I'm better than you!
What do you think about him?

I personally like his persona and mic skills but I hate the show he does. I can't stand it, I find it boring and really irritating.

I would love to see him actually start wrestling because he has obvious charisma and could get over I think but right now, I don't enjoy what he's doing.

So, what do you think about him? Is he working for you?

The only reason I ever peek in from the kitchen (where I usually go to make a snack when Abraham Washington comes on) is in the mad and desperate hope that someone, anyone, from the ECW locker room will charge in and beat him senseless with his talkshow set. Abraham has not shown himself to be of any good or use whatever on the show. Either get him in ring gear and fighting or get him out of there.

I'm afraid I'm even less merciful than you, Mario101, with this walking mouth. I don't like his persona and I think his mic skills are...well, they're passing, but nothing truly special. If he's going to step into the ring, he needs to be able to hold his own in the activities that usually go on there. Too bad the Boogeyman is no longer on ECW. He'd be perfect to cause Washington some grief, but there has to be a few others. Why doesn't someone like Kozlov march in and headbutt him into next week just to shut him up? Come on, we can't be the only ones getting more and more irritated by this useless twerp.

Abraham Washington is in fact a worker. If you look him up on You Tube, you can find some of his matches from FCW, where he was doing a Presidential gimmick, complete with Secret Service. It seems like nobody can get in WWE these days without being a worker.

As far as his personality working for me, I am definitely warm to the idea of doing a talk show segment to further angles. He could be better, but he is okay. I am not necessarily displeased with him at this point, however there is some room for improvement.

He's decent. He's not amazing, but he's not godawful either. I was live at the ECW on July 21st where he had Christian and Dreamer and his cheesy little jokes towards Dreamer were getting some decent laughs from the crowd and myself. I do wanna see him wrestle though, maybe someone be offended by something he says and challenge him to a match, then him refuse, then have Tiffany force him into it. Totally calling this.

I agree with most of what you've said here KK but I think he has potential as an arogant heel that runs his mouth. He could be decent if he were put in the ring. But other than that I completely agree with you. The show is horendous and I really hope they get rid of it soon. For the C show and only having an hour time could be spent much better than putting this dick on for 10-15mins every show.

Abraham Washington is definitely working for me. Personally I find him the best thing on ECW right now. Washington was just made for a on screen. Doesn't really matter what it is, but he was made for a on screen role where he interacts with wrestlers. The day the man debuted on ECW he was already getting heat, for no apparent reason. That's the making of a mega heel if you ask me. His mic work is great in my opinion, and only improving week after week. It seems like he's getting more used to his character and fitting into his talk show role better. He's much more loose and natural on the mic now then when he started, and I only see it improving.

The show I think is fantastic. Unlike the usual backstage interview where a wrestler is asked a question and responds accordingly, on the Washington show the wrestler is asked a question, but also has to be prepared to go back and forth with Washington if he interrupts. I find it a much better way to build character then just the usual ask a question and answer. With Washington challenging their thoughts, and making jokes at their expense, the wrestler has to think quick on how to respond, and come off witty and in the right manner. Hell, a few weeks ago I don't think I have ever seen so much character from Shelton in my life then when he was on the Washington show, and that's because Washington brought out that character by doing his thing in making him go into a back and forth with him, and with help with from Ryder obviously.

So yes, Abraham Washington is working in my opinion.

Meh...He works, but its not something I necessarily need to see on ECW. There are only a few interesting people that he can interview anyway, so it's not like you are going to hear great mic work out of the Abraham Washington show. I take it for what it's worth. Hey at least ECW has something to call its own right now.

I'm interested to see how the show would develop once he eventually steps in the ring.

Washington also works for me. He's not brilliant but he isn't bad either.
Like CTC MEM said...ECW is develpmental territory nowadays. So seeing newcomers with average skills only means they can evolve to something decent/good or better.

The fact that he isn't wrestling also is intriguing and will have one of two outcomes:

1- him being the cowardish/opportunist heel type (shown after being challenged by someone like Christian or Goldust)
2- him being a proper wrestler and beat whoever has the dumb thought of challenging him (probably someone like Ryder)

I think he should keep the Talk Show gimmick for another month or so, maybe even give it a segment at a smaller PPV and then see lets see him in the ring.

:)

To be honest, I find Abraham Washington and his show to be quite entertaining. When I watch ECW on youtube, that is usually my favorite part of the show, besides watching Christian. Like you've all said, he is very charismatic and I find his horrible jokes to be very hilarious. What I fail to see is whether or not Abraham Washington is actually a wrestler or not. Is he trained or no? That's what I want to know.

