Ok, this is where music and wrestling collide for me. Gotta vote Europe for the simple fact that Bryan Danielson uses the Final Countdown as entrance music. It completely kicks ass. And the song is my ringtone (yes, I am a dork).

gotta give this to erasure. 25 consecutive Top 20s, co-founder of Depeche Mode. add to that the fact that they wrote potentially the most catchy song ever in 'A Little Respect' - watch that episodes of scrubs if you don't know what i mean, and you have a solid band. Europe - decent band and no disrespect to them, but a tough round

My brother, the moment that episode of Scrubs ended, I downloaded the sumbitch. I drive on Route 17 and The Garden Sate Parkway with it BLASTING, and me signing along at the top of my lungs. Like Turk says, the song "is like a disease." But a good one!

Europe is too whiney, TOO processed for me. I like clean sounding music, but they were overkill. Final Countdown was voted one of the most awesomely bad songs by VH1 (or Rolling Stone?) and beyond that it's whiney, obnoxious power ballads like "Carrie" or generic lyrical miscarriages like "I'm Not Superstitious."

Erasure takes this one, HANDS DOWN!

SO BABY PLEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEEE...

GIVE A LITTLE GREEN REP...TOOOOOO...MEEEEEEEEE!

(couldn't resist.)

and now i have to watch scrubs so the song has a reason to be in my head. between stabbing me in the back and putting erasure in my head...im not impressed

Erasure. Hands down. Easily.

I enjoy some cheesy 80s hair metal/power ballads, but even Europe was far too much for my tastes. "The Final Countdown" is catchy and a classic cheesy 80s track, but aside from that I couldn't listen to an album of theirs if you paid me.

Erasure on the other hand are gods of synth-pop and while not nearly as popular as the first band that Vince Clarke started (Depeche Mode), they come very close. These guys could do no wrong on the UK charts in the 80s. The Innocents is a total classic of synth-pop, and while a bit late on the scene to be considered a New Romantic group, they exemplified exactly what the entire movement was about. Like those above me have said "A Little Respect" is the perfect example of this.

So Erasure takes this easily for me, and I'm quite shocked that they are currently beating Europe. Only because wrestling fans usually love terrible quasi-metal.
