Carlito Turns On Flair

Thufferin' Thuccatash!
Ok, so it finally happened. Carlito beat up on Ric Flair during their match with WGTT. One can only assume this means a full-fledged Carlito heel turn. Ok, good for Carlito, maybe he can get somewhere now.

But am I the only one who thought they screwed it up by having Flair fight back? The way I saw it, there was hardly any statement made whatsoever, just a fight between two partners turned rivals. It barely made Carlito look like a heel.

This is what should have happened. Carlito turns on Flair, beats the hell out of him, leaves. That simple. That would have made a statement.

I was talking to a friend about it and he said "Well the reason he fought back was because it's Flair, and Flair won't stay down." I reminded him that Flair is almost a jobber these days, he could have easily stayed down.

I just hope to go Carlito beats Flair when they end up facing each other.

What does everyone else think of this?

Personally I like the fact that Carlito went heel. After all a while back I'm pretty sure he said something along the lines of he'd rather be heel cause being a heel is closer to his natural personality. He was great as a face, and way back when he was on SD! he was a decent heel, but very inexperienced, it should be interesting now to see him work as a heel with some experience under his belt. As far as the thing with Flair goes I can definatly see that match happening as early as next week or as late as Judgement Day, I'm also curious as to how Torrie Wilson will factor into this feud, as chancesare we're going to see Carlito snap on her probably

Carlito is good playing a heel, although they could have made him look more heel by getting him to talk trash.

I glad they finally turned Carlito heel, if I was going to change anything about his heel turn though it would be that I would have carlito attack flair then go get a chair or something and beat flair up some more until he's left in the ring a bloody mess, that or when they get to the top of the stage, have Carlito hit a DDT on Flair something like that, I'm hopeing that this heel turn will eventually get Carlito into the main event picture, I wouldn't mind seeing Carlito vs. Cena for the WWE title

Just to clarify, I'm all for Carlito's heel turn and would love to see him in the main event picture. I just think Flair fighting back and having Carlito flee from the stage made Carlito look week. So basically my problem isn't with the turn, just with the way it was done.

And I pray they don't have some kind of angle where Flair sleeps with Torrie. That would just be disgusting.

ye it did look odd that flair got back up and started to fight, i think carlito may have been thrown off by it aswell. it looked like they didnt know what to do besides poke eachother in the eyes.
carlito needs to squash flair, carlito turns on torrie aswell, then i would say torrie could be the valet of the horsemen since they always seem to have one(debra, woman, miss elizabeth), well actually that was the later wcw days on the horsemen.

I was just waiting for this to happen
and Carlito is much better as a heel
Probably at Judgement day they'll have a match

mayb next week carlito is gonna snap at Torrie
and then Torrie can go for the women's title

I get exactly where you are coming from here. I didn't actually watch RAW (no I didn't boycott it, I forgot to tape it) but from what I have read it seems like rather than an actual turn it was just a scuffle between two people. I get what the WWE are trying to do, they are doing a slow burn and slowly turning Carlito Heel, but that doesn't always work, most of the time a huge heel turn works the best. Remember when Triple H came back in 2005 he was a face for five minutes then beat the living crap out of Flair. Thats what I think should of happened here, Carlito needed to momentum that a turn like that would have given him.

I totally agree with what rabbid wolverine said. If carlito snaps on torrie and flair comes down to save her flair n carlito fight with flair getting the upper hand until TWGTT comes down and helps carlito destroy flar until benoit n AA come down to help flair. That way you have the carlito heel turn in full swing n it brings back the 4 Horsemen and gives them a stable to fued with. It kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

