25th Annual SummerSlam LD

Someone made a thread about how to improve pro wrestling. Sly brought up idiotic fans hurting the sport. LA has proves Sly so right tonight. They boo lesnar and then after triple h loses they chant "you tapped out"

Dead all night.

Awful

Show was alright, but kinda dull to be honest. No match really picked it up for me and I was most entertained by Del Rio vs. Sheamus actually which is bizarre because the feud is bloody duller than wall filler.

There really was no OMG match but each match delivered a solid performance

Which would be fine on a normal ppv but I expected HHH/lesnar to be more brutal than it was and I expected atleast one special moment. I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

Gut feeling tells me you're wrong about the first part.

And Trips DID tap out. I don't see the problem.

I think that is the problem. SummerSlam is one of the big 4 and arguably #2 behind Mania, it should have had those OMG moments. The show was solid, but underwhelming

We agree on a good deal of things (probably 70% of the time, or so), but I think we are in 100% agreement when it comes to Lesnar/HHH.

HHH lost - for that, I have to give him some credit, seeing he hates to do that. However, could he have looked any stronger in defeat? He and Big Show - both constantly need to look so strong that I can barely buy into them actually losing. This was no different. That match would make most think Lesnar got lucky and HHH was the tougher guy. I'm sorry, but that's fucking ridiculous. Still a good match, but once again, HHH's ego gets in the way.

This is where they lost it for me too. Lesnar came off looking like a wrestler who knew ONE submission hold rather than a monster, which is what he's been built up as. Look back to the match wtih Cena. The only wrestling move I remember him using there was an F5. Here, it was about 9 armbars or kimuras or whatever the name is and hammerlock slams. Lesnar looked decent here but he could barely beat a guy that wrestles twice a year. That doesn't scream someone I'd hand my money over as fast as possible to see.
