Moments of importance that were left out were
Vince Sr. seperating his company form the NWA and starting the WWWF, which is obviously one of the biggest events ever
Verne Gange seperating the AWA out from the NWA, this is huge because look at the talent that came through the AWA the Freebirds, The Road Warriors, The Rockers, Harley Race, Ric Flair and doezens of others including a guy named Hogan who had his first face run there.
Fritz Von Erich RUnning the WCCW seperatley as well was huge becaus at one time they had a bigger TV pressence around the world then anyone.
The deaths of the Von Erich brothers which were mostly steroid and drugs related giving America its first true wrestling tragedy
Then of course there was Brunos Long title reigns
Superstar Billy Ghrame setting the mold for Big Poppa Pump Jesse Ventura and the aforementioned Hogan
Least I forget the 1940's debute of teh first modern Heel in Gorgeous George, and no not the macho mans girlfriend, but the man who set the standard for Buddy rogers, Freddie Blassie, Johnny Valintine, Greg Valentine and Ric Flair, and through those guys HBK, HHH and hundreds of more wrestlers.
The Faboulas Molah becomming the first recognized womens Champion of the world
If we ignore these history making events we ignore the rich traditon that the world of sports entertainment is based on.

I agree. The top 10 list is fucking atrocious.

1. Hulk Hogan turns heel and forms the NWO
2. Hulk Hogan bodyslams Andre the Giant at WM III

Both of these obviously are 1 and 2, although Austin 3:16 could go before the bodyslam. It was a big thing back in it's day but now I see it as nothing special. Just meh.

nWo is obviously #1.

3. Y2J debuts for the WWF

This made me piss myself with laughter, his jump wasn't even that big of a deal and whenever he did something meaningful, he usually ended up flopping. Not to mention Rock buried him in his first 15 minutes on RAW.

4. Austin 3:16

Should be higher.

5. Mankind vs. The Undertaker, Hell in a Cell

A fucking atrocity. You fucking kidding me? This high on the list? Lawlz. Should be lower, the match so so god awful it's unbelievable.

6. The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan at WM XVIII

Meh, top 10 worthy.
7. Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart, Iron Man Match

Snoozer, should be lower.

8. Mankind defeats The Rock for the WWF title

OMFG, Why? Isn't there something more meaningful than this crap. Sting returns to defeat Hogan was robbed with garbage like this in the top 10. Why people liked Mick Foley is beyond me. How long was that reign anyway? 4 weeks?

9. Chris Benoit wins the WWE World Heavyweight Title

Top 5 material. Higher than Foley's.

10. Stone Cold stuns Vince

He stunned Vince a bazillion times, something else could have went here.

13. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold, I Quit match
15. Scott Hall / Kevin Nash show up in WCW
16. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage at WM III
17. Sting returns and beats Hulk Hogan at Starrcade '97
19. Goldberg defeats Hulk Hogan for the WCW title
20. The Rock vs. Stone Cold, WrestleMania series

All of these are more worthy than Y2J's snoozer of a debut although I guess it could make the top 10, or Foley's title win. Goldberg over Hogan is easily better. Steamboat/Savage or Austin/Rock series could easily replace the hell in the cell.

All in all, crap list.

It is a pretty crappy list, but I have to say that Foley winning the title probably should be in the top 10 for one reason. Isn't that when WWE really started to regain the advantage in the ratings war with WCW? Bishcoff announced on his show that Foley would win the title at the end of Raw, everyone switched over to watch it and the rest was histroy. I think that was a big moment in the Monday Night Wars, which is why it probably deserves to be in the top 10.

Not really. People might have switched over and the ratings went up but once Rock regained the belt and feuded with Austin they exploded. Foley drew, but it was more of Austin and Rock than anything.

Yea, and where is NorCal joins ROH? Thats at least a top 25 moment right there.

It would be hard to make a top 100 list of the best moments, but AT LEAST the top 10 should be solid, this list is just crap.

Under what criteria was this list conceived? That you could only make a list while blowing a .15 on a breathalyser?

Like Wes said, this list is atrocious.

Nah, they all took some sort of a poll or something.

Like Sly said, they must have just got done partying hard.

Yea thats what makes it even better it was done out of a fuckin online poll.

Wm 17 the smark show of all ages.

OVER-RA-TED *clap clap clap clap clap* OVER-RA-TED *clap clap clap clap clap*

Austin/Rock was fantastic.

Everything else, meh. And I don't think it was an online poll, I think the columnists made it on their own, and took other replies. Fuck Idk.

Don't be fooled by the heel turn. That was just fucking stupid, the match, the build up, atmospere wasn't.

24 was pretty good. I like 22 too. 23 was fucking atrocious. 21 had Angle/HBK. 20 was... OK. Awesome main event. 19 was awesome. 18... completely forgotten anything other than Hogan/Rock. 17, erm, great if you were there I guess.

still dont like a WM main event that is based primarily on brawling, and has an absurdly confusing, weak, stupid ending. This is the fucking main event of WM. the match they had at 19 wouldve been much better as a WM main event, Just reverse the finishes. WM 19 ends how WM 17 did, cept with the rock using the chair shots, and Austin using multiple stunners on Rock at WM 17.

I think you and I are the only people who really liked 22. I thought it owned. but im a mark for crowd heat. And that crowd was absurd. I enjoyed 21 as well. It was well booked.

The main events for 21 sucked IMO. Batista winning? No thanks. And Cena has had much, much better matches than that shitfest with JBL. Edge/Taker is getting better each time I watch it.

In retrospect it was bad, but at the time Cena and Batista going over was the most logical, and thats what I meant by it was booked well. And the Orton-Taker match was sick. And the Hogan appearance was fucking SWEET lol.

And Taker-Edge was awesome. But your right, it does get better with age, and repeated solicitations. Like fine wine.

The poorly veiled racism made me want to vomit. The most disgusting moment in WrestleMania history.
Yes, because the last thing we'd want to do is make Americans feel better about themselves.

Hogan's appearance at WM21 was the best thing on the card. And I love the MITB match.
