2009 Movies

As today is the first day of the year, that means we have 52 weekends of new movies coming out. There are tons of reboots coming, such as a new Friday the 13th and Star Trek, continuations of franchises such as Harry Potter 6 and Saw 6, and of course the greatest movie of all time, Hannah Montana the movie. I was wondering out of them all, which movie do you want to see most in the upcoming year?

For me it'll be something that most people aren't going to go with, but I want to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. This is one of my all time favorite children's books and something that I still have somewhere in my closet I believe. It's the story of a place where the weather is all food. Rain is beverages, and there might be something like a downpour of ham sandwiches. It's something I grew up loving and seeing it as a Disney film could be a great throwback to my childhood.

So what movie(s) this year do you want to see, and no, the rerelease of TDK doesn't count.

Terminator: Salvation. The fourth of the Terminator movies. I love the Terminator movies, and am very interested in seeing Christian Bale's role of John Connors. I am a little sad that there will be no Arnold Schwarzenegger in the fourth edition, but I understand the position he is in. As a fan of post-apocalyptic movies, I am very interested in seeing how they show the world after Nuclear Winter. Here is to hoping it will be a quality blockbuster.

I don't no much movies coming out. but Hannah Montana has to be the best one there . na there is this movie with will smith and he has to help people or something. and then he has to save or kill these 7 people ( forgot what he does) to save the world i think or something with 7 people does something. i am really looking forward for it because i love will smith , him in the pursuit of happiness and i am legend were classics. both my favourite movies of all time. and he was ok in handcock. i liked it. so what ever movie he is in i am looking forward to it

If you are referring to Seven Pounds, it has already been released, at least it has been released here. It is also a plot where he has the chance to help Seven people by giving his own life. I am not sure what else Will Smith has left in his tank for 2009, but knowing Smith, it will be a $200M movie. Will Smith has the ability to make anyone want to watch his movies, and he is probably the most bankable actor in Hollywood.

yeah seven pounds. it hasn't been released in asutralia yet so i am looking forward to that. mmm i still think will smith has a year or two at the top then he "retires" and only has those breif apperances. I have to agree will smith is a good actor. much loved.

Harry Potter 6 as well as The Friday the 13th remake are highest on my list. Bothlook extremely promising.

Star Trek looks terrible, I'm sorry. The movie just seems like a major bust to me.

Terminator:Salvation has great written all over it. Christian Bale is extremely talented.

I really want to say Terminator: Salvation, but the kid in me is dying to Up!. It's the next Disney-Pixar collaboration, and from jsut one trailer, I'm hooked. It's about an old guy, that makes his house fly, by conencting it to a ton of ballloons, and after he's airborne, he notices the annoying local kid clinging to his porch for dear life. It looks fun, and it looks entertaining.

I also want to see 2012. I'm not a theorist or anything, but it seems like a pretty good telling of the story of the Mayan calendar, and their prediction of the dawning of a new way of thinking, as of December 23, 2012. The teaser trailer is suspenseful, and is fairly relevant, considering the state of the world, and the fact that the date is certainly coming soon. i'm not saying I agree with the idea, but it looks to be an amazing movie.

Where the Wild Things Are. Classic childrens story being adapted by people who love and respect the source material and refuse to let Hollywood fuck it up. Directed by Spike Jonze, director of Adaptaion and Being John Malchovich. Only a few stills have been released so far, but it looks real fucking good.

To be honest i had no idea what movies was coming out this year. but after reading this guys post I am happier then Michael Jackson in an orphanage. this book growing up was THE book. i never ever EVER let my mum even think about reading me another book. it every night for two years was read at least twice a day. I am older now but I have younger siblings to make it look less embarrising. (lol) I know i will be at this movies release when it comes out in Tasmania.

I always see the Harry Potter movies. So that one's high up on my list. But the one I want to see most is Terminator: Salvation. The Terminator series is one of my favourite series ever, and after seeing the third movie, I immediately thought "There's going to be another sequel." And I was right. Like TM, I am a bit sad there'll be next to nothing of Arnie in the movie, but we'll have to live with it. I really wasnt to see how they end the series, and hopefully they don't screw up the series with this movie.

There's going to be a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movie? Awesome! I loved that book as well.

I will probably check out 2012 as that entire situation does interest me.

Friday the 13th might be somewhat decent, but I hate most remakes.

Gran Torino is the first 2009 movie I've seen so far and I love that, despite the complaints of poor acting by the supporting cast, it didn't bother me.

Watchmen - I'll be seeing this on opening weekend. This movie will either be really good or really bad. Hopefully it is the former, as this is probably the only graphic novel that I even slightly enjoyed.

I Love You, Man - I just saw a preview of this film. Another comedy from Team Apatow. Paul Rudd is the man, and Rashida Jones, one of the most beautiful women I have ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on, stars in this film as well.

Martyrs - French horror film that was released in Europe in 2008 but that will be getting a DVD release here in the U.S. sometime in mid-2009. France is where it's at right now with respect to horror films. This movie has been hyped as being more gory and disturbing than Inside, so I can't wait!

Friday the 13th - While a reboot of this franchise wouldn't normally interest me, this one is being directed by the same guy who remade The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And, besides The Hills Have Eyes 2006, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2004 is the best horror remake that I have ever seen.

Halloween 2 - Rob Zombie is the shit and is the best American horror director of his generation. Yes, I even think that he is better than Eli Roth.

WATCHMEN!! - can't wait for that, thats HOPEFULLY going to be a great movie.

Confessions of an Action Star - i don't know if anyone has heard of Confession of an Action Star??
Check out the trailer on youtube it looks funny. so ill be going to see that whenever it comes out.
