I'm really tired of people comparing Laycool with TBP.
Clearly, their gimmicks aren't supposed to be the same. In fact, TBP resembles more of the Vince's Devils rather than Laycool. So basically TNA ripped off Vince's Devils from WWE and made TBP.
Plus it seems as if right now Laycool is more over as the "mean girls."

sharkboy - was a rip off of stone cold with the talking like him the stunner and everything
main event mafia- was just a rip off of the NWO
jay lethal - a rip off of the macho man which wwe made famous
the stars of tna - basically watered down version of what they used to be in wwe
ecw invasion - yet again another rip off of the wcw ecw invasion wwe did
there are prob much more you could say that tna have basically copied from years gone by

Are you people serious? This is ancient news. The entire creation of the Laycool group was solely in response to the popularity of The Beautiful People in TNA. This has been well reported by a multitude of sources several times since the group was created.

Meh, while Lay-Cool might have started off as a responce/ripoff of TBP they've diverged significantly enough to be considered as having different gimmicks now. It's like the US Office and the UK Office. Sure the American Office was a direct responce to the popularity of the British Version, but are you going to tell me that David Brent is the same character as Michael Scott?

Huh? They aren't different at all. They're both groups of bitchy hot chicks who harp on and on about how beautiful they are while deriding other women for their looks.
I'm not saying the LayCool gimmick hasn't been successful, it has and I like it and feel McCool and Layla have been playing the "bitchy hot chicks" role much better than TBP have for awhile now, but they're without a doubt the same gimmick, and there's no arguing LayCool was made in response to TBP.
I think it was Dave who suggested Triple Hennessey. I wish I would've found that post earlier.....But hey, I'm happy with Tyson Kidd because I love The Hart Dynasty.
And Tyson is also a great choice don't get me wrong. Talented guy definitely. The Triple Henessy was mostly because we were needing one of the top guys still.
I'm a Huge fan of The Dyansty, but I also thought The Game would be off limits because he's currently out of action, kayfabe wise of course.
Vince's Devils never helped establish a division, nor did they win anything at all. They didn't last 2 years. Lay-Cool is an imitation of The Beautiful People. But they are doing something to establish the divas for Smackdown. I really couldn't care less that they are imitating a group from another company.
