Superman

ORIGIN:

Although Superman's origin has been retold many times, the story has remained somewhat consistent throughout. Superman's story tells of his birth as Kal-El to renowned scientist Jor-El and his wife Lara on the alien planet Krypton. When Jor-El discovers that the planet is going to explode, he puts Kal-El in a spaceship heading to the planet Earth, which crashes in a field in the state of Kansas.

The ship and its occupant are found by Jonathan and Martha Kent, a farming family, who take him in as their own. As he grows, so does his strength and his strange and awesome abilities, fueled by Earth's yellow sun. As an adult, he moves to the bustling City of Tomorrow, Metropolis, becoming a field reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper, and donning the identity of Superman.

POWERS, ABILITIES, AND FEATS:

As a Kryptonian, Kal-El possesses the ability to absorb the solar energy from yellow stars. His Kryptonian body is constantly absorbing and storing energy from Earth's yellow sun (allowing him to retain energy under roofed structures and even at night) which in turn grants him incredible powers, including superhuman strength, enhanced senses, impenetrable skin, and the ability to defy gravity.

His body is also able to absorb the energy of a blue sun, which also grants him increased strength and various other powers (although not to the same degree as under a yellow sun). Superman has also demonstrated the ability to absorb certain other forms of energy, such as the anti-sunlight of Mageddon.

Super-Strength

Superman has the ability to physically lift impossibly massive amounts of weight. Superman's strength easily surpasses the Class 100 strength level (this is the ability to lift over 100 tons under normal conditions) which is the ability to lift in excess of 100 tons with absolutely no effort at all, and has no known limit. Superman's strength is aided in lifting/supporting the most massive objects--especially when flying--by the bio-electric force field his body produces.

His strength is usually portrayed the same way as most other characters in the Class 100 tier, but his high-end showings indicate his might may be well in excess of planetary levels. While the limits of Superman's strength vary from writer to writer, he is commonly considered in-universe to be one of the most powerful beings on Earth, with some even considering him to be the most powerful.

Super-Speed

Superman has the ability to move and fly incredibly fast. He possesses the ability to achieve speeds faster than light, although this is usually only seen in the vacuum of space as he is known to limit his velocity on Earth to prevent environmental damage. The upper limits of his speed are not quantified, but he is usually considered to be slower than the Flash.

Superman is also capable of combining speed with dexterity to pull off complicated tasks in a short time frame. In battle, he can move so fast his opponents seem much slower relative to him, creating time to avoid attacks and plan his next action. He can also move his limbs at incredible speeds, allowing him to dish out dozens of strikes in a second or less, in a manner similar to the Flash. Superman's mind is similarly accelerated; he can process and understand vast amounts of information nearly instantly.

Vision/Optic Powers

Kal-El is able to see over great distances and perceive even the smallest of objects. This vision also allows him to see through the atomic structure of an object, though he is unable to see through lead.

Superman’s physiology can convert stored solar energy into beams of highly concentrated thermal energy which can reach temperatures comparable to those produced by stars. The two beams of energy which are released from his eyes are bright red in color, but at lower temperatures can be made invisible, allowing him to work undetected.

Super Hearing

Kal-El has the super human ability to hear all sounds at any volume or pitch and across any distance, presumably as long as there is atmosphere to carry the sonic vibrations.

Super Stamina

Superman’s Kryptonian physiology allows him exert himself to peak capacity for an undetermined amount of time. When under the light of a yellow star, he is constantly replenishing his solar reserves. In an environment without the light of a yellow star, his solar reserves are gradually expended as he exerts himself.

Invulnerability

Superman possesses an immense degree of personal invulnerability, and is able to easily withstand bullets, missiles, bombs and other weapons without a scratch. Those without superhuman strength are more likely to hurt themselves than him by punching Superman, and even most characters who possess superhuman strength are not able to hurt him enough to take him down. Destructive power on a cosmic scale may knock him out, but he has survived such attacks and recovered from them.

Although hurting Superman with simple physical force is not an easy task, characters with sufficient superhuman strength of their own, such as Mongul, Darkseid, Doomsday and Despero, among others, are able to do so. Powerful energy attacks are also capable of hurting Superman.

