat down your opponent and toss them into a hearse, causing your opponent to take their "last ride."

Similar to an ambulance or casket match, and the vehicle is often used as a weapon. Should be cool to watch, and Taker will probably lose this one as they want to give Ken a big push...probably setting up a big match down the road at Wrestlemania or something.

Kane vs Taker has been done twice at Mania already, and they want to keep the streak and The Brothers of Destruction alive I think, so having Taker vs Kennedy could be a good Mania event.

Have Taker and Undertaker and Kane and MVP continue their fueds in singles and tag-team action, leading to a Undertaker vs Kennedy match at Wrestlemania such as a Buried Alive match. Or better a tag-team buried alive match with MVP and Kennedy vs Kane and Undertaker, where to win you have to bury both opponents. That would be cool.

Pretty sure Kane will beat MVP in the Inferno match though...whole gimmick will be shot to hell if Kane keeps losing to MVP.

Just and Idea. BUt if i remember the only other Inferno Match (Kane vs Taker) Kane lost which made sense because he had a long sleeved atire which could be managed and lit on fire without any real harm to kane. So the way i See it MVP who also is wearing a long sleeved atire will lose the inferno match with kane. Which could end there feud and also give MVP a chance to loose the Power Ranger Costume and become a serious force. Again this is just me tossing Ideas together.

Yea it might suck that kane loses but i personally hope he does lose and gets his face burned so that he can go back to the mask and then become like the old kane where no one could stop him. It would be so much better for him to appear out of nowhere in like a month so then he gets the time off that he wanted and goes back to his original gimmick.

they will never put the mask back on kane....and its pretty damn hard to fake a man gettin his face burnt on national tv....theres no reason for the mask to coem back cuz the significance of it has already drifted away...and he wuld have to grow his hair out way long again which wuld take a long time cuz a bald man with a mask jus wuldnt look good

um yah its kinda not his match hes lost all three of them hes been in.

Which is probably why Kane will win this one. And I think the clothing will come into play for MVP as well, as they can do a little pre-match coating on it similar to what the special effects dudes in movies do, so that when MVP gets burned it will burn the clothing, but should not risk him too much...as lighting dudes on fire is usually not reccomended...

I really don't think there is any need to bring back a masked Kane, but a loss in an inferno match could do it I suppose if they ever did want to go this route, and they don't neccessarily have to show Kane getting his face burnt...just show him getting thrown into a locked casket or something and have MVP shove the casket into the wall of fire...casket catches on fire, we assume Kane is badly burnt...leads to masked Kane...but really don't see this happening.

No need for it.

Another match is Finlay and King Booker vs Batista and John Cena, it was announced on last night's SmackDown.

I don't really see the significance of this, John Cena is in another brand, and I don't see a credible interbrand rivalrly coming out of this, especially with Umaga on the warpath against Cena, they shouldn't overuse Cena, but they are doing.

The champion of champions match was great, but WWE should either create a good interbrand rivalrly following that or not make one at all, a half-assed attempt is stupid.

I guess Armaggedon is the PPV where the SD World Champion does not have to defend his title b/c last year it was Batista(c) and Rey Mysterio vs Big Show and Kane. But the Inferno match and Last ride match pays up for that. This time Taker has to win and Kennedy will probably be shifted to RAW or be back in time for the Royal Rumble. I can't see Kane winning the Inferno match b/c this is where he is going to take some time off IMO and if MVP lost, that means he would have to change his gimmick to suit the fact that he got "burnt" which is very unlikely. I wish Cena would stay on his own f*cking brand RAW b/c the Survivor Series crap is OVER! If Vince wanted him on SD he should of had Cena lose against Edge in the TLC match a few months ago then he be on SD all the time.

I see that John Cena is popular, but I think that there's 2 dangers of him being used that much. One is that John Cena might face burnout from constantly performing without rest, and another is that John Cena might become overused which will effectively annoy others backstage and potentially make him unpopular with the fans if he's not able to live up to the expectations of being used as a main eventer regularly. That being said he is a good wrestler, I just don't think its wise to use him in a SmackDown Pay Per View when there are perfectly good wrestlers at SmackDown that could be used.

Not nitpicking but ther has been another inferno match: HHH V kane in HHH' Unforgiven Challenge.

And if MVP gets the 'power ranger' thing burned, it would probably melt onto him........and i wouldn't complain. Dear God, has this man no talent?!! I could probably outwrestle him!!

Ya sorry about the Inferno match thing, I looked it up after I posted it and came to the conclusion that there has been a total of 3 Inferno Matches but I was only aware of 1 of them. What year was the Unforgiven Inferno match with HHH, Id like to see it.
