RIP Sgt. Michael Paranzino / RIP CM
Any fans of this wonderful, wonderful group on this board? I was contemplating starting a thread in the music section, but I'll see if we have any fans first or if I'll just be talking to myself.

I love you TM. I truly do. I'm admitting it right now to everyone, I'm madly in love with Tee Em the Third.

Listen to any other folk-punk or just Against Me? Ever heard of Defiance, Ohio or This Bike is a Pipe Bomb? Ghost Mice?

I need to become an admin, so I can just rep you a thousand times for knowing that label exists.

All right, it's official, folk-punk thread coming later on.

I've been a fan of Against Me for years, but I didn't really get into the folk punk scene until my anarcho friend introduced me to This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, and a few weeks later I went to a Defiance, Ohio show inside of some random person's basement, and it was probably the single greatest performance by any band I've ever seen. One of these days I'm going to catch TBIAPB live.

Don't worry, the indie hipsters don't like anything involving "punk" anymore, it's not fashionable. Now it's all about screaming and wearing cardigans.

Funny enough, my friends sister got me into them years ago. She was a cool kid.

But the folk music had a big rooting in Canada in Newfoundland, where the huge irish population in the province has created some decent bands, and some shit bands who have made a fair bit of money for being irish/folk (Great Big Sea)

Ever listen to Tiger Army? used to love them. Had a friend who loved This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, and we used to silkscreen shirts together. He made a TBIAPB one.

Tiger Army are pretty damn good, they're like a more folk based version of the Reverand Horton Heat. Psychobilly is always fun, I was able to see The Cramps in New York two years ago before Lux passed away.

I live in a dead spot of the music world. No one ever comes here really. Dylan and Young were here in a weeks period, a week period I wasn't here.

You'd better have been mining gold or something similarly lucrative, or else that was the worst week of your life.

I still haven't seen Dylan, even though he's come here several times. I need to see him before he dies. Or I do. He may or may not just be eternal.

I get a pretty good range of music in the New England area, especially for indie shit. Lupos in Providence, RI is a hell of a spot, I've seen many good shows there from Wu-Tang to Nashville Pussy.
