Dude. The Tacks. Oh The Tacks.
No one gets sick of Mick Foley's Barbed Wire Bat..
No one gets sick of the Dudley's tables.. Or bazooka, in one case..
No one gets sick of Ravens.. pizza cutters and shopping carts and kendo sticks..
And I doubt anyone is sick of the tacks.. I know i'm not.. and besides, its a throwback to the generation of young adults who were fed ECW by the barrel.
I personally will never get sick of the tacks. I watch Classic TNA on ESPN Clasisc every Wednesday, and it always shows good matches and pay-per-views. And the tacks fly. And I love it! You can't say that you don't, because it's human nature to love seeing someone get perminantly maimed.

It wasnt that i hate the tacks it just seemed like abyss was written to use them every impact and ppv for like 3 months, it just seemed like alot, if you look as say for example Foleys Barbed wire bat, you dont see it every PPV match he is in, you see it every now and then. It is a trademark of his character not a neccesity to his performance and it seemed (to me, i may be mistaken) that the tacks became part of every Abyss act not just his trademark weapon.

Abyss has been my favorite TNA wrestler since ive been a fan of TNA for 3 and such years. He is the epitomy of a "Monster" and plays the part well. He's definately not one who's afraid to take a bump, in fact he seems to take a lot more bumps than most of the guys on the roster, but thats just my opinion. I like the story line he's in with the controversy between Sting and Mitchell. I was contemplating the idea of him going solo and no longer havin Mitchell as a manager. Now with the storyline that may be happening, but do ya'll think he'd be better off alone?? or should he keep Mitchell who serves as a "voice" so to speak. I'm glad he was champion finally, after wantin it to happen for years, and i'm lookin forward to his next title run. I said it. HE's a big powerful "Monster" wrestler, yet he has agile abilities, AND he takes some of the nastiest bumps in TNA. What's not to like about the offspring of masked-Kane and Mankind??? Abyss is awesome and definately deserves the title, add me to the goddamn club.

Thanks, i agree with most of that, and don't you think that the sting 'bullying' may turn into an abyss face turn?

Just thought i'd add that the barbed wire ring match with sabu is much better than any of kanes matches as far as my opinion goes :)

I think I'm probably the only person here who's never been that impressed with Abyss. He is agile, and does have good speed and power, but the way he executes his moves bugs me. They way he moves rubs me the wrong way. I don't know what it is about him, but I think he's overrated and I simply don't like him. To say that he's a better big man than Undertaker is just unrealistic. Taker has more speed and agility than Abyss, and he's technically sound as well. While I could see him getting a huge push if he went to WWE, I just don't see him as being as good as everyone thinks he is.

Fair enough, I just see his ringwork getting better and better, and yes he is not quite there yet, but he is up near the dizzy heights of Taker.

I always liked Abyss since I first saw him on TV. At first I thought he was a Mankind, Taker and Kane want to be. I realized that he has his own character. And the current secret angle really got me interested in Abyss. More interested then I ever was. Hoyt and Abyss are the two best big man in TNA. Some say it's Hernandez and he does come close but Abyss makes matches more interesting. Abyss can hold his own in a match. He showed that at Genesis when he faced Sting and won the title.

The thing I hate is people seem to think is he is only good for one thing and that's gimmick matches. He can do either one. He has built his character nicely and proven time and time again he deserves the belt and he got his run. Now Cage gets his run. I see Abyss getting another run. I hope Sting puts him over.
