Yokozuna was a flash in the pan, and he's certainly had his flash in this years WrestleZone Tournament's pan; but the fact of the matter is it stops here.

Misawa ate wrestling, breathed wrestling, Misawa lived wrestling, Misawa died wrestling. He was a mainstay in Japan for 25+ years.

Yoko may be fat, and we love our fat men here at WrestleZone, he simply doesn't compare to the greatness of Misawa. Do the right thing WrestleZone, end the fat man's march over WrestleZone here..

Mostly just pissed he went over Hogan.

I'm interested to see how IC might spin this match in Yokozuna's favor, but he can't. At least not logically. Yes, Yoko beat Bret Hart but it was due to interference. Hart had the Sharpshooter locked in so we know Yoko was susceptible to submissions. Yoko would be far more likely to make a mistake than Mizawa would. If anything Mizawa could just use his speed to duck and dodge and gas Yoko out, or roll out of the way when Yoko tries a high risk move.

The fact of the matter here is that Misawa was a bigger star than Yokozuna. Hell, he was a bigger star than Bret Hart. And Yoko doesn't have the kayfabe advantage. It's ludicrous not to think that Mitsuharu Misawa with all of his classic matches, all of his time spent on top of the wrestling world, and that he literally died for this industry wouldn't be booked to go over a stereotypical big man in a match that most big men would lose.

Vote Misawa.

Mitsuharu Misawa is an actual Japanese man unlike Yokozuna who's Hawaiian. How he was able to sneak into the third round over the likes of Hogan simply because the match was in Japan is beyond stupid. Misawa is so much better across the board than Yoko, this contest shouldn't even be a close one.

It's Misawa.

Yoko had a very good career, and his run here is one that will be talked about for years. Having said that, Misawa is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and I think he may have actually had title reigns longer than Yoko's entire prime.

Misawa to win in a great 20 minute match in which he finally chops that tree down.

The entire point in bad guys is that they lose. Yokozuna's career is pretty much entirely as a bad guy, with the exception of a brief period where his ass was being handed to him by Vader. Further to this point, Yoko's most notable loss in his career? To Bret Hart at WrestleMania X, MSG in 1994. Now Bret didn't get the 'W' via submission, he got it via a roll-up, but given that there's no time-limit, and Yoko lost that particular match because he made a mistake due to being worn out, I'd say that Misawa would likely just continue in the same vein and run rings around the fat man until he could wear him down enough for Yoko to just plain give up.

I wish I could be bothered to go back and quote all of the nonsense in the Hogan thread back to people here. It is literally the smarkiest IWC result to have the same guy beat Hulk Hogan and lose to Misawa. If Yokozuna was good enough to beat Hulk Hogan, then he is good enough to beat a wrestler who had less success in America than Tyson Tomko in MSG.

He sits on you till you tap out. Banzai Splat!

Misawa is a man i know very little about and Ech is gonna rip my ass for voting so blantantly with nepotism but I loved Yoko. Fuck that boy could move quick, that belly to belly, get great hang on what was the best legdrop in the business jesus fuck!

Yoko in his prime beat the biggest wrestling star (albeit) fading in Hulk Hogan who has lost to but a few big ones.

One is a huge legend in his native Japan. Thee other is Misawa. It's for that reason I'm voting for Yokozuna.

You know what? Fuck it.

Since it would appear the argument we're going with in Flair/Warrior is that Warrior never submit, and thus wouldn't, I'm down for that argument.

You know who else has never given up in a match? Yokozuna. And it isn't like he hasn't faced submission specialists, he's wrestled Bret Hart, and Hart never made him tap.

So if you voted Warrior, and want to keep any amount of consistency, vote Yokozuna, who's never given up in his entire career.
