Believes in The Shield!
I'm not sure how many people here have heard of this game, but there's actually a new wrestling game out that isn't terrible and can give you a great alternative to the usual WWE games. Only available through Xbox 360's Indie Games, this game is actually a steal with all things considered.
The game is only about 3 bucks and is an old school style game that thrives mostly off of an aspect that WWE games seem to boast about but never deliver. Action Arcade Wrestling 2 gives you the ultimate customization by allowing people to upload and use modded wrestlers that you can create through the mod tools given via AAW 2's website.
In game create a wrestler mode is a bit tricky, but it's not entirely handicapped. For a 2D game made by only two people, the moves available is very in depth and balanced... even adding popular moves like the F5, Go To Sleep, Attitude Adjustment/FU, and even Canadian Destroyer just to name a few.
As far as gameplay goes, the game doesn't miss a beat either. Keep in mind, the game is 2D and reminds me a lot of the old Raw games from the Super Nintendo days. It plays rather smooth and crisp to be honest, and the AI is actually up to a decent standard so that I'm not bored. Another great feature is the cap of up to 10 characters in the ring at the same time, which is 4 more than WWE games allow; allowing you to play those Battle Royal and Survivor Tag Team matches you've wanted to for years.
Admittedly, the game does have a few bugs in it, but not much that'll harm the overall quality. The most notable bug is the fact that while previewing moves, the game has a tendency to quit and send you back to the dashboard without saving your progress. Even still, the game is really fun and really worth giving a try. It kind of makes you wonder if WWE and 2k will be paying attention.