Flight

While Superman's body is charged with solar energy he is able to emit a gravitational field that enables him to defy gravity. Kal-El has extreme mobility while he is in flight allowing him to fight, change course, and also carry great weights. While in Earth's atmosphere Kal-El is able to move at supersonic speed; while in space, he can move at superluminal speeds. Kal-El tends to avoid moving at superluminal speeds while in a planet’s atmosphere so that he does not harm the area around him.

Super Breath / Freeze Breath

Kal-El has the ability to suck in a large amount of air into his lungs and either hold it within him for a long period of time or create strong forces of wind with it. He is able to control the temperature with which he expels this power.

Longevity

In some interpretations, yellow sun-powered Kryptonians have been shown to live almost indefinitely.

Total Recall

Kal-El has the ability to instantly recall events that he pays specific attention to or that hold great emotional significance to him. When he has absorbed solar energy he has the ability to solve problems with superhuman speed.

Combat Experience

Superman is shown to have knowledge in hand to hand combat, the most basic being Boxing and Wrestling.

In Pre-Crisis, Superman knew a Kryptonian martial art called Klurkor, which he taught Lois Lane. Post Crisis, Superman was trained in Torquasm-Rao and Torquasm-Vo, 2 styles of Kryptonian Martial arts. Rao is more physical and offensive, while Vo is more meditative, fluid, and spiritual (the latter can produce a psychic or astral projection aspect, which Superman used to fight the Eradicator and psychic entities like Dominus).

He also displays a knowledge of pressure points, which even dates back to his Golden Age appearance, he claims he was taught this technique by Earth's greatest expert (possibly Batman). It is unknown if he still possesses these skills in the New 52 but Captain Comet has said that Superman's brawling skills are formidable.

Genius Level Intellect/Leadership

Superman is highly intelligent, with a natural IQ higher than humans. He's able to analyze and solve problems in top speed, due to his super speed. He has shown to be able to reprogram machines and apply science to his fighting. Superman has invented a few things from time to time and has solid knowledge on Kryptonian and Earth technology alike. He is also a fantastic journalist and writer, stated to be second best in the Daily Planet, first being Lois Lane.

Superman is also a strong leader. He serves as a symbol of hope to both superhumans and the common civilian. He sometimes uses a Kryptonian technique called "Torquasm Vo," which focuses his mental discipline in tough situations. It has sometimes been used to manipulated the minds of others. The technique of Torquasm Rao allows Superman to separate himself from his physical body, giving him the ability to fight on the astral plane and resist mental attacks.

WEAKNESSES:

Magic

Superman is still a mortal and is, as such, still as vulnerable to the workings of magic, in all its forms, as anyone else. Wonder Woman's Tiara is magical and can therefore be used to injure Superman, for he is susceptible to magic.

In the New 52 (Action Comics #23), it is said that "magic is something that often counters Superman's natural abilities" and that "spells often trump the difference between red and yellow suns that are the source of his powers".

Kryptonite

When Krypton exploded, its fragments crossed through a radiation belt that irradiated them, making the rocks extremely toxic to anyone with Kryptonian physiology, but mostly harmless to anyone else. The mineral causes Superman to lose his powers and experience extraordinary pain and eventually death. If from suffering Kryptonite poisoning, he can recover if he gets away from the Kryptonite and exposes himself to yellow sun radiation, thus fueling his healing factor. Kryptonite has been known to cause harm such as cancer to humans after prolonged exposure to its radiation. (Most notably, Lex Luthor who had to have his hand amputated after wearing a kryptonite ring for an extended period of time during John Byrne's rebiit of Superman after Crisis of the Infinite Earths.) There are several types of Kryptonite and all have different effects on him.

In New 52 appearances, the Kryptonite is again referred to as being rare, is shown that can be used as an energy source . The mineral doesn't take away the Superman's powers, but is able to decrease it . It is unknown if has effects on humans.

Physical Exertion

In his Pre-52 appearances, there have been instances when Superman has had to physically exert himself for extended periods of time. Due to this, his body has little time to rest and recover and thus fails to absorb a sufficient amount of solar energy to continuously power his body. The best example of this was when Superman fought Doomsday which lead to his death.

It is unknown if this still affects Superman in the New 52, but as of yet, Superman has never been forced to physically exert himself and considering his powers still stem from solar absorption, it's safe to assume that it's still possible.

Lead

Superman cannot see through lead thus blocking all of his vision powers. Lead is also known to protect Superman from Kryponite radiation.

