AJ Styles income.

I don't know if the E would be that into AJ Styles. He's pretty much a white Kofi Kingston. They don't need another Kofi Kingston, they have trouble dealing with what to do with one.

Common misconception by WWE viewers.

Yes he can do everything Kofi can do. But he's also a great brawler, technician, and knows his way around some grappling/submissions. I've never seen Kofi throw punches anywhere near the intensity that AJ Styles was throwing them with during some of his later TNA matches. Last Man Standing vs Bully Ray anyone?

Kofi Kingston also wasn't the first American to win the NJPW Heavyweight Championship since Brock Lesnar did it in 2005. AJ Styles was, and is...

I've seen plenty of AJ's work. Exceptional athlete and a very capable wrestler. As far as the rest of the package like charisma and mic skills, not so much. No real character.

I stand by my statement, he's a white Kofi Kingston.

Guys like AJ Styles are a dime a dozen on the indy scene anyway. If WWE wanted a guy like AJ, they'd go with someone younger to get as many years out of them as they can.

And please don't say AJ's name value gives him the edge.

Quit commenting BaconBits. You're saying all the shit that I was going to say. Fucker.

Anyway.
WWE isn't going to pay a large sum of money to a 37 year old AJ Styles. He's s a very good wrestler but they already have those.

He's already past his prime and there is nothing he can bring to the WWE that they can't find somewhere else. The casual fans would know very little about him if they know anything at all even.

He's best staying on the indies and honestly there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree that he's best off on the indies and in Japan. That's his biggest fanbase. That's ok.

It's not like there is anything wrong with working for the second biggest promotion in the world and the third (soon to be second) biggest promotion in America.

Great for him. I really never thought that anyone apart from the big two could (or would) pay him that much... especially after the series of necks he has broken (not much fault of his own, I know). Plus he is someone that doesn't compromise much, so that could always make things tougher, both for him and the guys that are trying to deal with him.

for those saying aj isnt good enough for wwe, wwe attempted to sign aj and styles turned it down. also youre talking about the same company that hired ryback khali and titus oneal.

Ryback rules.

Khali may not be technically great & is slow as molasses, but he wasnt hired to be the next Bret Hart. He was hired to be a giant & is a good link to fans as an ambassador for his home country. Damn, now I feel dirty because I had to defend Khali. Ugh.

What exactly is wrong with Titus O'Neal?

Like if your a wrestler, you can't be successful or make money outside the WWE. Stop watching the WWE Network 24/7 people, it is programming you to think irrationally.

Sure he can make money elsewhere. Thats great for him. Unfortunately that does not change the fact he would not do well in the WWE. After the buzz died down, he would be stuck in limbo. He sure as hell would not get a shot at the main belt & would likely end up as an enhancement talent after a shot at the mid card belt. Then all of you folks would whine & cry that he is being misused. He is good in the ring, but has fuck all in the charisma department. WWE already has a few of those.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Styles continued wrestling for a few years and then WWE hired him as a trainer for the Performance Center down the line. He's the type of dude you'd want training people, considering hes worked virtually every style.

I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with that. I'm sure he's making a good living and having fun. And he's playing to the largest part of his fanbase. If I was a wrestler, I'm pretty sure that's the way I'd want my career to go.

i used titus oneal because he is the same age as aj. if the wwe can give him a chance despite not having as much experience they can give aj a chance

Indeed. He also got out of TNA at the perfect time. He won't be associated with its possible death if it goes under but will be the poster child for when it flourished.

They gave Titus a chance cause they signed him in 09, he has an impressive look and surprisingly good charisma. Too bad he is horrid in ring.

Nope. Not at all.
I watch very little ROH but most of the guys on that roster that I've seen can put on really good matches.

AJ can thrive in a place like that.

He's more of a wrestler than an entertainer so it's a great fit for him.

Not to mention AJ Styles post-TNA is a bigger deal then AJ Styles when he was with TNA. The dude is apparently like a fucking rockstar whenever he goes to Japan. In TNA he was like the janitor, cleaning up everyones mess. He even said so himself!

Oh, good. I thought for a second there you were going to say something that makes no sense. :disappointed:

Exactly why does AJ need a 'chance' again? Especially when that chance will ultimately end up with him as mid-card enhancement talent? The E already has Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, etc. Talented flyers, solid mat skills, meh charisma. We dont really need any more of those.

Having seen his entire run in New Japan thus far (and only having seen little bits of TNA and ROH and not having been an AJ mark whatsoever going in) I can say that AJ Styles is a fucking star and WWE have really missed out.

The guy debuted as a heel, beating up the babyface champ and the crowd were flat because they didn't know who he was, taking a little time to warm up to his stuff. Today he had his 7th match in NJPW, against Hirooki Goto, and the pop nearly blew the roof off. He's still heel and the crowd love him. He insults them. They love him. He flips the ref off. They love him. I've started to really warm up at approximately the same speed.

Maybe they pop more for workrate, but if that's the case then why isn't Davey Richards a star over there? He did work for the same company after all. Plus, they're not just pairing him with 'workrate' guys. The reaction for his match with Toru Yano (think: Japanese Santino Marella) was incredible and the match was really entertaining too.

Don't care about his income but he definitely made the right choice in juggling NJPW and the indys. He looks much fitter than I've seen him and doesn't wrestle like you'd expect a 37 year old man to. Calm him down a notch and you have a WWE main eventer.

I expect he'll be the figurehead of GFW, but that's another story.

i woldve said titus sucks, but you defended khali, a guy who cant bend his waste or throw a punch, let alone wrestle a "great" "good" or even "decent" match

Khali is a king in India (that's a huge plus). Plus he is 7 feet tall. What do you expect a 7 footer to do?
