Aces & Eights: An Analysis

I agree there were far to many. but aces and eights could come out next week and say that only the guys who took out aries were aces and eights members and the rest were just hired guns brought in to distract the rest of the tna locker room while they took him out. still enjoying the story but i am kind of hoping that tna will reveal who the aces and eights are soon.

You're prolly going to have to wait until BFG for the big reveal. Wouldn't surprise me if they even did it on the Impact after.

What a lot of people aren't realizing is that usually these invasion angles have just a few guys taking out the whole promotion. This time, it's actually a whole gang against the promotion. I'm sure there's a set number as the main guys, and the rest are just hired guns. But hey, it's a nice twist.

Exactly what I was saying the last time I saw this many guys in a invasion was the wcw/ecw invasion and that was another good one too I like this even though u know TNA is gonna win at least there not dominating and it looks even

All the Aces and Eights men in the videos played on iMPACT! last night wore "PROSPECT" patches, which in the biker/gang world means they are essentially "trying out" for a club. IMO this is clear-cut proof that there is a higher agenda here and that the group will undoubtedly have a leader, because if not, what's the purpose of wearing that patch?

Tara will be revealed as the gang-leader or a major figure ala Sons of Anarchy, having masterminded the whole affair to take out Hogan & Brooke Hogan. She, along with Isaiah Cash and Cliff Compton will be the trio of leaders for the group. :p

Last Thursday night on Impact threw me for loop when it came to Aces and Eights. The most interesting thing is that they "broke" Austin Aries's arm. So I was wondering, "Who benefits the most from an injured AA." As it turns out it is the same person who conveniently was absent last Thursday in the battle against Ace's and Eight's...Bobby Roode.

It makes sense on why he would accuse James Storm to try and get people off his track. The list of the attacked include many of the main event who threaten him. Along with the authority figures who have been causing him problems. This will most likely be addressed next week, so all and all I am interested on how this plays out. As of right now Aces and Eights has me interested.

Did anyone notice the big guy in the 1st segment was totally samoa joe, look at his eyes and the way he was moving and pacing around. Plus after just a few punches he laid down and no one touched him probably because they didn't want the mask to fall off. Not saying he is part of the group, they probably just needed extra bodies because their was so many members.

I really can't put a thumb on this one. Although the idea of Brooke being the leader is real interesting since she's the only person they didn't actually attack when they hit the ring.

It will be Jarrett......only to do a pay off match with sting at BFG sending both of them into the HOF.....But the Hulk thing is stupid......i cant take Hulk Hogan growling and being a dumb ass........wait.......growling......is THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR BEHIND IT!!??!?!?!?!?!?!

Can we just all admit that it matters not a bit who the leader is? We all know that the only reason this is all happening is that Eric bischoff has been missing sons of anarchy since the last season ended and is looking for a fix to hold him over until the new season starts next month?

If they mysteriously drop the angle soon after the season premier of SOA, we all know why.

Starting to think Double J has nothing to do with this. So far we know that Wes Brisco is in the group. We also know Luke Gallows and Mike Knox have both played members of the Aces and Eights. And it would be stupied of TNA not to have them as members when they are finally revealed. this brings me to the guy who has been doing all the talking in the promos. He is a big guy and the only person i can see this being is Samoa joe. Joe is one of a very few people on the TNA roster who has had nothing to do with the current Aces and Eights Storyline and has never been Present when Aces and Eights have been around. If it turns out that joe is part of the Aces then it would also help tie up him being attacked a couple of years ago by masked men and forced into a van. For aces and eights to continue to have a impact after they are unmasked then they would have to a genuin title contender and joe would fit the bill. but as far as the leader goes i don't think it would be Joe. Remember if Joe is the one behind the mask then he is also wearing a prospect patch. that would mean joe is taking orders from somebody and in my opinion there are a couple of people that could be.

TAZZ
He and Joe have been very close since he arrived. Tazz could say that he was promised a lot when he joined tna, but so far he has seen nothing of what he was promised and he blames hogan and sting for this. Tna don't have a heel Comintator at the moment and if tazz turns out to be the man in charge then he can easily pull double dutie on the anounce table and as leader.

JAMES MITCHELL
Has been out of TNA for a number of years know and in my opinion he should not have been realesed in the first place. he is fantastic on the Mic and would have the right look to be the leader also. Plus he has history with sting and could be doing this because he wants revenge.

Actually the more I think about it the more I like the idea of Joe being the leader. The guy seems to have that fire back in him again and a heel Joe vs a face Aries program for the title could be fantastic.

There too many Aces & 8s out there last week, but that's easily explained as hired guns. In fact I think it would look pretty awesome for the 5 members (whenever unmasked) to be escorted to the ring by a large gang of bikers who never take off their helmets. Have the gang surround the ring while the main 5 take center stage. Perfect way of building heel heat of the faces not being able to get at them as the heels taunt them. Granted the gang would have to go after a few weeks, but at the start it could work.

As for who joins, well all Joe would have to say is that he went around the world to pick up the toughest guys he could find to shake up the entire company. Knox and Gallows fit the bill, they've got the look and can work. Masters is a possibility of course.

