AoN Discussion: SaboSax vs. The Bearded Gents - Tag Team Titles (Battle Bowl Final)

The impromptu divide of Strikeforce led to the vacancy of the WZCW Tag Team Championships. A great Battle Bowl took place where eight teams competed in a tournament to capture the titles. We now have our final two teams, SaboSax and The Bearded Gents. Both teams met in single completion this past week and the score was evened out 1-1. Now, manliness, smooth talking, and flexible spandex will collide in what is one of the most anticipated Tag Team Title matches in the history of WZCW. Can SaboSax join an elite class of Tag Teams and become Tag Team Champions twice, or will The Bearded Gents do the unthinkable and run the table?​

I'm loving this match right here: two excellent teams going head-to-head with each other. The Gent & Saboteur seem like caricatures whilst Beard/Saxton are the muscle/strong fighters of the group. These guys are very similar to one another that it's almost scary. Both teams are looking forward to this match and so is everyone else.

The Tag Team titles are an added bonus element with the Battle Bowl giving this match some steam for the PPV. Both teams are tied with 1 victory a piece and its almost like the decider between these two. It fits the theme of crowning the new champions and I'm thinking that Saboteur & Saxton are going to reclaim their titles. Bearded Gentlemen are tough but quirkiness will take this match, I believe. Sorry guys.

Sax and Sab have a lot more riding on this match than Beard and Gent do. If Saxoteur wins, it would be really, really hard to argue against them as the greatest tag team in WZCW history. Two reigns, at least one of them being at least up there in the longest in history (I can't remember if it is #1 or not offhand), and being completely dominant at times.

If Bearded Gent win, it will be a huge win for them. If they lose, however, there's no shame in being defeated by a team like Saxoteur. Both teams will bring it and the match will be great, but all the pressure is on Saxton and Saboteur here.

Real pressure on Sab Sax here, it all depends on how they approach their RPs. If they go down the route of their dinosaur RP, comedy adventure but unfocussed, they could lose. It would be a shock but it would really freshen up the picture of the division. If we see a clear and interesting story then there's never been a better team for it.

BG are growing better with every show, their confidence should be high. I expect this to be very close.

On paper this is Saboteur and Saxton all the way, but I'm not sure they've ever faced a duo quite like the Bearded Gent before, and I think that gives the facial hair enthuiasts a slight edge. This was by far the most intriguing new match-up to emerge from the tournament and I'm glad it's come to this given what ultimately hapened with the original New Church team. Let's hope it's a tag battle for the ages.

Opinion of a tag team legend incoming.

Getting serious for a minute, I can't wait for these RPs. I have a lot of experience with both sides. I have been involved in 5 total tag team matches with Saxoteur, 3 times it has been a straight up 2v2, once was an 8man tag, and once a four corners match. I also took on each member in singles matches. I have been involved in three tag matches with Beard. Each time I pulled out the win it took some of my best efforts.

I think both teams have had instances where they wrote RPs that weren't great, but when they are on each team can knock it out of the park. Saxton and Saboteur care a lot about their legacy so I think they come out on top.

Loooooooove this match up, I'm so glad Beard and Gentleman reached the finals. I love both characters, TBK has always been humble and a treat to converse with, and Theo is my homie. I always kept an eye on their team, even when they were kind of on the lower end of the tag team division, knowing that once they put it together they would be a force to be reckoned with.

And of course Sabo/Sax. I really don't need to speak anymore about how awesome this team is and what they bring to the table with RP's. While some times they're way out there, you can't say their RP's aren't entertaining as hell. They bring a unique factor to the fed that I will admit I wasn't a big fan of, but I'm converting over to the side. There's always room for a comedic side of the fed that needs to balance out the over seriousness that we've often put on here in WZCW.

I'm going with Saboteur/Saxton for the victory here. Nothing against Gentleman nor Beard, but Sab/Sax is just an absolute force in the tag division. The Bearded Gents are getting better, but knowing Doc and J they got something epic in mind for this match. This will be a fun match, and hopefully we can keep it going a bit longer after AoN no matter which way the match ends.

Hard to really pick a winner here, I like both teams but I'd give the slight edge to Sabo/Sax though I think a more interesting story would be BG winning making the former champs question if they should continue being a tag team only to finally regain the belts and be happy again at KC.
