Armageddon PPV No More as Well?

SmackDown! is MY Show
From WZ.com

Dave sent this in: I might be wrong on this, but at the present moment, Armageddon 2007 is not scheduled to be held. The event, which was due to be at the Mellon Arena has not yet been confirmed by - their official website, or WWE.com. With only three months until the event, it looks highly unlikely that it is going to be held in 2007. If it is not held, that means that there will be no Pay-Per-Views between Survivor Series 2007 and Royal Rumble 2008.

Its true i checked on wiki and they don't even the the December ppv listed so this leads to believe that WWE has decied to do away with the annual December PPV or come up with a new name for it. But I for one like it as they normally don't do much in December anyways as most RAW's are typed for the Holiday season. So maybe it will give the wrestlers some more time off.

It's a good idea to not have as many PPV's, though Armageddon was one of my favorite PPVs, as they usually had something crazy involved. But if they keep cutting things, hopefully they'll build feuds up for longer so the one match counts the most. Maybe a PPV every other month would be good - I don't want to see too many cut though, feuds that go on and escalate for too long do get annoying.

But anyways, I'm disappointed to see Armageddon go, but not against the WWE for cutting back PPVs.

I always thought that Armageddon was one of the better annual PPVs. It was always a good way to end the year.

Why is WWE cutting out three PPV"S in a row? True, having 4 PPV's in six weeks is too much, but there's enough room for Survivor Series and Armageddon now that December to Dismember and New Year's Revolution are gone. Armageddon is the perfect place to have the annual Elimination Chamber. Now where are they gonna have it?

No chance in hell the WWE is not going to have a Pay Per View between Survivor Series in late November and Royal Rumble in late January, that's for sure. I don't know what's going on and why they don't have Armageddon or NYR listed or whatever, but there's definitely going to be a PPV in there somewhere, unless the Vince has changed his mind about a WWE "off season" and this is going to be it.

I think this is both a good and bad idea by WWE. While there are definately too many ppvs, I don't know it cancelling 3 in a row is the answer. Wouldn't it be better to spread them out better instead of cancelling Armageddon? Starting with Summerslam and running until Survivor Series, there is a ppv every 3 weeks. That's nowhere near enough time to set up a good storyline for a ppv match. Why not just make it 4 weeks and then have Armageddon as planned?

I think in the end WWE will end up keeping it. They just scratched NYR so it opened up a little room from SS until the Royal Rumble. If this does happen Good for WWE to be getting rid of a few PPV's although ONS and Cyber Sunday would be make more sense IMO. Storylines up until the Royal Rumble will get good proper build up instead of just being thrown together and rushed but then again that leaves a huge gap to fill in between November and January so maybe a name change is possible.

WWE should at least narrow the schedule down to 1 PPV a month and possibly even cut No Way Out as it always seems to be useless unlike Armageddon as it is a better spot.

Maybe WWE is considering on giving us fans a free PPV ala UFC. Considering it's in December, and December PPV Buyrates aren't traditionally that good. Maybe WWE will tape it when they go back to Iraq for their traditional salute to the troops Raw special and then air it the following Sunday on USA for free.

Or maybe they still plan on having Armageddon but it's just not listed yet. Who knows?

For what it's worth, I am a fan of Armageddon. I went to Armageddon 2000 and 2004, and had a blast both times!

If this is true that's a great thing. Not only are there gonna be less PPV's in WWE which was a huge problem, now apparently the WWE might have some small off-season for some of its performers. If this is true they should move the Royal Rumble up, instead of having it on the last Sunday of January make it of the second. This is probably just a rumor since it's very unlikely for the WWE to cancel 3 PPV's in a year (December to Dismember, Armaggeddon, and New Year's Revolution).

No Mercy, Survivor Series & Armageddon
Live on Sky Box Office

Sky Box Office is the home of the biggest WWE events.

Throughout 2007 we have shown you Wrestlemania 23, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble and many, many more events from the squared circle across the Atlantic.

There are three more events left on Sky Box Office in 2007 and we are offering you the chance to buy all three of them for the price of two.

That's right, you can book No Mercy (October 7), Survivor Series (November 18) and Armageddon (December 16) for only £29.90.

^^
I found that on Sky Sports (UK), doubt they'd make you buy something they are not making...

If it's true, I'm glad to see it go. It says taht someone really likes the concept of Cyber Sunday as well, which that pay per view can be one of the better ones if the WWE...does it right of course. This gets rid of Armageddon, so no pay per views in December, plus say goodbye to NYR, so essentially, you have no pay per views from Survivor Series to the Royal Rumble.

That is really good news, now, if they get rid of No Way Out, then that will mean a long stretch of times to build up matches for Wrestlemania, instead of crappy filler pay per views blowing any momentum being filled. So essentially, you have No Mercy and Cyber Sunday, which will see the end of the current storylines, most likely with Orton winning and the Undertaker winning. I'd imagine Orton is going to drop the belt to Triple H soon after, so this gives the WWE damn near 4 months to set the card for Wrestlemania, without crappy filler pay per views in the way.

Not to mention WWE programming at the end of the year is pointless anyway. The WWE should go off the air in mid-december, and not come back until a week or two after the new year. This gives guys a month off to heal and get ready for the homestretch on the road to wrestlemania. Wow, I said something nice about the WWE.

You've got to be kidding me! Armageddon is one of my favorite PPVs in the World Wrestling Entertainment! For example, last year there was an Inferno Match, Last Ride Match, Fatal-4-Way Ladder Match and Batista/Cena vs. Finlay/Booker! The year before that, they had Orton vs. The Undertaker in the final encounter Hell in a Cell Match! I understand why they would remove New Years Revolution and Cyber Sunday but not Armageddon.

I also think its a good idea to get rid of it. Too many pay-per-views gets really boring after awhile and in my opinion is why we dont have fresher fueds and good build-ups because we have a pay-per-view every 3 weeks. Free'ing up space makes room for longer hype and more fueds.

Awesome, yea I also bought my tickets a few days ago and it is my first PPV I'll be going to. And they can't get rid of it. It's the last PPV of the year. Theres even talk of scrapping NYR..
