Pink Floyd. KISS is perhaps the single most overrated band ever. They aren't good musicians, at all. If they didn't have the makeup gimmick, they never would have been successful, and we wouldn't be talking about them at all. If you need to wear makeup to play rock and roll, you aren't that good.

i went with KISS. while i agree pink floyd may be better musicians, you said whole body of work. KISS is the most recognizable band ever and have created the biggest marketing empire. they had their own movie, dolls, halloween costume, lunch box.... they even sold KISS condoms! if thats not a body of work, i dont know what is