After that I'd try to fill the role with a young wrestler who can really go, someone who can eventually turn on the group, go face and feud with Joe. I'm thinking Prince Devitt but he'd be hard to get, but someone along those lines. A wrestler that can turn the crowd to him with his in-ring work before eventually making the turn with his character.

As long as it isn't Rikishi I'll be good.

A woman as the leader of Ace's and Eight's? Possibly, it's definitely a subtle twist as the leader of big heel stables is 99 times out of 100 a guy. If its any girl I'm hoping for Dixie Carter, not sure how they could incorporate her in there but maybe she's sick of old dogs like Sting and Hogan running her show and she wants it back, I could see something like that happening and I would be fine with it. As long as it makes sense and keeps me enthralled I'm happy with it. At least they've kept me into the storyline so far so I'll give them props for that, especially with how cynical I can be towards TNA.

My guess though is they will go with a guy, possibly Jeff Jarrett or someone like that. I hope not as its too predictable and Jarrett has been the leader of enough heel stables but that's who I'm leaning towards right now. I could also see Bully Ray being the leader with all his accusations towards Storm and whenever he does it he just "happens" to win a BFG series match so I'm sure he's involved somehow (assuming he isn't already, its been a few weeks since I saw Impact).

Whoever it is I'm looking forward to the big reveal and here's hoping its a solid payoff.

I'm still not expecting the leader to be revealed until Bound For Glory, which is in October.

I feel doughnut-dumb for not thinking of this before, but it has been repeatedly reported that TNA's 'hot' acquisition, Muhammed Lawal, will be making his debut .. in October.
Muhammed Lawal is of course better off known as King Mo.
King Mo.
(Aces and Eights)
.. KING Mo.

Is anyone else feeling doughnut-dumb right about now ?

@jay-mos, i can see what you mean with king mo though i would been major leauge anoyed at that, i hate MMA influenced wrestlers, never find them entertaining. but to support that the common consensus for reveal/ big fight is BFG, october, from an interview with the fight club chicago 'Mo said, "I'm going to pro wrestling school starting next month. I will be making my TNA debut this October."

So that ties that in i hope to hell its not him though couldnt stand it, though now im thinking makes more sense, the A&8s are brawlers not wrestlers (so similar to mma) the timing would work, and not to put too finer point on it, the dead mans hand known cards are all black, as is king mo. I doubt TNA wuld use race to make a storyline but its is all circumstancial evidence

It would be hilarious if that hidden card is a Joker. Sting has been ranting and raving the most about the A's and 8's. Wasn't he the one who told Hardy, RVD, and Aries to stay in the ring last week?

Also I think the group will be broken down with multiple leaders - The Aces, and the muscle - The Eights.

Sting being the joker (down) card has come up before. It may be the case. I also noticed that "h" is the eighth letter of the alphabet. Hulk Hogan? That could cover the eights. Just a thought. I hope it isn't correct, but I would not rule it out.

Honestly, I don't find the whole thing all that interesting. I like the idea of the angle, but I feel like the reveal is going to be a letdown. If it's anyone on the roster (including Matt Morgan) I don't think it really does anything. If certain that it'll be Jeff Jarrett unless they want to go the "surprise" route and then it'll be Dixie (which I think would be an awful idea).

Is it really that if it's Hogan or Sting or anyone else? Not to me.

I actually hope it is Karen and Jeff Jarrett pulling the strings. It's just a matter of time before at least Jeff returned to tv, and I don't expect anything jaw-dropping from TNA so this would be fine. For me, my concern is more with who the permanent members will be as I would like to see a few guys cemented in those spots. I like Gallows, decent big man who is pretty good on the mic, too. Wes Brisco seems to be a lock and there is another guy with long hair and I think it's Cliff Compton who is overdue to be on TV in a company. I don't think Masters is a good fit and could stand better on his own. Back to the leaders, Karen draws good heat and Jeff just makes sense. TNA tries too hard to go for shock factor that they usually out think themselves and leave fans with something lackluster compared to the build. I hope this works and some talent that we have all seen or haven't that can contribute to the product get a good rub from it all.

Now I did watch IMPACT last week, and watched the whole scene where "a camera guy" entered the ring and hit AUSTIN ARIES in the back. I guess I didn't pay enough attention.

Now this week they have this wrestler held up back stage and they showed the clip again from the last week. Now when i watched this clip it definately wasn't this guy they are holding this week. looks nothing like him, but to me it looked identically to MATT HARDY..
Did anyone else happen to notice this or see this as such. I don't think I'm going crazy either, and I'm not blind...lol That was MATT HARDY in that clip showing him trying to keep the cover over his face.

I tried to find just a clips of the replay they showed from last nights IMPACT but I couldn't find one.

What does everyone else think? Am I seeing things?

i could see them puttung Matt Hardy in the group. With Luke Gallows,Cliff Compton,Wes Briscoe, & Mike Knox all being ex-wwe wrestlers I could see that the WWE background has something to do with this group.

Even if it is Jeff Jarrett,Chris Harris,D'Lo Brown, or Bully Ray.They also all worked for
WWE. Maybe 1 of them bigger guys is Harry Smith.

But then again maybe not.LOL
