This is a first round match in the WCW Region, Denver Subregion. It is a standard one on one match held under WCW Rules. It will be held at the Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado.

The most significant moment of Larry Zbyszko's career was not beating Bruno Sammartino. Meanwhile Harley Race was off being a multiple time world champion. Zbyszko's feud is one of the all time greats, but he lost, and would do so against a name as big as Race.

Larry Zbyszko was known as the living legend. Harley Race is a living legend. He achieved more on his own merits than Larry achieved through his whole career with endorsement. To this day, Race is regarded of one of the great champions in wrestling history. The same cannot be said of his opponent.

I would watch this match, god Larry was an awesome heel. And Harley Race is the perfect tough guy for him to have tha program with. However, at the end of the day The King Of Kansas takes this. Race was a man that ruled the roost for years and Zybi is someone whose moment in the sun came with Sammartino and then winning the AWA title when no one was left. Sad for him because Zybysko was a fun guy to watch on the stick, around the ring and in it.

Trivia time: Did you know Race was trained by the famous Zbyszko bothers in his youth? [I pushed for Stan Zbyszko to get in and he barely missed the cut. Next year.] And Larry takes his name from them as a tribute.

Race's resume precedes itself and he should win by a large margin, but Larry is underrated. He had several noteworthy feuds and was popular. He was the last AWA champion that could be considered exceptional. If we take kayfabe into exception he played a major role in "retiring" both Bruno and Bockwinkel.

Race wins though. He should go far.
