AJ STYLES - should he come to WWE?

I think a bigger question is does the WWE want AJ Styles?

I'm not disparaging him as a wrestler by any means, he is arguably one of the best guys TNA has right now (possibly, within TNA itself one of the best TNA stars ever? - had he had a career in WWE like he has in TNA he would be a sure-fire HOFer already.)

But here's the thing.

AJ is no spring chicken. He's 35 already and maybe, MAYBE has 5-7 years in him before he should be considering retirement. Add to that the points that Jack-Hammer made about sending guys to FCW and the expectations he is likely to have about pay and place on the roster and his chances of being a worthwhile investment for WWE diminish. Add in that this isn't the Monday night wars, so poaching another company's star doesn't draw anymore. (if it did, TNAs ratings would surely be higher) and it becomes an even less promising investment.

Styles is talented and if he were to jump ship to the 'E I have no doubt he would do well - he would likely go straight into the upper-Midcard, roughly where Punk was before "that" promo. The question is knowing that a) stealing him isn't likely to be a draw and b) he probably has five years maximum left in him. I would say that the WWE is less inclined to sign him in any circumstance (barring of course a total financial collapse of TNA, and even then I suspect he would be fourth or fifth on the list of targets for WWE)

great another week... another AJ Styles to WWE thread. this one isnt even disguised well.

as for the OPs post, Yes I think it is a shame how AJ Styles is not in the main event scene in TNA, he was their biggest home grown star before bischoff hogan. however, WWE Champion? no... at least not right away, he needs to prove himself to WWE audiences, most of them dont even know who he is. I would say he might have a very similar path to what Daniel Bryan has acheived, yet, he would be too little to late Im afraid. The Main Event scene in WWE is deffinantly crowded right now, with the exception of the suspensions

:lmao:

cmon man U cant be serious.:icon_neutral:

That guy is known to wwe universe quiet well coz they know abt tna 2.
every wrestling fan knows who AJ styles is :D
He can perform as good as any1 else in wwe roster or in the world, today he is up ther with the likes of top notch stars of pro wrestling.
As far as wwe is concerned they have lost most of ther main event guys and if u talk abt ziggler to be the champ thn this guy is 10folds better thn wht ziggler is.

Well like he said, WWE will throw away his conrtact. If he came he'd probably win the U.S or IC title only and then released.

WWE is trying to get hold of guys like AJ from TNA because they don't have enough talent of their own.

BTW, i'm not a TNA fanboy, I watch both WWE and TNA. WWE has the entertainment while TNA has got the talent:p

you just described most of the WWE roster or lol, and i'm a WWE fan.
disagree that he doesn't have the look or the size
agree on the inabilty to cut a promo

AJ is phenomenal and what he does best, perform in ring. everything else he s just another fish in a big pond full of sharks. least in TNA he's one of the bigger fishes just by tenure alone.

WWE would likely welcome him with open arms now he's made a name for himself and since they script most promo's he would get assistance in that area and who knows they could make him a bigger star but personally i would have him only as the 2nd tier champion that's where he shines or in TNA have him as TV champ or XDivision champ.

anyway it's a moot point, don't think AJ has the heart to leave TNA even if he was offered more money and promises, he's a company man and has been since day 1. and knows he would get underutilised because he isn't all that overall.

I just described most of the WWE jobbers. Take Tyson Kidd. He's as good in the ring as AJ Right now, has a slightly better look and is better on the mic. AJ is short, stumpy, has a little boys hair cut and couldn't talk to save his life. People can point out Daniel Bryan, but DB can talk. DB could always talk. Even in Ring of Honor AmDrag was a pretty good promo guy in his own way. The "You're gonna get your F@#King head kicked in" chant he started was hilarious. AJ couldn't get himself over on the mic to save his life. I remember in his prime when he first turned heel and he cut some goofy promo on growing up poor without air conditioning. It was a terrible promo but it must be the best promo he's ever done because it's the only one I can remember off the top of my head. In the WWE if you can't work the mic, you're not going anywhere.

AJ to wwe would be a bad idear and i dont see it happening any time soon or even ever i think he is TNA, i think TNA is in his blood like wwe is for som many others. its not like his not making money and i know if her went to wwe he would be given more but i think his at TNA for the love of wrestling and the love of TNA. i dont think wwe would have any use for him how or wear woud they fit him in, he has got to be in the top 5 wrestlers of today and i think wwe would love to have him, but i feel he would join have a small run and fade in to the mid cards, i hope TNA use him right soon tho

I have seen this repeated so many times. AJ Styles is an amazing athlete and the things he can do in the ring leave people with their jaw on the floor and he was one of the main factors of making TNA what it is today however.. AJ Styles should not now or ever go to the WWE.

I mean sure it gives him bigger exposure but at what cost, leaving something that made him who he is behind and all of his friends behind. He would be underused and wrongly used in the WWE it would be a bad move.
