You're going to hate this answer but, as long as Dagger's warnings/infractions are in compliance with our rules, then no it's not a problem.
He also retaliated against a person in real life who wanted to fight him by saying "Verbal Hadoken" or something like that. Dagger is one fucking weird, creepy mother fucker.

We can't just ban for the fuck of it. Remember D-Man once baited Zeven Zion here and then he admitted he trolled the forums. D-Man banned him even though it was said in the Bar Room and there really wasn't much wrong with his posting so it was reversed.

Sad to say but yes, I'm 100% serious. He admitted this. We never even asked him about it. He just offered up that information and further showed us how fucking strange he is.
For the record, I never "baited" him. I started a thread about how much of a complete douchebag he was, he showed up, and then flat-out admitted that his purpose on the forums was to stir up drama and troll everyone. He basically admitted it in plain English with little instigation from me and I pointed out how it was clearly against the rules.
While I had good reasoning for banning him a better argument was made about why I shouldn't have banned him. I agree with explanations on both ends so I left it alone.
More Infractions for legitimate rule violations are given in one hour than the number of times one of the rules you mentioned are invoked in two years. We keep those rules for our benefit, because it sets a standard of expected conduct.
I realize that. But at the same time, it's hard to stomach D-Man defending the rule "book" when you can clearly differentiate between the actual rules and the "if we wanna do ya, we'll do ya" rules.
I have no real issue with the rule book. Just mods getting on their "he broke the rules, don't you dare complain" high horse when some of the rules are so vague that we've all broken them. I think if people want to have a discussion about what the rule book makes feasible for the mods, the mods really don't have much of a leg to stand on. The rule book does give you guys a tonne of leeway.

I understand what you're saying here, but you're comparing two different situations.
Whenever a mod says something like that, the mod is speaking of very clearly defined rules, not the ones you mentioned.
I would say it doesn't close any options for moderators to deal with problem posters. Sections 1 and 2 are essentially the rules the forums runs by and the rules which are enforced. Section 3 is more of the "reserved powers" the Staff chooses to retain.
I understand completely what you're saying, I'm just saying Section 3 isn't so much about "gotchas" as it is removing posters who TECHNICALLY follow the first two sections of rules, but clearly is only here to cause mischief.