Red Sun Radiation

Superman is weakened when exposed to red solar energy similar to that of his home planet's sun, Rao. Superman will lose his Kryptonian abilities when exposed to red sun energy and must be recharged by yellow sun energy in order to regain them.

The Incredible Hulk

ORIGIN:

Robert Bruce Banner was born to atomic scientist Dr. Brian Banner and his wife, Rebecca. Although deeply loved by his mother, Bruce’s father who was mentally unstable harbored a deep jealousy and hatred for him. Brian was convinced that his work in atomic science had altered his genetic structure and because of this he also feared that Bruce would grow up a genetic freak, when actually, Bruce was just a very gifted and intelligent child. While growing up Bruce was subjected to Brian’s drunken rages and abuse, as was his mother. Tragically, Rebecca was killed by Brian when she attempted to take young Bruce and leave him. His mother's murder and his father's arrest left Bruce in the care of his aunt, Mrs. Drake, and he grew up a social outcast due to the trauma of being abused by his father as well as witnessing his mother’s abuse and murder at the hands of his father.

After graduating high school, Bruce began studying nuclear physics at Desert State University and later at the California Institute of Technology. He gained employment with the military at Desert Base, New Mexico under the command of General “Thunderbolt” Ross, who was overseeing the test of Banner’s newly-created Gamma Bomb. It was here that he met Ross’s daughter, Betty and the two found a mutual attraction. On the day of the bomb’s scheduled detonation Banner saw someone in the testing area. Hoping to rescue this person, Banner went into the testing area where he encountered the person he'd seen; a young teenager named Rick Jones, who had sneaked onto the test site on a dare. Banner managed to push Jones to safety. However, rather than delay the countdown and halt the detonation as instructed, Banner’s assistant Igor Starsky, (in reality, a foreign secret agent named Igor Drenkov) allowed the countdown and the subsequent detonation to occur. This resulted in Banner being caught in the Gamma Bomb explosion and thus exposed to an incredibly massive amount of gamma radiation. Banner and Jones were later picked up by the base's military personnel and taken back to Desert Base where they were placed in isolation and observation due to their exposure to gamma radiation. They were still in isolation at sundown when Banner transformed into a gray, monstrous, and lumbering brute for the first time. This brute was quickly dubbed “the Hulk” by military personnel.

POWERS, ABILITIES, AND FEATS:

Physiology

The Hulk's gamma irradiated physiology allows Hulk to survive in space. Hulk/Banner's increase in gamma radiation in proportion to stress(caused by his own physical exertion/anger or outside forces), converting it to stronger cellular mass (stronger DNA which, in turn, produces stronger/denser organic tissues), negating what would be lethal force in order to survive. The growth of Hulk's gamma ray-fueled transmutation gives him potentially limitless strength extending to unparalleled abilities of regenerative healing, stamina, and durability.

Vast Superhuman Strength

Hulk is physically one of the strongest and most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. His limitless strength usually depends on his emotions, especially his rage. Possessed with infinite gamma rays/energies from every dimension/universe in existence, the Hulk is in the Class 100 ton strength range, meaning that he can easily lift over the 100 ton limit. Hulk has the potential to truly be "The strongest one there is".

However, this may vary depending on the incarnation/persona, and also how angry the Hulk is at a certain point. It is well known that the angrier Hulk gets, the more stronger and powerful he becomes. It is a well known fact that Bruce Banner has always suppressed the Hulk and his power, if only out of fear of harming others... especially those that both Banner and Hulk hold dear. But there has been a few times that neither Banner or Hulk could control their fury, thus the result have been quite devastating to say the least.

The Hulk's feats:

Catching and supporting a collapsing 150 billion ton mountain range using barely any leverage. (Marvel Heroes Secret Wars #4)

Tearing through a bunker designed to resist the explosion of a multi-kilo-ton weapon. (Incredible Hulk #177)

Matching the Super-Adaptoid, who had acquired strength and durability of over a hundred heroes like Iron Man and the Vision. (Incredible Hulk #469)

Closing the door of a nuclear core that the combined efforts of Thor and the Thing couldn't budge. (Iron Man Vol 2 #6)

Redirected Gladiator's beams back to his eyes, instantly knocking him out. The blasts were said to be hotter than the sun. (Incredible Hulk Annual 1997)

Matching two Avengers teams during a prolonged period of time even though the Hulk was gradually weaker due to a physical separation from Banner (Incredible Hulk #321-322)

