Songs that bring a tear to your eye

I have bipolar, and had a pretty depressing childhood, I remember listening to this song, when I was going through some deeply personal shit, When ever I'm in a down mood I retreat and listen to this song. All the memories of my childhood and the fact that I failed to live up to my promise of making my life better makes me "shed a few tears". My fiance has realised that this is my depressed song and won't let me be alone if she hears me playing it but It will still always be the only song that can make me cry.

Yeah this song's pretty much the one for me. Especially when you've got that feeling of "I've fucked up pretty big here" and then this song comes on oh so randomly on your iPod. Though I am one of those people who likes to get even more depressed by listening to depressing music when I'm in a bad mood, this is the only one that takes me right to the edge.

Honourable mention goes to this song, for entirely different reasons.

Don't Take the girl by Tim McGraw. Great song about a boy and a girl who grew up together, fall in love, and a tragedy of a death. True young love romance song.

Good one. I love that song. What about this one:

Somebody mentioned James Blunt. You're Beautiful is a good song, but the bigger tearjerker, hands down, IMO is:

The piano in this song just seems to hit that emotional part of your brain as soon as you hear it. Also personal reasons. Fuck, I'm tearing up now listening to it.

Another one:

Amazing is all I can say. Simply amazing. This person made a good tribute vid too. Can't watch the official one, the singer is in it too much and moves her arms around way too often. Horribly distracting, and takes away from the effect of the song.

Finally, this:

Again, can't watch him sing it, no disrespect. His facial expressions simply detract from the song.

Wonderful, beautiful song that makes you stop and think of all the beauty that's honestly in this world.

Pisses me off to no end to think that most of us take it all for granted and we'll probably end up ruining the majority of it in some fashion one day.

I know there are more, and I'll probably return to the thread if/when I think anymore. Love it, Milenko. Great thread.

For me, it has to be Welcome to my Life by Simple Plan

I actually refuse to put this song on my ipod because by the end, I'm either close to tears or am crying. This song is basically a copy of what I'm going through right now. I'm being pushed around by everyone and no one really cares. The chorus is the big part of this song that gets this part.
To be hurt, to feel lost,
To be left out in the dark,
To be kicked when you're down,
To feel like you've been pushed around,
To be on the edge of breaking down,
And no one's there to save you,
No you don't know what it's like,
Welcome to my life.

Two songs that come to mind that effect me emotionally are Everybody's Fool by Evanescence and So Cold by Breaking Benjamin

Everybody's Fool gives me that "look into the mirror" feeling. Alot of people act different in a crowd, and I'm one of those people. I guess what I'm saying is, the song makes me feel bad about myself. XD

As for So Cold, the music video is about a condemned man from Pennsylvania accused of witchcraft. More importantly for me, the lyrics some up history for me.
"Wise men wonder, while strong men die."
It fits into every war, most tragedies, and often daily life. I've had a few moments in my life where this line has summed up my anger.

Both have had me on the verge of tears at one point or another.