Contrary to belief, I don't really see the 4 Horsemen reuniting, and if they do, it will last shorter then... I don't know... a Val Venis title run. This is going to do wonders for Carlito. He is the man as a heel. Spitting apples in peoples faces and being a complete asshole. Come on, that sells itself, lol. I hope to hell I get to see him spit in Ric Flair's face and have the balls to say "Your Not Cool!" The only bad thing about it, is IF they 4HM reunite, then who will tag with Carlito? Masters? (zzz...zzz...zzz...) WGTT, the same two guys that deserve to have a bigger push then they are getting???? If people were smart enough, I'd start getting Randy Orton in this mix. Legends, and Legend Killer... come on. Carlito and Randy Orton tagging against a legendary tag team. Benoit coming over to join them is a bad idea. As Smackdown is already on the ropes without much star power. The main idea is for Carlito to start down the heel road. Personally I would like to see Torrie Wilson join him down that road, she can be a royal bitch, and be one very good. But then again, she could also be a good Women's Champ. So it will be interesting to see where she might fall in this feud. So, time will tell, go Carlito.

Carlito's heel turn should have been the hit and run style we are all accustomed to..BUT, I think by having Flair fight back, they are actually putting him in his final run, so to speak, and depicting Flair as a man who will go down, but go down fighting.
As far as Torrie sleeping with Naitch...me and my friend were discussing that Monday night, and all we could think of was the Dawn Marie/Al Wilson debacle. Granted, she could probably kill Flair with sex at this point in his life...but seriously, it sucked the first time, it'll be worse this time. I lioke the idea of Torrie going for the women's title, or being the valet of the Horsemen. Either way would be good for her.

Forgive this for being a little off topic, but I really must reinterate my deep respect for Flair. Time and time again he has been willing to be humiliated and beat down by younger guys, (punks compared to him), just to help the business and the youngster's career. Out of all the big guys, HHH, Hogan, he is willing to drop his legend status for a beatdown. I give him a lot of credit and respect. Carlito VS Flair after a viagra crazed night with Torie? Love it! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :D

I think they will put Carlito all by himself or with Randy Orton, Orton needs a new feud and I dont believe that they will put him main-events for a year or so.

So, at this point, it would be 'Cool RKO'? :D I believe they could work very well as heels attacking Flair, and then, Flair reunites with Benoit and form the 4 Horsemen again.

This could be very good for ratings even if they stick to be on RAW, they could also, like so many other feuds, go to SmackDown! or ECW and make huge tag team matches involving, for example, in ECW, Originals & 4 Horsemen vs. New Breed & Carlito & Randy Orton.

Also on SmackDown!, Kennedy could "help" Orton or Carlito or even MVP, for 4 Horsemen side they could have Torrie, becaming face, like she is already, and then helping themselves screwing Carlito and Orton...

It would be great to see a Survivor Series match involving this four as team captains.

I think its about time that they turned Carlito Heel, his apple gimmick just cant be done as a face. And although they'll probly use flair as a jobber to give carlito a push, i'd like to see flair get a tittle run before he retires.

In the past few years hes help get over Orton, Batista even edge to an extent, and even Kenny. I think the wwe owe him, Back in the ecw days heyman gave the tittle to terry funk for the work he had done.

And for the torrie wilson issue, i think she'll take flair's side then turn heel and go with carlito.

I agree with all that the heel turn is the best for Carlito, the last time he was a heel he was actually fun to watch as it came natural to him. Torrie should turn with him too, maybe not right away but maybe have her get into the wrestling scene only to lose a couple, get frusturated then have carlito help her turn heel while he climbs the ranks either in the IC or just into the main event matchs, both occompany each other to ring thus building more and more heat towards both. If that works we have the makings of a potential IC champ and Womens Champ working togather to keep one anothers title. As far as the Flair return attacks and running after carlito was poorly played out. While i don't think that Carlito should have beaten him bloody( i think we have all seen flair in that position too many times) rather beat him in the ring walk away have flair chase but never really getting the upper hand via carlito with a weapon of sorts then have them settle in a No DQ no countout 2 out of 3 falls carlito on top ready for a bigger longer feud with maybe HBK

Why is Flair being used as a stepping stone for other stars. Trust me, you put him up against anybody and he can still go like he could twenty five years ago. They never treated the so called "great" Hulk Hogan like this. Hogan only cares about money and could never wrestle worth a crap. Sorry for the rant but this just frustrates me. I hope the Horsemen come back so Flair can do something useful instead of the crap their giving him now

He's willing to put people over unlike Hogan. But he does it so often it doesn't mean anything anymore. And if he can still go like he did 25 years ago, why doesn't he? Because he cant. He's washed up. Although people wouldn't realise it as much if he had a Hogan or even Foley schedule.