Unleashing intense gamma energy shock waves from his body, Hulk almost destroyed the entire East Coast with a single footstep, while also threatening to destroy the entire planet... and even then he was revealed to be greatly holding back! (World War Hulk #5)

Destroying the Crypto Man after its physical strength became superior to that of even Thor (Incredible Hulk #205)

Overpowering Thor on several occasions (Hulk: Let the Battle Begin #1, Incredible Hulk #440, Mighty Thor #385, Avengers Assemble #4)

Pushing two spheres of matter and antimatter apart (Marvel Team up Annual Two #2)

Pulling and holding the tectonic plates of a planet together, a planet that's mass and gravity far exceed that of Earth (Incredible Hulk #99)

overpowering sufficient force to change the orbit (Tales of astonish #89)

Destroying a planet and the surrounding planets/moons in the Dark Dimension, threatening the entire dimensional/universal realm (The Incredible Hulks #634-635)

Destroying an asteroid that's twice the size of Earth in a single blow (Marvel Comics Presents #52)

Applying force to the space-time structure itself to prevent the Defenders from being absorbed into a fissure (Defenders #3)

Smashing and crushing Adamantium with his bare hands (Incredible Hulk #228; Marvel Team-up Annual #2)

Overpowering and shattering Onslaught's armor, whose power and armor were equal to those of a Celestial (Onslaught: Marvel Universe #1)

Sending concussive energy through countless dimensions after clashing with Ironclad (Incredible hulk #305)

Destroying Nightmare's Realm with his sheer power alone (The Incredible Hulk #299)

Crushing the enchanted uru hammer of Nul: Breaker of Worlds with his bare hands when The Serpent/Cul and his avatars known as The Worthy were at the height of their power (Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula #3)

Superhuman Speed

Hulk has always been noted to have great superhuman speed despite his size due to the power of his gamma-charged body.

Hulk can easily exceed the speed of sound with his punches (as it's made evident with the air-shock waves he produces) and super-leaps.

Hulk can run up to 300 miles per hour, and jump so high and fast he can achieve stable orbit.

He's also caught fighter jets and missiles through the use of super-leaps or reaching out to them with his bare hands.

Hulk usually jumps rather than runs to travel because once he reaches a certain anger level he is unable to run because he breaks apart the ground underneath him, giving him no friction to run on.

Hulk can resist gravity. He went up against Graviton who was making it literally impossible for anyone to move a muscle. While the Likes of Iron Man, Wasp and Thor lay pinned to the ground, Hulk was moving despite Graviton putting tons of extra weight on him on top of the containers he was throwing to stop Hulk from moving. This is the most likely reason why Hulk is incredibly fast. He can defy gravity.

Vast Superhuman Durability

Hulk's skin is extremely durable, his skin can easily resist a Ground Zero explosion, Human Torch's Nova Blast, planet-Shattering impacts, and a blast from Galactus. Hulks durability also increases with his rage. Hulk has also been able to take a blast which Ultron used to soften and manipulate adamantium.

Healing Factor

In proportion to stress, Hulk can instantly renew and augment the atomic-molecular structure of the most basic biological component, the DNA/amino acids, from which all the various uniquely tasked proteins, categorized by cell type and multiplied into tissues and organs, are formed. Hulk's healing factor is superior to that of Wolverine's because it is not limited in the energy necessary to maintain this core foundation.

Adaptation

Hulk is capable of adapting to inhospitable environments when ever it becomes necessary. There were many occasions where Hulk not only survived in airless areas, but has also spoken in them. Same as his healing factor and strength, the angrier hulk gets, the faster he adapts. In the early comics, Hulk also had the ability of flight.

Self Sustenance

Hulk's physiology allows him to survive for a long period of time without food, water or air after he has adapted.

Astral Form Perception

The Hulk has the unique ability of being able to see "astral forms"--or ghosts. Hulk is able to see Dr strange astral form when no one can, which comes in handy when working with his fellow defender strange. The reason for hulk developing this ability could be because of the fact that banner feared his fathers ghost would come back and hunt him. however, hulks astral from perception has not shown it's limitations yet, seeing as how he once experienced a whole town in the middle of the desert until it faded away. while it is possible that this was merely a mirage, it is also credible that hulk witnessed a town that didn't exist in our reality . there was a case during world war hulk when hulk broke Dr strange's hands while he was in his astral form.

