Blues Traveler vs Seether

I fucking despise Seether. They are the perfect example of everything that is wrong with rock and roll today. I'm not sure whether to label them as "post-post-grunge" or just "shit". "Remedy" was all over the radio, and people loved that song. Why? It's at best a mediocre attempt at a Nirvana sound. At best. Every time they release a song onto the radio, I remember why I stopped listening to the radio in the first place.

Blues Traveler are a band very much like Phish & the Black Crowes to me. I'm not at all interested in their music, but I understand why people are and respect their ability to make said music. Blues Traveler did have a good song or two though, and John Popper (I believe that's his name?) can play the harmonica like nobody's business.

Blues Traveler got my vote. Seriously, Abortion > Seether. Rape > Seether. Necrophilia > Seether. See where I'm going with this?

Xfear, you just don't like ANYTHING do you?

I like Seether, but I can actually understand where you are coming from. Blues Traveler is a very talented group of musicians, very strong harmonies and various instruments. John Popper was a fair frontman.

Seether hasn't put enough time in for me yet, though I've enjoyed their albums overall. Remedy was overplayed, but their new song "Fake It" I can't get enough of yet.

You guys are in for a shock once we get to the 50s-80s brackets. I'm going to go from "Ugh this band is utter shit" to "Damnit I can't decide between these two AMAZING bands!" rather quickly.

Oh and a bit off topic, but did you add those bands I PMed you about to the 50s/60s bracket yet IC25? They deserve to be in there.

I can see it coming, X. You seem to be VERY anti-modern rock, and it frightens me to think we could be agreeing almost every step of the way for the next month while the 50's-80's regions occur. Yes, I will add the bands you suggested for the 50's and 60's you picked some great ones. Sorry I didn't PM you back, but it'll be nice to see you enjoying music for a change.
