Youtube Question For You Hooligans

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
When I have a video on Youtube, it'll only buffer about 30-50 seconds in advance. Is there a way to load the whole video before I start watching it?

The only way I know is literally just pausing the video before it starts and waiting but I'm assuming you don't want to do that. I think it really depends on how fast your computer is and how long the video you are trying to watch is.

That's the problem: if I pause it, the buffer stops at about 45 seconds ahead of whatever point I'm at and I want it to load all the way.

I guess the problem is the size of memory you allocate for your browser.

Worse quality = less memory = more time
Better quality = more memory = less time

If you use Internet Explorer, that's the way: http://www.ehow.com/video_4986963_allocate-more-memory-internet-explorer.html

In Firefox, click on "Extras" in the menu bar and choose "Settings". Go to "Advanced" (on the right) and choose the second tab ("Network"). There's an entry called "Cached content" or "Temporarily saved content". Tick "Turn off automatic cache management" and enter a new size (I use 1024 MB). I use a German browser, so the translation may be a bit off.
