Jericho 0 - Hackers 3. You can't make this up!

With the safety off!!
First we all had a little chuckle when Seth Rollins ex girlfriend hacked his Twitter account and posted nude pictures of him a few months ago. If you remember it was in retaliation for a supposed affair with an NXT Diva he was having. Nothing came of it.

Now we've learned that Chris Jericho has had his Twitter and Instagram accounts hacked. While this isn't earth shattering news by any stretch of the imagination, the fact that he's been hacked 3 times in 2 days is absolutely hilarious.

The first time the hackers posted some pornographic photoshopped pictures of him, along with various tweets about him and Vince McMahon. They were quickly removed, and Jericho got his accounts back. Instead of letting sleeping dogs lie, Jericho went on the offensive and basically gave the hackers the middle finger.

Well it didn't work out too well for him, because he was immediately hacked again, and all his pictures on Instagram were removed. Again he decided to poke the bear, and got hacked again. This time the hackers basically told him how they were doing it and if he wanted it to stop how to go about it.

Presumably he's taken their advice and this will be the end of it. This brings us to a bigger issue. The WWE relies on social media to get the word out and all the WWE Superstars use Twitter, Instagram and other vehicles to promote themselves and upcoming events. If you are running a product that is geared mainly towards kids, do you really want your son or daughter logging on and seeing nude pictures of their favourite WWE Superstar.

Now some might say that's overreaching a bit, but it's already happened, because their accounts are tied to WWE.com, Rollins pictures showed up there for a short time. While no one is saying anyone should stop using social media to promote themselves, and hackers will always find a way in if they want.

In my opinion Jericho handled it all wrong. He should have kept his mouth shut, changed his password and security settings and let it go. There is nothing to be gained by telling someone to just hacked your social media to "go fuck themselves" because if they did it once, they'll do it again. In this case they did it three times.

This will happen again to another WWE Superstar, and when it does hopefully they will handle it differently. Thoughts?

Behold the wonders of the information age.

Here's the thing; at a certain point in our lives we reach a level of status where our public image really does have a huge impact on our ability to prosper. You spend decades earning as many accolades as you can, you submit your extensive resume to a reputable employer, annnnd they check your social media accounts.

The internet is evolving, and we're evolving with it. Where once a guy could rake in some serious cash by promoting revenge porn, that same guy is starring in his own porn within the cold walls of a state prison. We're unfortunately still at a point where a disenfranchised sixteen year old can rally his friends and crash the entirety of Xbox Live over being called a ****** during a heated game of Call of Duty.

One thing I've learned in life is to be wary of when I am at a disadvantage, under that circumstance I have no shame in admitting that I'm a lesser individual and that I'm not beyond begging pathetically for my reputation back.

Chris Jericho is a bit of an anomaly. He's way over, and doesn't have to dominate his opponents to maintain that status. He took down Goldberg during a scuffle in the shower that Goldberg initiated. His rock shows are certifiably bad ass and I highly recommend going to one at least once in your lifetime. He deserves to have the ego that he's developed.

Then we come to the internet and it's many wondrous possibilities. Has Chris Jericho ever been a jack-off to someone else? Sure, who hasn't? What would you estimate the percentage might be in terms of likelihood that Chris Jericho brushed off some random kid's comment on twitter with a casually insulting remark? I think it might be likely that Chris greatly overestimated the integrity of his social media accounts. Hopefully now he'll choose to completely ignore those who succeed when they earn his ire.

To whoever hacked him; get over yourself and put those skills toward an endeavor that actually benefits your community. To Chris Jericho; rock on, but please be wary of how much power the internet gives to young people who are dangerously disproportionate when it comes to balancing ambition and purpose.

I think it's pretty ironic, considering where his "Y2J"-moniker comes from.

I'm not very active on social media (especially not Instagram, since I can just go google pictures of other people's food if I wanted to), but WWE has to keep with the times.

It's a difficult thing to handle, since if a storyline includes a pot-shot fired on twitter (hopefully in kayfabe), people who don't care about social media would go "oh no, not this shit again" and people who follow WWE and are on twitter probably follow the wrestlers on there as well.

