AJ's Attacker Speculation

First off, to whoever said they think it's Shannon Moore, I hope that was a joke? Do you really think/want someone like Moore to come in and challenge your champion off the bat?

Moving on.

Like everyone said it seems like it's Tomko, but again, is Tomko the kind of guy you want coming in and challenging your champion?

Either way, I can't really see this being all that interesting. I don't think it's going to be a huge reveal or that big of a deal. It's just going to be another feud. But, if it is Tomko, they certainly are dropping the ball with AJ as a champion.

I'm thinking that it's Sting but if the attacker is bald headed, then I'm assuming it'll be Frank Trigg since Trigg and AJ have some history as well.

Apparently his attacker has the ability to change heights and weight...This leads me to believe that there's more than one attacker. Tomko seems to be the word around the campfire, but I'm not sold on it, after he cut the promo a few weeks ago.

If it's not a group of people, then TNA really dropped the ball on selling this as a single attacker...

I still think it's Tomko, and I still think my story-line still fits, although not exactly seeing as Joe has been written out of the story line so far to this point.

The body-type and build is a big guy, and unless this is a Hogan thing with one of his cronies (I seriously doubt they plan it as Hogan himself), Tomko still makes the most sense seeing as like I stated a few weeks ago, A.J. and Tomko have a long history of being very close friends, and having A.J. "lose" both his best friends in the same year would really elevate the story to a new height.

The height and build of the masked man looked very similar to tomko's. But then again, there might be some other wrestlers with a similar build. Or they might change the guy behind the mask every time just to mess with us!

Nathan jones retired immeadiatley after wrestling 3 matches for world series wrestling Against lee star and mark hilton
He is definitley retired and is a FULL TIME actor.
The last i heard tna and wwe wanted to sign him and he turned them both down.
As far as this attacker is concerned no one has mentioned goldberg, hes big, bald and extremely aggresive and was rumored to be joining tna.Although tomko is the best choice,he turned up on impact seemingly as a face but I think it is him or maybe scott steiner lol.

If it's anyone, it's not Hulk Hogan. After that little tour of his, he's nearly crippled in half. He won't be wrestling or at least not for a long time. So we can just rule him out.

Who do I think it is? I say it's Ken Anderson. I say that if TNA is really going to do the nWo rebirth thing right, then they've got to have some young blood in there too, and Eric Young is too busy with the World Elite to do shit. And Ken Anderson is young, but still credible. He's recognizable, although not by much, people know him. He has mic skills, he has the build, he has the in-ring skills, and he's not a talking purple dick. That's always a plus. Anyways, he has all the tools that TNA should look for in a person that they want to stock their future in. So Ken Anderson is likely the attacker.

Or Awesome Kong. I hear she's been stocking up on the Slim Fast.

I am going to throw a curveball in this mix. I am going to go out on a limb and say the attacker is probably someone who hasn't been mentioned.

My reasons being

1. Since they gave the attacker a hood and a full face mask, he might have hair.

2. He kinda has a similar build.

3. They want to surprise the hell out of you and make him a heel. (But I think it's a bad idea.)

4. He can come into TNA and be in a main event title feud and still have some credibility as a contender.

5. He is a proven draw.

6. He recently said he will be at the January 4th show.

If you haven't guessed by now, my pick for the attacker is.................................................................................................................ROB VAN DAM!

RVD would be the best thing to happen to tna. If he was the attacker, wow! Imagine the matches between styles and rvd. That alone would make me tune into tna. RVD is my favorite. Im a big time mark for the guy. If he does sign with tna, this would be the way to go. However, i think it's probably going to be tomko.

I figured with January 4th quickly approaching, this discussion needed to be reignited. I'd bet that if this angle isn't dead in the water, we'll find out this Monday who it is.

Hearing that RVD has signed on for the show, I'd take a wild guess that it could be him, leading to a one-off to main event the show. If it isn't him, there's always Tomko, but he's been pretty much gone since appearing for that promo.

As long as it isn't Hogan, I'd be OK with anyone being the attacker.

Although this angle seems to have basically fizzled out, I would still like to for it to be Tomko. Where he was never really seen as a main eventer, I believe he could pull it off for a match or two. Hell, you could even have him and Samoa Joe be working together to take down AJ.

If RVD appearing Monday though, that'd make me MTFO if he was the attacker. A match featuring himself and Aj Styles would be of epic proportions. I'd hope that it would be more then just a one off though.

I think they probably will change it from Tomko to someone else. I hope it isn't Joe or Daniels, because that would be too obvious. It would be sweet if it was RVD, but people wouldn't boo RVD they would probably boo AJ.

I hope they didn't bury this storyline already, it could really help elevate a new feud. Hopefully the stalker will be revealed on Impact soon.

I say it might be Angle as he had a confrontation with AJ saying he wanted a match for the title, what better way to increase his chances than by attacking the champ

This is so funny but i think reading into it thats there more than one attacker. To me it just shows more of the same lack of decision on TNA's part and the hold that was put on further storylines after the return of the great big red hype machine. Nothing more nothing less. I expect that it will end up being Tomko as speculated ... or just swept under the rug and forgotten depending on the direction of things after this monday.

Thanks, NSL, for reigniting this discussion. I strongly believed at one point that it was both Daniels and Samoa Joe. I thought it was fishy that when Daniels claimed innocence, AJ was immediately attacked; when Joe claimed innocence, AJ was immediately attacked. Coincidence? I think not.

I think this angle was mostly dropped, though. AJ hasn't been attacked in a while. Unless the attacks are happening at the end of the show, which my DVR is rudely cuts off. :(

He hasn't been attacked, but they keep mentioning it, and it was part of the build up to the main event match for Final Resolution. They kept putting it in the highlight video, so they're hinting at Daniels being involved, but not saying it directly.

I wouldn't be shocked to hear it was a mix of the two, but the one main time AJ was attacked, Daniels and Joe were both on camera, so it would have had to have been a third person. It could be someone they "hired", or it could be totally unrelated, but we shall wait and see.

It has to be Tomko.
The guy is bald and has big fingers like Tomko.
But I don't know what impact would have at this moment.

As someone so eloquently put it in the LD "The crowd goes mild!".

Tomko being the attacker surprised nobody, but they really did it the wrong way. Standing over AJ, and pulling off the mask is one thing, but to say absolutely nothing was a bit odd.

The vignettes they showed made me feel like they were trying to attract mindless apes as fans, since it's obvious everyone knew he was the attacker, before the big "reveal". He could have stood over AJ, grabbed a mic, and said everything he said in the vignettes, while saving us 5 minutes of his face on our TV.
