Zayn missing? | WrestleZone Forums

Zayn missing?

Quick question: where is Sami Zayn and why there's nothing for him going into Summerslam?

I thought that they had some plan laid out after Sami defeated Owens.

I thought that would give Sami a #1 contender's spot for the US title, but that went to Reigns for some reason.

I'm also interested to see where Sami and Cesaro head after Summerslam, given RAW's lack of top babyfaces.

It seems people are now starting to realise that Zayn hasn't been featured on RAW much since BG.

Hopefully, there are some big plans for him post SummerSlam, as I can't quite see how he fits into the current plans for the upcoming PPV at all.

Darren Young and Titus O'Neil are getting a feud on a 3 hour Raw yet they can't find anything for Zayn. Their booking is astounding at times.

It will be interesting to see if WWE and Zayn can put together a quality feud for him on Raw with anyone not named Kevin Owens or a title attached.

I wouldn't be in too big of a rush with him. He is on the wrong side of the singles mid card scene and may struggle to get included until Raw gets their own branded PPVs.

Yeah, pretty damn stupid. By the time they integrate him back in everybody's already gonna have forgotten about his win over KO. He'll be alright, but he'll have mainly lost the momentum that incredible match should have given him.

He needs a giant to slay. Playing up the underdog thing against anyone besides Braun will work. Keep Braun smashing people for a while. Zayn can have some program with a new cruiserweight guy or take on Show/Henry. They drafted them for these types of things, so give it a month long program to build Zayn and move on.

They are still working out the bugs and looking forward, so Zayn will clearly have a spot. They know he is money & will hopefully make it count when booking him. Keep him away from Kevin for a year. Revisit it when a belt is at stake @ Mania or something. Too much talent there & on the way to have people fighting one guy for months.

If they don't currently have anything for him i'd prefer him to be off TV. When WWE have nothing for you and you're on TV you lose.

Or you're named Heath Slater. We have nothing for you, dont need you on either show, but for some reason cant see firing you. So you go undrafted, we give your former teammate a contract his first night back & ignore your calls while we keep laughing at your attempts.

From now on, being repeatedly kicked in the balls career wise will be known as "Getting Slatered".

He missed one RAW since Battleground.

Battleground was July 24th
Raw July 25th he lost in a fatal four way.
Raw August 1st he lost to Seth Rollins in what I think was the main event that week.
Raw August 8th he missed but did a Superstars taping.

And then after this thread was made he was back again.

Dude misses one week and he's been missing from RAW?

After that match, I'd be alright with a Sheamus feud. Or Rusev. Or Jericho. Anyone other than Kevin Owens basically.

Point is, he's not doing shit.

I mean, you'd think they would have had something for him on the 2nd biggest card of the year after the biggest win of his career, no? Leaving him off the card does not necessarily put him in the best light.

Now that you say that, I almost suspect we'll get an impromptu match where management has Sami Zayn continue the bullying of Slater.

Because two of those weeks he was tied up.

One of them being in the fatal four way qualifier to be #1 contender for the Universal title and one of them being in the match with Rollins as part of the story line between Rollins and Balor.

Then he had his one week off.

It doesn't make him look bad. If he was in a two week build to a story people would bitch about that.

Not everyone is going to make the Summer Slam card. But because people like Sami people are overreacting to something that isn't even a big deal.

I think you're missing the point again dude. One more time. There should have been a plan in place for him the moment he was booked to beat Kevin Owens in their blowoff match. To let him float around and than leave him off SS completely after that great feud, a feud in which he ultimately came out on top in, is piss poor booking.

I get that not everybody is going to be on the Summerslam card but Sami Zayn absolutely should be, especially when it's something ridiculous like 5 hours or something this year. Sure it's not that big of a deal, but it still makes him look like shit when WWE has thrown everybody worth a damn on the roster into this card but Sami.

No it doesn't.

It's one event. Sure it's Summer Slam. But in the big picture it's fine. It isn't going to hurt him.

The only people that care are us on the Internet. I highly doubt the a casual fan is going to think he sucks now or isn't important because he isn't on the show.

If anything it's good because it gives him a little separation from Owens before he moves on to his next feud.

Both RAW matches he was in were good for him. One made it look like he was seen as someone credible enough to challenge for the new Universal title and the other one was a match with the top heel. If I remember right it was an incredibly competitive match.

That's better than just throwing him in a feud with someone for the sake of having him in a feud and being on the Summer Slam card. People complain when matches are just thrown on the card for no reason. But because it's someone we on the Internet like it's shitty.

I like the dude but I have no issue with his booking.

He'll be fine.

Your whole point is silly but this is the silliest of it all. The problem isn't that the fans could think that he sucks or is unimportant, the problem is that they're not thinking about him at all because he isn't being featured prominently on the heels of winning a high profile PPV match. "Casuals" don't remember one off matches on Raw. Fuck I'm definitely not a casual and I don't remember him having any matches since the KO match up until Monday.

They're using it him. That's better than regulating him to Superstars for a month.

Okay he's not on the pay per view. That doesn't mean they aren't thinking about him.

He got to main event with the top heel.
He go to be in the fatal four way for the number one contenders match.

He was tied up for those two weeks.

Again rushing a build for a match into two weeks would be ridiculous.
And people bitch about matches that are just thrown together.

This is an overreaction to something that isn't even an issue.

Zayn is on the pre-show teaming with Neville against the Dudley Boyz.