The other thing about Flair is.. isn't he having or recently had some money issues? He has a couple of ex-wives and alimony, right? I thought that was part of the reason he still kinda had to work a full time schedule..and since he needs the money, he doesn't have the same type of leverage to get a contract with creative control or an easier schedule? Or am I totally wrong about that?

As to the Flair/Carlito fued.. its kinda weird that Carlito is actually getting exactly what he wanted when he made that pre-Wrestlemania rant.. he's getting to turn back to heel and if he goes over Flair, its actually a minor push. That seems weird in light of the amount of backstage heat those comments supposedly got him. To be honest, I'm a little confused on where this fued is going to go. And, on top of that, if Masters gets pushed to the IC title eventually, are we really going ot have to see ANOTHER Carlito/Masters fued if Carlio goes over Flair?

Carlito/Masters is quite possibly going to be one of those feuds that will go on for years, I don't mind if they keep it as one of those simmering feuds that flares up every once in a while like Triple H and HBK. It will be interesting to see how Carlito takes this turn and see if he carrys the ball, it could catapult him into the mainevent picture if he does it well enough.

I really hope you are wrong about Carlio/Masters going on for years. The difference between them and HBK/HHH (ok one of many differences but the one that is most important to my point) is that there is no chemistry between Carlito and Masters. Even when they were tagging together around New Year's Revolution of two years ago, I was just so uninterested in them together. I didn't think their ring-work was great together and I didn't think their personalities played well off each other at all. Also, I don't think either one of them are good faces, and its hard to have a "simmering rivalry" situation between two heels that people will actually care about.

I want to see Masters/Carlito re-unite as a tag team on RAW to help the tag division. Make them a dominant tag team with Carlito being the ''brain'' of the team and Master's being the ''muscle'' of the team. They had good chemistry in the ring togeather wether its facing off or staying on the same page as a tag. I liked there feud with Kane and Big Show and only wished it went longer. They can go ahead and try to make him succeed as a singles star as well if they want to and having a feud with Santino for the IC title.

Its still early on in the picture, so it could be one of those feuds that do go on for years but people forget about it until it is brought up again. I don't actually mind these two as having a simmering Rivalry where they are both Heels, it makes it different from everything else put out there, has it ever occured before so it makes sense if they do it like this.

As for Carlito turning on Flair it should propel Carlito to the next level.

Unless Carlito is out of the doghouse, which I doubt very much that he is, this feud won't do much good for him, other than getting him back to a heel. The turn was just too stretched out to be effective, and should have happened well before Backlash because it turned out too predictable in the end for the fans and just didn't work well. I'm sure that anyone attacking Flair will make them a heel so I guess Carlito got what he wants in the end out of that, but whether or not he is able to get something out of being a heel and not just a jobber to guys like Hardy and Flair, will be another thing. But again, this feud was too played out to work and is probably going to end up as just a one match feud that doesn't mean much in the long run. Good to see Carlito bad again as he is at his best when that happens, and I hope a return to SmackDown will sort him out and get him back on track as Raw hasn't been that good for him and the US division. Flair seems only good for these types of feuds though, and I suppose that putting over young wrestlers is what we should expect and hopefully the WWE will use him in that role for Carlito here.

I'm soooo happy Carlito is a heel again, I got so sick of him coming out with Torrie and that dumb dog everyweek smiling and happy. That's not what made him one of my favorite wrestlers. Man I haven't seen him spit a apple on anybody in a while. This should be great but knowing WWE he might end up on Heat.

Carlito is an idiot Ric Flair gave a lot of chances and carlito just turned on him for no reason. I hope Flair destroys Carlito