Vast Superhuman Stamina

Hulks stamina is also very high, in a normal calm state, he can go on for several days before he even begins to feel tired. Hulk's stamina increase with his anger.

Energy Projection/Absorption

When sufficiently enraged The Hulk emits omnidirectional bursts of Gamma rays, to hugely destructive effect. These Gamma shockwaves were capable of utterly annihilating Fin Fang Foom and Arm'Chedon.

The Hulk's body soaks in radiation like a sponge, using it to empower himself. Increasing not just his usual abilities but also on occasion his size.

WEAKNESSES:

The Hulk is not particularly vulnerable to anything special.

WHO WINS??

Can I just take everything I said in the John Cena vs. Andre The Giant thread and post it here?? I could replace John Cena with Superman and replace Andre The Giant with the Hulk. We’re probably going to get the same result. A close battle, but SuperCena comes out on top.

This is basically THE most debated and discussed comic book battle of them all.

For me, it all sort of comes down to which version of Superman or the Hulk we're talking about in the fight. If we're talking about Superman from the late 30s through about the very early 50s, any incarnation of the Hulk takes it. If we're talking about Superman from the mid 50s through the mid 80s, then it'd take pretty much the entire Marvel Universe to put him down as his powers were so grossly exaggerated that it really became a detriment to the character as it became harder and harder to think of anything interesting to do with him. The rebooted Superman of the mid 80s by John Byrne through the early 2000s wasn't unlimited and could therefore be dealt with. Superman of today after yet another reboot is basically a kid, if I'm not mistaken, and probably hasn't really come into his own.

The Hulk's gone through a variety of incarnations based on the fact that Banner has multiple personalities that've manifested as different versions of the Hulk. The most well known Hulk is frequently called the Savage Hulk, he's the one we've seen in the movies, and he basically has the intellect of a small child. The Gray Hulk, AKA Joe Fixit, has normal intelligence and a more macho sort of attitude that's more along the lines of a teenager, the Merged Hulk, AKA the Professor, is sort of Bruce Banner's idealized version of himself in which he has Banner's intelligence. The Hulk from the World War Hulk storyline, sometimes called the World Breaker or Green Scar, is sort of seen as an ultimate incarnation as it's both the various Hulk and Banner personalities working in complete synch with each other.

This is one of those battles that pretty much decimates half the planet as these two are arguably the two heaviest of the heavyweights in comic books, not counting the various entities like Galactus, the Spectre, Living Tribunal, the various abstract concepts like Death, Eternity, etc. as they're just on higher levels of power. I think Superman's best shot at a win would be to try to take Hulk out as early as he could as Hulk simply becomes more powerful as time goes on due to his anger. The only way I think that could really happen is if Superman doesn't hold back and just flat out goes at Hulk with EVERYTHING he's got. The problem is that Superman is frequently thought of, and rightly so, as sort of a big blue Boy Scout in that, most of the time, he just instinctively holds back.

The Hulk isn't known for his restraint and will come at Superman hard and fast right from the start. The Hulk's strength, stamina, durability and healing all increase as he gets angrier so, on the onset, I don't think he'll be on Superman's level. Supes will be able to withstand the assault and return in kind which, most likely, will only result in Hulk's anger escalating and so on. During the WWH storyline, Hulk's rage once grew to such levels that merely walking was enough to cause massive earthquakes and he was all but completely out of control.

Superman's essentially a living solar battery, yellow sunlight is his power source, and if Hulk's rage jacks his strength to high enough levels, Supes will have to burn more and more of that stored solar energy to fight back and to keep up. The result would be similar to that with Doomsday in that as his body so quickly depleted the solar energy stored in his cells, he became weaker and more physically vulnerable. As a result, eventually, I think Hulk would start to hurt Superman quite significantly. Of course, by the time this happens, probably a healthy portion of the United States looks like a burned out warzone.

I could see this going either way, but I'm going with the Hulk. When Hulk is fully unleashed, the guy's basically the physical incarnation of rage and power who can withstand just about anything.

This.

I've had experts drown my senses with reasons for why Superman just can't lose, only to have me respond with "But.... he has lost."

Superman has taken A LOT of losses in his random encounters with other comic book elites. "But what about being a god and pulling entire planets with his fore-arm strength!?", I don't want to hear it.

