That's not retreating, that is strategy. Link would be trying to trick Robocop into entering water. Now, if Link were to use think to himself "forget this!!!!" and his ocarina to teleport to Lake Hylia to avoid the fight entirely, THAT is retreating.
Retreating is a strategy. It's a strategy where you accept defeat and run away to fight another day. Murphy isn't dumb enough to follow Link into water though.
Link can turn himself invisible using the Magic Cape. You cannot target an object that you are unable to see. He can also avoid the shots in three different methods. Master Sword, his bottles, and even a bug catching net have all been used by Link to make projectiles bounce back at his enemies before.
Yes he can turn himself invisible, I will give you that. However Link can't start the fight invisible, and for the fight to be fair we have to assume both combatants are able to see each other at the start. Murphy could easily use the spray and pray method with the Auto-9 and hit link.
It's also true he can deflect projectiles. Has he ever blocked a bullet though? Let alone a full on automatic barrage of bullets? He isn't a Jedi deflecting blaster fire.
Plus think rationally for a minute Dagger, if you had a butterfly net and a mugger had a gun, would you trust your net to block a bullet just because you saw it in a game?
Have you SEEN how much equipment Link has!? Looking at the list from Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess alone it's a very long list. Add the other games in and he has more than enough in his bag of holding to get the job done.
Murphy is also a cyborg programmed to not stop. Link has more equipment, but not all of it is effective.
Regular arrows might not, but Arrows of Light as made of holy energy. He won't even need his bombs this time.
Don't those arrows only work against dark forces? Regardless its still an arrow being fired at bulletproof armor. Science and history tells me it would simply fall down ineffective as it hit.
He can if Link uses a Deku Nut first to stun him, thus the pressure level in his hands is temporarily nullified with him being unable to move for a moment. That's long enough for Link to hookshot the gun away, or even take it the old fashioned way.
How far can Link throw the Deku Net? How fast can he throw it? I'll wager to say not farther or faster than a bullet.
Already addressed the bomb issue. He won't even need bombs in this round. Just his Light Arrows, as far as attacking is concerned. Link can turn himself invisible to avoid being targeted whatsoever, his Mirror Shield would make the flamethrower's fire bounce back, and the Staff of Byrna can make a barrier so that he cannot be shot by the guns.
Again I'm not convinced the arrows will work, Light Energy or not.
Even if Link is invisible he can be hit.
Has Link's mirror shield ever come up against fire? Even if it has and it is able to deflect the fire, its a stalemate because Murphy can withstand extreme temperatures.
Is the barrier that the Staff of Byrna makes a simple barrier in front of Link or is it a bubble? If it is just a barrier in front of Link it is useless because Murphy has demonstrated the ability to bank his shots. His targeting system also has heat seeking signatures built in. He was once involved in a shootout that took place in a warehouse where the stray bullets hit pipes and in classic pipe fiction they started spewing steam, allowing for no visibility. Murphy still emerged victorious because he could pick up the heat signatures from his enemies.
Link has toys a plenty but Murphy can counter them all and he wins here.
