JBL on Commentary= Pure Gold

Ever since JBL has made the transition as announcer I have been amazed by the guy's abilities behind the annouce table... I've always known he has great talent on the mic, but my god this guy make Friday Night's worth watching with his views and commentaries as such. They've needed a good heel announcer and that is what they got with JBL with a splash of humour. To me Tazz was all humour with the occasional HOLY SHIT once a year but still was very good for knowing stuff in the ring. King and JR in all honesty may aswell seem like they are married... i swear to go sometimes it seem's like that with the petty little argument's over King's obsession for Puppies or Diva's. I have provided some commentary quotes from JBL that I have found to be hilarious!

Ashley Massaro on Halloween- "Hey look Michael she's wearing a Michael Cole outfit.... a big fairy which what you are you sissy"

Boogeyman- " Who the hell let this guy on Smackdown, Call teddy long this guy does not belong in a damn ring"

Funaki- " Chinese...oriental star whatever the hell he is...who is this guy"

Jimmy Yang- " A cross between JR and Jackie Chan"
" Why doesn't he just go work in a noodle house"

King Booker- "Shut your damn mouth you peasant Michael, there's a King in presence damnit."

Miz- " I absolutley hate this guy, he goes on a reality show and gets in a ring... I busted my ass for over 15 years.. I hate this guy"

But what I also like is how JBL recognize's great talent that is up and coming or stuck in lower midcard like Matt Hardy or London and Kendrick etc.

Yeah I think he's great. He's better than any of the other commentators. He's even made Michael Cole better purley by being associated with him. J.B.L. is always enthusiastic and he never relies on cliche's. He also does plenty of research, he drops plenty of inside jokes. The one good thing about J.B.L.'s title reign was his promos, and now he's a commentator we get to hear them all the time.

JBL on commentary is one of the main reasons that I think Smackdown has turned around lately. His comments are wonderful, and he does play the heel announcer persona to a T. And he doesn't make stupid, long tirades about puppies and crap like that. He makes comments that most of us at home are thinking, and that is what makes it more enjoyable.

This was also posted, but I also enjoy how he gives a rub to other talent, like Hardy, Kendrick and London and also to Mr. Kennedy. He constantly puts them over for their talent and the abilities they have in the ring. This just shows how much he enjoys his work, watching others do good work in the ring and that he is wanting to put that info out to the fans. Notice, he is not pushing the normal Vince faves (over 6'6" monsters that can't wrestle) but the actual people with talent.

In about 2 years he could have a better partner: Booker T. That would be the greatest announce team in history. When JBL talks you really believe what he's saying. Taker for example when he says that SD! is the nº1 brand or at Survivor Series when he "flipped out" when Batista used the title. It can't get any better.

Yes they should get rid of michael cole and replace him but not with King Booker! With MR.KENNEDY!

JBL is one of the best commentators ever no discussion, its a shame that he has michael cole as his partner, but with jbl's great commentating ability and michael coles not so great commentating ability it kind of balances out so its just like any other commentating team.

I just think he is too loud. But he does say some very funny things, and has talent, just needs to be less loud. Maybe I'm crazy, I have not watched as much SD! as you all, so maybe I just had a couple bad experiences.

I didn't realize he said so many racist things tho. Almost every quote on your list was a minority joke.

JBL is great and he makes smackdown great he is the best heel I have ever seen, i have watched wwe since 04 when he and eddie had a steel cage match. If he gets back in the ring i want to see him have another run with a world title on smackdown.

Booker T is a terrible announcer...funny at times but he just stinks the place up badly when he commentates with Cole and JBL or back in the summer with Tazz there. He just talks over them and repeats the same crap over and over or screams a lot and you hear too much feedback.

Some of the best heel announcers through out time include Booby Heenan, Jim Cornette, and at one time The King. But JBL is really starting to give them a run for their money in my book because not only does he say some really funny and down right ignorant ass things about Cole which is priceless but he does put over the guys who deserve it and not some piece of crap like The Miz. Where as The King would say some shit like:

"LOOK ITS THE MIZ JR. ahahahh I LOVE THIS GUY HOOOO RAH HOOOOOO RAH!"
He would too! Same with Tazz he'd be all over The Miz's nuts right now marking out like a school girl.

I'd like to see JBL take on The Miz one night and crush his ass just for the hell of it on ppv.

One of his great moments that stands out for me was back at Summerslam

JBL: "how the hell does Umaga Ali Baba Estrada or whatever the Hell he calls himself expect to get over in this business wearing a suit and stupid white hat?"

Ironic seeing as JBL wears a 10 gallon white cowboy hat all the time lol. Made me chuckle.

I think JBL is soon going to become SD GM b/c he is always complaining about Teddy Long's ideas and WWE.com as a poll where you can vote for or against T'Lo being the GM.

JBL was good the first month of commentating but it seems to me he tends to repeat the same things over and over every week and just puts in a new joke or two to try to mix it up.

It would be good to see JBL and T Long fight over the control of SmackDown. We haven't had something like that for a while and would make things interesting. JBL is the funniest commentator I've ever heard, and he should stay that way. As for an in-ring return, it's possible, but if you've seen the state of him lately (Tribute to the troops) he looks pretty fat (can't blame him, he hasn't done anything for 6 months.)

JBL, is hilarious, I admit I have caught him saying a couple things twice, but he probably does it cause not everyone has had a chance to hear it, its like telling a joke to a group of 10 people, 4 may have already heard it before, but the other 6 haven't, and I do believe he might be the only commentator to be censored, during a bout between Undertaker and Kennedy he was yelling something about the Taker and it went along the lines of:

"How can they allow this kind of a match to take place (Last Ride Match) after that big bastard broke my *long bleep* and put me out of my own ring."

^ They tag teamed one episode of Smackdown during JBL's fued with Mysterio. Funniest promo's before a match i've ever seen. JBL came out with a muel and made fun of Rey's Mexican background. Kennedy came out shortly and was talking to the muel and saying it was tony chimmel saying how his announcing still sucked. They won that match to my joy and even had an awesome victory thing with Kennedy announcing both their names completely awesome tag team.

JBL is a a great commentator, mainly because he cant shut up, and the fact the him and Michael Cole, might not be everyones choice, but they have a great comedy connection, they work together, much like the "MARRIED COUPLE" Jim Ross and Jerry Lawer

I think JBL is BY FAR the best comentator right now. He's hilarious, he has the knowledge, and his voice and accent even make him unique. He's the total package as an announcer, and I hope he stays there for a long time (unless he returns to the ring that is).