This isn't a test of power, this is a fight. You can be the greatest fighter of all time; if your head isn't in the game, then you lose my faith in you.

Still, someone always comes up with "But but but... Superman can travel through time!"

I just have one question for everyone. Could you ever see the Hulk going down like Superman did in the following picture?:

Superman-vs-Muhammad-Ali-pg-37-top-tiers.jpg

Comic book canon dictates that Superman went down like a bitch to a regular old human named Cassius Clay. Hulk would have stomped one foot and caused the entire arena to collapse.

Hulk smashes, Hulk wins.

I'll tell you what; since you're a king and all I think they'll allow it. I'll also give you that Superman can pick a side-kick of his choice to aid him in his effort to defeat Hulk in this match.

Let's see who Superman picked as his mystery tag team partner!

Depends on the version. Strongest version of the Hulk that I know of is World War Hulk, who held the tectonic plates of a collapsing planet together with his strength alone. Strongest version of Superman held the entirety of the New 52 mutliverse in his hands and could probably give the Living Tribunal a run for his money. That's far above Hulk's level. Even weaker versions of CA Supes like the Pre-Crisis version could casually sneeze away planetary systems and nearly destroy the universe by flying too fast. I'm not all that familiar with the current Superman, but the Post Crisis version that Death Battle used against Goku would probably be a good match for World War Hulk. I still think Post Crisis Supes would win, especially if he sun dipped. His Infinite Mass Punch is like being hit with a white dwarf star moving at the speed of light. Which is roughly 4,000 times the force of a supernova.

Most versions of Supes will defeat most versions of the Hulk, so I vote Supes.

I hate to say it but I have to go with Supes here. There has been a lot of talk as to which version of Supes is in use. The most widely accepted version is the post 1986 version of Supes. That's the version of Superman that has somewhat relegated abilities. Pre 86 Supes had crazy abilities like sneezing galaxies out of existence or being able to travel through time with the greatest of ease. Although post 86 Supes was reigned in, he still is easily the most OP hero in comics. He once held a black hole in one hand. He lifted a book having infinite pages. That means he lifted infinity. He has moved the earth, he has heard Jimmy's signal watch in space light years away from earth. That is physically impossible, but he did it. He's been knocked from space down to earth so hard that it caused a nuclear winter and he stood up moments later with nary a scratch on him. "But he was beaten to death (healing coma) by Doomsday." True, but that was before Supes had learned the full scope of his abilities. When he lost to Doomsday, he still thought he needed to eat, sleep, and breath like regular people, but he can survive on solar energy alone. Superman has flown to the center of stars, he has tanked nuclear blasts, and even super novas. With his combination of speed, strength, intelligence, and skills I don't see how he could lose to the Hulk. Hulk has the potential to reach Superman's power levels only if Superman allows the fight to go that long and I don't think Superman now would. Years ago he would, but now, with his experience, I don't think he would.

I have to go with Superman.

"But he was beaten to death (healing coma) by Doomsday." True, but that was before Supes had learned the full scope of his abilities.

Here's my biggest problem with Superman; he's a dumbass. Losing a battle because he didn't know the full scope of his abilities is the most pathetic reason to lose a fight.

On top of that, it's my understanding that he's still psychologically attached to Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane. Hulk on the other hand is a lone wolf who literally has no inhibitions about what tactic he might use to defeat his opponent.

Superman's notoriety and gullibility have made him the most vulnerable superhero in comic book history. While I can accept Superman defeating someone like Goku who would be too noble to exploit one of Superman's weaknesses, Hulk would give Superman's face a kryptonite dermabrasion.

The second that Superman shows even the slightest weakness, Hulk would be all over that. Hulk on the other hand has no exploitable weaknesses, you can't just throw a certain element at Hulk and expect him to be drained of powers.

At this point, having already lost to Superman before, I think that a more lucid Hulk would craft a set of brass knuckles with kryptonite spikes. There's also the fact that in the comic book world, kryptonite is highly radioactive. Radioactivity, it's my understanding, enhances Hulk's abilities. So Superman's most famous weakness would make Hulk able to go even more ape-shit than usual.

Superman gets a new power every five seconds to stay relevant, he's lost track of all the wondrous things he can do and has consequently lost fights because he has the attention span of a gnat. I think Hulk would bring more to this fight than a pair of ripped purple shorts and would stop beating on Superman until every ounce of his form was pulverized into plasma.
