Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
Okay everybody, due to popular demand, I have here the events for the 2010 Wrestlezolympics. I may add more later, but no matter what, ALL members of the teams will have equal representation.

Since there are to be 8 teams involved, every event will be done using a mini-tournament format. Seeding will be 100% random. I will use an internet random number generator, the same way I did with the Survivor Series tournament last year.

Individual Events

Ironman Match:
1st round - 30 minutes, 2nd round - 45 minutes, Gold and Bronze Medal matches - 1 hour. Obviously, teams will want to send their most athletic, endurance-laden member into this event.

Submission Match:
Traditional submission match. These matches will NOT be no-holds barred. Disqualification would lead to expulsion from the tournament, so safe to say nobody will use weapons or dirty tactics. Any "banned" moves, such as Hell's Gate, will be legal, however. Best bet is for teams to send submission specialists into this event.

Falls Count Anywhere Free for All:
As opposed to the other events, which are single elimination one-on-one matches, one representative from each team will begin in the ring, and as soon as the bell rings, it's anything goes for anyone. 5 referees will be on hand, and anybody can pin or submit anybody else in the match, anywhere. When a wrestler is pinned or submits, they are eliminated, and everyone else continues. The winner receives the gold medal, the last person eliminated wins silver, and the second-to-last eliminated wins bronze. There can be NO outside interference by other wrestlers, managers, teammates, etc. Send your brawlers into this match.

Ladder Match / Money in the Bank:
Similar to the Falls Count Anywhere format, the ladder match will see one representative from each country begin in the ring, with the gold medal suspended from the ceiling. All 8 men begin a "Money in the Bank" style match, and the first person to climb the ladder and grab the Gold Medal is, of course, the gold medalist. That individual leaves the ring area, and the silver medal will decend from the rafters. The 7 remaining participants will duke it out until somebody reaches that prize. And finally, with 6 people remaining (and exhausted) the bronze medal will come down and finish the match. Your agile, ladder-experienced wrestlers are your best choice here.

Team Events

Survivor Series:

Simple format - all 5 members of a country team participate in a 5-on-5 elimination style match. Teams will face off in a single elimination style tournament. Teams will get all of their members back if they advance to the semi-finals and finals. Winning team receives the gold medal, runner up the silver, 3rd place winner the bronze.

Battle Royale:

All 40 men in the Wrestlezolympics will begin in the ring, and members will post votes to eliminate those men. The format will see each wrestler begin with 3 points each, and posts will subtract a point from one wrestler and add to another. When a wrestler reaches "0," he has been thrown over the top rope. Point values will increase as it goes on, and points will be halved at 3 intervals. The final three men in the ring will win medals - but who will win gold, silver, and bronze? Obviously, top Battle Royale / Royal Rumble stars will be the best choices here!

I will announce more events in the future, but this is just a TASTE!

The International Commission on Professional Wrestling (ICPW) has just made a major announcement of a NEW event that is confirmed to be part of the Wrestlezolympics!

The 5th individual event has been announced as a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal tournament!

Each team will send one representative who will be randomly seeded, 1-8. Each match will have it's stipulation decided at random, "by a spin of the wheel." The stip will be announced a few days prior to the start of the match.

Best bet will be for teams to send their most versatile wrestler out. Another strategy may be to assign specialties to the other events and just send whomever is left to this one, hoping for the best!

The International Commission on Professional Wrestling (ICPW) has just announced the events for the 2nd half of the Wrestlezolympics. The 2nd round of events will occur after the conclusion of the Survivor Series Style Match and the "Substitution Round" in which posters will be able to vote off one or two members of the WZO team in favor of alternates.

Tag Team Tournament

Each country will select two men to act as a tag team. From there, a random seeding will be decided and a tag tournament set. The first round of the tag tournament will be a normal 1-fall match. The second round will be submission rules. The finals will be anything goes tornado tag, with the first fall winning. This style will benefit legitimate tag teams that may be on the country roster (i.e. The Bushwhackers, The Thrillseekers), and give some semblance of advantage to those teams that are versed in the submission and hardcore match styles.

King of the Mountain Flag Match

Outside the ring, all 8 participant country flags will be on stands with hooks attached to them. The first wrestler to grab their respective flag, bring it in the ring, climb one of the corner turnbuckles, and hang the flag on an enlongated pole will be named a finalist. The wrestler who hangs his respective flag on one of the other three turnbuckles will then also be named a finalist. So on until 4 wrestlers have advanced, and their respective flag is hanging from a turnbuckle pole. The four wrestlers who were unable to hang their flags on one of the turnbuckles must leave the ringside area. The four remaining participants now battle in a Ladder Flag Match, in which they must be the first to retreive their flag from it's respective corner, climb a ladder, and hang it from the empty hook. The first wrestler to do it wins the gold, the second wins the silver, and the last wins the bronze, with one man going home empty handed.

Ultimate X Match

All 8 participants will start the match together, with the individual medals suspended from the center of the giant X. The first wrestler will look to grab the gold medal, the next the silver, and the last the bronze. Traditional Ultimate-X Rules apply.

Elevation X Match

Tournament style, with only two men on the scaffolding at once. Single elimination style, traditional Elevation X Rules apply.

Following this round of matches, we will conclude the first ever Wrestlezolympics with a Battle Royal style match involving all 40 team members. From there, we begin the medal awards ceremony.

Rules Change - Ladder Matches

The first round of the ladder event will be one-on-one, with a "passport" to the medal round suspended from the rafters. The 4 winners of their respective matches will enter a 4-man Money in the Bank style match, with all 4 men vying first for the gold, the 3 remaining for the silver, and the final 2 for the bronze.
