are the tag titles considered one?

Sora/roxas

Now the tag titles were unified back at wrestlemaina 25, but they still use both belts. Does this mean they can be defended seperately? Or should the WWE finally get rid of those belts and make one sinlge design for the titles?

What are your thoughts?

I don't see the need to merge them together into one championship belt, they look pretty good already, and I've always liked the fact that someone is walking around with two belts at once.

Also the championship belts would not be able to be defended separately because they are unified, the name in itself says it, and in order to remove the unification I think it would require that the general manager breaks them up.

Besides I can't see why WWE would want to get rid of the two championships to merge them into one, considering the fact that they're not trying to remove one of them in terms of introducing a new championship belt to erase the existence of one of the belts that were unified. (Undisputed championship being made to fade out the WCW World Heavyweight Championship if I remember correctly).

No, of course not, they can't be defended seperately...they have been unified...like Ferbs said..its in the name...

As for making one title instead of a wrestler carrying 2...I wouldn't like that...I like both belt designs and they have been around for a long time...I wouldn't want them to get rid of just one belt, e.g. the original smackdown belts...then people will be saying Raw is the better brand etc...

When I thought of the idea..i was thinking it's a decent idea..and why not have it done...

They have 4 titles right??
2 world tag titles (Raw)
2 tag titles (Smackdown) - I know they aren't branded now but im just saying..

Why not take 1 world title out and 1 tag title out...then you will be left with one each...and the name plate could read the teams name e.g. JeriShow, Hart Dynasty, Uso's etc...

I think that would be a much better idea..the only weird thing would be, you have two belts which are the same, but have a different design to one another...

What do ya think??

i like them being together, but the only concern i have is that they will be tossed around too much.....these titles should stay on the champs twice as long if you ask me because when someone wins them they automatically add 2 tag team title reigns at the same time.....so with big show winning them twice in the past year he has added 4 tag title reigns.....i understand thats the point of the undisputed part because when jericho won the undisputed title it added 2 world titles to his resume......the hart dynasty needs to hold onto it longer to prove they are deserving of 2 title reigns instead of holding it for 3 months and then dropping them.....the average for these tag title reigns should be like 5 or 6 months....

I think that having 2 belts on you make you look more dominant. I remember when I saw the Miz with 3 belts for the first time and thought to myself - WOW, the Miz must be really good.

And the general idea might be that they might split them again later on. I mean they are kind of building tag-teams now(Uso's,The Dudebusters,Harts), maybe if they build enough tag-teams they will split the titles up so there are more titles to compete for.

I'v gone a bit off-topic, its obvious that the tag titles are considered one, hence the name - Unified.

Why should they merge the Championships? having two belts apiece makes the current tag team champs look even more dominant. You see someone with one belt and it is normal. You see someone with two belts and it makes them stand out and look like the cream of the crop. They may mean the same thing but that much sheer gold looks impressive.

Also, if they decide to ever split the championships back into one per brand, they wouldn't have to do any work. Just wait until the draft and have one tag champ on Raw while the other gets drafted to Smackdown or vice versa. They could be fed up with one another and take a set of championships to the other show.

Point being once you merge the championships it is pretty much permanent. When you keep them separate you can split them up. They don't want to make the move permanent when in the future they are able to split the belts up and make more money off of them.
