I have to say, I'm not a big slipknot fan so that's going to influence my vote. They do nothing for me, and while for the most part i find Blink 182 intolerable, in my eyes they are the better band, simply because I can (sometimes) listen to them

Eurgh, Slipknot. *Waits to get shot by certain people* But no way can they make it through. This is probably a biased vote, but I'm with Polly. I cannot listen to this band. They make me want to be deaf. And it just strikes me that their music isn't incredibly well thought out in terms of anything really.

Blink 182 I can't say I'm a big fan, but I can listen to their music. I saw them live once and they are a good band live at least. They also have a few good songs, which is a few good songs more than Slipknot.

the only problem with slipknot is they only play to the one crowd. they only have a couple of songs that stand out,(like wait and bleed) all the rest sound the same to me. Blink 182 on the other hand have more then enough songs that have become HUGE. also Blink 182's lyrics actually have a meaning to them.

I used to like Blink 182, before they sold out to appear on MTV.

They were touring the UK for the first time in years, but then pulled out due to "fatigue", yet appearedthe next night on an MTV awards show....

Wankers.

Plus, I love Slipknot, Coreys voice is amazing, especially his Stone Sour stuff

Ok I can't beleive I'm going to defend Blink 182 but I find this post to be completely ridiculous

First off, they never sold out, they became successful, I am really getting annoyed with everyone throwing out the old "they sold out" just because a band has acheived success, RVDgurl said it best in another thread when she said "since when did becoming successful become a bad thing"

and now second off, your complaining about them canceling a UK tour due to fatigue and bitching about how they played the MTV awards, well allow me to inform you that there is a big difference in playing a regular full set, and playing one song on an awards show

and now onto Slipknot, I think it would be a good idea that if the people who are voting for Slipknot and citing Cory Taylor as their reason should forget about his work with Stone Sour or any other band, and just take his work with Slipknot in consideration, Stone Sour is not in this tournament and are a completely different band all together

I was not ranting about how the became successful, I was ra\nting about the fact they let people down to appear on an Awards show.

A hell of a lot of people were ranting about it over here when it happened, maybe its percieved differently on the other side of the Atlantic. We saw it as if your fatigued, why the fuck just not go sit on a beach somewhere, not appear on mainstream tv to get an award and play a song.

And frankly, I love Slipknot and Stone Sour. Joey Jordison is probably one of the best drummers the rock world as ever seen, not to mention the whole thrash metal sound. I enjoy listening to Slipknot, no matter what mood im in. They just sound fantastic.

Plus, without Slipknot, there would be no Murderdolls, who are probabaly my favourite band. Plus, Stone Sour wouldnt be around, and this is a tournament about how your chosen band/artist has affected the music scene.
