Recognizable finsher and recognizable gimmick I agree with, but as for a recognizable entrance being a necessity in getting and staying over, I have to disagree. Sure, if you're given the HHH, Undertaker, Hogan treatment where every walk down the aisle is a spectacle, it can only help you, but at the same time I used to HATE when Hogan or Taker would get assaulted or screwed and they come out posing and slowly walking to the ring.. Like come on, aren't you pissed? Run down there and beat somebody's ass for gods sakes. Basically what Ambrose is saying is that, in his belief, his entrance every week is going to display Ambroses mood whether it be happy, angry, etc. he doesn't want to get stuck in the same route that so many other people have gotten in such as Cena and Shaemus. If you are over with the fans, no matter what entrance you have, as soon as the music hits you're going to get a pop.
I don't see it as Ambrose being "too cool" for the WWE promotional machine. I see it as Ambrose trying to control the creative aspect of his character and career as much as possible, which is very smart imo. It makes sense to want to take your destiny in your hands as much as possible, no?
