Getting Noticed By Management
Finally, no more reruns or crappy reality shows (okay, there will be less of them)! The Fall TV Season is here, and it's starting off with something I've been waiting over a year for, the final season of The Shield. Here's what I'm looking forward to over the next month, in no real particular order:
1.) The Shield. - Every season, this show has gotten better and better. This is the show that truly put FX on the map as far as having top-notch programming goes. I think it's one of the best police shows out there period (a lot better than any of the Law and Orders), and Vic Mackey may be one of my favorite characters of all time. He's corrupt, but also very effective. Last season, his job was on the line despite solving a major case and saving his department, and at the very end, he acquired a whole lot of leverage that has to help him out in not only getting his job back, but also bailing him out of certain situations that may arise. One has to wonder what the repercussions of that will be for him as the final season winds down.
2.) Dexter - This is without a doubt one of my favorite shows, possibly ever, and it's only starting up the third season. In case you had no idea what the show is about, Michael C. Hall plays a forensic scientist named Dexter Morgan who moonlights as a serial killer. His victims are those who are other killers who have escaped the traditional legal system, or were never suspected in the first place. Last season saw him face intense scrutiny, and he barely got out of getting caught. His main antagonist is now out of the picture, and if the season 3 trailer is any indication, he's not out of the woods just yet.
3.) Entourage - One of the funniest shows on television, Entourage follows the life of actor Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), his three closest friends, and his snake of an agent, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). After the first season was more of an establishing point where everything is on easy street, the following seasons have been filled with conflict. His last movie, Medillin, which was part of the storyline for the last three seasons, wound up being a bust thanks to his pretentious hand-picked douche of a director, Billy Walsh. There is an enormous amount of conflict for him going into this season, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.
4.) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Another show on FX that is top quality, only this time it's in the comedic area. The show was pitched to FX as "Seinfeld on crack" and that's about as accurate as it gets. The show follows the lives of five people who own a bar and the hilarious situations that they wind up getting in. Danny Devito joined the cast back in season two, and the show has really taken off with him.
5.) The Office - There's really nothing left to say other than the fact that it's all-around one of the best shows on television.
What are you looking forward to?
