Amazing Red wins TNA X Division Championship in NYC

Well it's like i figured. Jay Lethal just won the title back from Red tonight in New Jesey. Nothing more than a little thrill for the House Show crowd. Although it would be more intersting if every title (even the world title on special occasions) did change hands every so often at a house show.

BREAKING NEWS: Jay Lethal defeated The Amazing Red on Saturday night at the TNA Live Event in Rahway, New Jersey to regain the X Division Championship!

This is fresh off the TNA Wrestling Facebook page. I had a strong feeling and like some of you stated that Jay Lethal would win back the X-Divison title during the live event tour.

Like I stated earlier I think the whole reason for the title change in the first place was for the anything can happen feel. It also adds a good bit of excitement for the fans attending a live event. I attended one last week and I remember saying to my friend as I walked it,"Its not like were going to see any titles change hands tonight". I guess I won't say that again.

BREAKING NEWS: Jay Lethal defeated The Amazing Red on Saturday night at the TNA Live Event in Rahway, New Jersey to regain the X Division Championship!

Much like I said previously several posts back, Lethal regained the title in his hometown. It was done purely as a way to hype house shows, and make it seem like anything can happen at a house show, while letting Lethal and Red pick up big wins in their respected home towns.

I'd forgotten Lethal had won it until he was mentioned in this thread. That's how little I care about him. For a guy who has little personality and, realisitically, is going to sink or swim on the laurels of his ability to entertain in the ring, I've always found Lethal to be rather bland. Red at least has the ability to fly and amaze with the best on national television these days, which is why it's always surprised me that TNA doesn't use him more. Ideally, you want to put people on the screen who capture the imagination. Red does that. Lethal doesn't. So if you want someone to reignite interest in the in-ring aspect of this division, Red is really the best choice at the moment. As such, I hope he doesn't drop back to Lethal too quickly. Aaaannnd... shit, he already has.

I woundn't mind seeing the belt on Williams, Kendrick, and (in the future) Shelley, as they have great personalities that can still do a tonne for the division. But that's beside the point now.