I really like Abe. Sure, he may look rather strange and his jokes may be stupid and corny, but he's entertaining and makes me laugh. When he first debuted, I thought he was awful, but his show gets better each and every week. It also really helps in furthering storylines without having to put the two wrestlers in a match together.

Abe definetly gets a great reaction from the crowd, so he's definetly working. As for him wrestling at some point, I'm not sure as I've never seen any of his matches. However, considering he is up on the main roster I assume he decent. He probably won't be in the ring for awhile though, there is no need for it.

I already answered that question above. The thread was only 8 posts long when you posted, so clearly you aren't reading the posts. It's different if there were pages and pages to go through and you missed it, but 8 posts??

Yes, he is a worker. And if you watch ECW on YouTube, you mine as well look up "Abraham Washington FCW" on there and you can see him in the ring.

Honestly I'll get a laugh out of old Abe when he made fun of goldust being electricuted. I think he is working because there is anticipation for his in ring debut. I missed ECW last week, so I hope he didn't debut and I look dumb now. It reminds me of MVP when he first joined smackdown, he was pushed like a superstar and WWE Champ in the making, now we just need to see if he can back up his mouth or not.

I really can't stand watching him doing his thing, i really find it quite painful. He has no gimmick thats the problem, if he was doing the whole FCW presidential thing then it could work but its just annoying. Why don't they at least make him annoying on purpose rather than just happening to be annoying?

I like his mic skills, but his show sucks to be honest with you and I almost want to say it hurts those who show up on his program. I think it hurts feuds more than helps. Hopefully the guy can wrestle or he won't be here much longer, at least I hope!

It would be interesting if he started in-ring competition, but having his own talk show is a waste of time. ECW is only on the air 1 hour per week, and The Abraham Washington Show takes up the amount of time equal to a match. I wouldn't drop Washington, but I would drop his talk show, because it is too long, and boring.

Let's be honest here. A large majority of WWE fans are complete idiots. The only way the WWE fans will accept any superstar is if they do fancy moves off the top rope or are named Triple H. People like Elijah Burke, Stevie Richards, Charlie Haas, Spike Dudley, Mark Henry and Abraham Washington will always get short changed because the WWE fans can only be entertained by stupid flashy gimmicks, unfunny backstage/ring segments and high risk moves.

After seeing the cut segment on WWE.com, I can safely say that Abraham Washington is working for me.
Actually, he's always been working for me, but the cut segment took the cake. Everything from the technical diffuiculties, to Tony Atlas' laugh, to beating up the sound guy was pure genius. I absolutely love the show, and Washington himself.

Abraham Washington isn't working, and it is getting to the make or break point. The crowd don't really care for his segments, and his jokes are lame. The addition of Tony Atlas is bizarre to say the least and makes the whole thing a massive clusterfuck. The problemisis that he isn't very natural on the mic, so he essentially just shouting his lines. The jokes are repetetive and unfunny, and I sincerely wouldn't be suprised if the Abraham Washington show becomes a WWE.com segment in the near future.

Klown_Karnage said almost verbatim what I think, especially "senseless".

Show concept is fine, delivery sucks. Would be better if he fought every guest, and sometimes won.

The guy has some mic skills for sure but damn the guy has to wrestle and show the crowd what he can do in that area as well. The guy just can't be a mouthpiece forever.

Yes he's working all right. This guy went from hosting a stupid segment to hosting an excellent segment. I think it was a brilliant move to put Tony Atlas in his segment, because it certainly brings some fresh and funny things to the table. Abe made an impact on me this past month, I think this guy has the IT factor ECW needs. Unfortunately hist time is limited to just hosting a talk show. I would love to see this guy wrestle.

I can't stand his segment. when it first came on i liked it but its the opening segment week after week.
He's got skills on the mic I'll give him that. But its a wrestling show not a talk show starring Abraham "lame jokes" Washington.

So hopefully he gets in the ring and wrestles someone and gets over.

He kinda reminds of that kid in Everybody hates Chris that grew up... He's all right but he's on the wrong show. He should be at RAW so that we would have more Wrestling time in ECW. Besides RAW Fits him, since RAW focuses more on Promos and Entertainment more that Actual wrestling.

I know i'll probably get negative replies for this, but for some reason he reminds of when the Rock was a heel, and I'm not saying he's going to be anywhere near what the Rock became, but when he starts wrestling in the ring, if he is decent, he should get a main event spot one day on either smackdown! or raw.