That said, you can't put a price on free advertising :p

To be honest I felt so bad for Chris Jericho when he got hacked the first time. The hacker was posting god awful pornographic posts on his Instagram. I even made a thread about this on the Wrestling Spam Section.

But its true that Chris handled the situation pretty badly. When he got his account back the first time he posted Jericho - 1 Hackers - 0 This stimulated them to hack his account again and yeah they literally posted that his security question for email is pathetic.

Well Chris you got your account back but you should've Shut the hell up!! But he posted a video asking the hackers to Suck it!! and posted Jericho -2 Hackers - 0 WellWell mate, You pushed the wrong button.

Its pathetic! Both parties are guilty on this one. But the major crime meted out is by the Hackers, They shouldn't have hacked his account as that gives them no creditability!! But Chris should've really handled the situation in a peaceful way. The fault is on him as well. But let's hope this stuff ends well soon for Chris Jericho. Of course he's one of my favourite Wrestler.

Cheers!!

I don't understand that if these "Hackers" can hack anyone so easily, why Jericho? Out of all the celebrities in the World, why go after him? It's so random. There's nothing to gain from it, it's not making major headlines, you can't "leak" anything for financial gain, he's not a controversial figure.... I just don't understand it.

It comes to a point where Jericho has had to have made it easy for them. Using simple passwords, keeping the same email log in, etc. No one should be able to get hacked this easily over and over again. If it was so simple, more celebrities would get hacked on a daily basis.

But at least Jericho isn't having anything "exposed" that could ruin his public image, get him in trouble at home, etc. It's just ridiculous stuff getting posted, so overall it's not that big of a deal. I'm sure eventually he'll find a solution for it, and it certainly won't be kissing the hackers ass so they stop.

In the end, the joke will be on the hackers since Jericho said on his podcast that they found who the hackers was and he will press charge again them and that one of the charge that he will press against them is child pornography so in the end, jericho will have the last laugh and by the way, he only got hack twice since the the third time was only a miscommunication between wwe tech and tech from his record company that were trying to fix is account at the same time and cross the stream which make his account shot down again.

So I really hope that the cops get these guys because it's one thing to write crap about somebody, but putting pornography on somebody account is a crime especially when kids can see it.

Rollins ex girlfriend to my knowledge was never arrested or charged with posting nude pictures of him on his Twitter. So are you suggesting that she also fall under the same fate as these hackers?

And I see Jericho hasn't learned his lesson if he's going on his podcast talking about knowing who it is and what's going to happen to them. There is more than one hacker group out there and continuing to be big man on campus, is just going to get him in more trouble with them.

Losers need to be told that they are losers, otherwise they will never get better.

So Jericho should have told them to "go fuck themselves", point out that they are losers and then IMMEDIATELY change his Twitter account or his password. This will confuse the losers, since they can't compensate for their tiny dicks anymore by hacking accounts to feel more like men.

Ok, glad we got that out of the way. Was Jericho kind of dumb for provoking the hackers? Sure, whatever. But Jericho getting hacked is still someone's personal information being used against them. I never saw the actual hacking, as I tend to steer clear of stories in which someone's been hacked. Truth is, we really need to get out of this era of shaming the hacked.

No taking someone's personal information and using it for personal gain is never funny, and it's against the law. But if you had read the post, the main point is how it was handled, and it wasn't handled well. No one is shaming Jericho here. He was hacked and instead of saying nothing and moving on, he opened up a can of worms, and it came back to bite him in the ass on two more occasions.

These hackers live in the darkness, behind computer screens that could be anywhere. Don't you think the best defense is not a good offense in this situation. Instead of rattling his saber, Jericho should have quietly taken care of it and not drawn anymore attention to himself.

Well, Jericho really had nothing to lose by telling these pre-teen, hormone-ridden morons, that they are in fact, pre-teen, hormone-ridden morons. To be honest, I would probably do the same considering I had nothing overtly incriminating or embarrassing to hide, which Jericho obviously didn't.

So they hacked him... and they posted shit that quite obviously didn't come from Chris Jericho... and everybody knew it. Some people are not going to just lay down and shut up when random internet trolls attack them. Just look at half the threads on this forum if you want proof of that.
